You CAN be a Wisconsinite, a Packer and a Badger fan, and still appreciate our neighbor to the west!
Spend a day exploring THREE amazing opportunities in the Twin Cities area
•FIRST STOP -- Built into the ruins of what was once the world’s largest flour mill, Mill City Museum is located
on the historic Mississippi Riverfront. An attraction for all ages, the museum chronicles the flour milling industry
that dominated world flour production for a half-century and fueled the growth of Minneapolis, recognized across
the nation and around the world as “Mill City.” Built within the ruins of the National Historic Landmark Washburn
A Mill, the museum provides a multi-sensory, interactive journey. Our visit will include the following: orientation,
Flour Tower multimedia show + 9th floor observation deck, self-guided time in the exhibits, “Minneapolis in 19
Minutes Flat” movie, and an hour-long Washburn A Mill guided tour.
•SECOND STOP -- A meal at The Old Spaghetti Factory is an experience where you will feel as though you
are stepping into another world. The restaurant is adorned with antique lighting, intricate stained glass displays
and an old-fashioned trolley car that doubles as a dining hall. Nearly every item on menu is made on-site, from
scratch, using fresh ingredients. Our group will have a choice of 3 entrees and a crisp salad, hot fresh-baked bread,
and their signature spumoni ice cream. Entree choices include Baked Lasagna (their famous recipe!) or Fettucine
Alfredo or Chicken Marsala. Also includes hot tea, cold tea, coffee or milk.
•THIRD STOP -- A 90-minute guided adventure through the brand NEW U.S. Bank
Stadium. You will receive behind-the-scenes access to the new home of the Minnesota
Vikings. Discover the inner workings of U.S. Bank Stadium including VIP-accessible only
clubs and suites, the press box, the art collection, team locker room, stadium floor, and so
much more.
DATE: Saturday, October 15
DEPARTURE: 8:15 am from Amery at Soo Line Park following a 7:50 am departure from Unity School.

He also started La Brasa Rotisserie
Restaurant in Milwaukee where he
incorporated a Latino flair.
Not stopping there, Kwong also
shares his passions as restaurant

Wild Mushrooms 3: The Genus
Russula
The genus Russula includes some very
beautiful mushrooms, and many are very
hard to distinguish. Because Russulas are
typically fairly large, and because they are
often bright colored, amateur mushroomers
are frequently interested in identifying
them. We will learn about the edible and
toxic species and also look at closely
related and similar looking mushrooms.
Relationships with trees and other plants
and fungi will also be discussed. As a
follow-up to the 101 or 102 classes, we can
start narrowing our identification searches
down as we become familiar with this
common group of mushrooms.

PICKLEBALL- Open Gym
Come to the high school gym on
Wednesday nights to play the fastest
growing recreational sport in the nation.
This mini-tennis game is a combination
of ping-pong, tennis, racquetball and
badminton played with wood, composite
and graphite paddles and unique plastic
balls. It is easy to learn, provides plenty
of exercise, and is played on a court much
smaller than a tennis court. Participants
don't have to be strong, don't have to be
quick, and don't have to be athletic or
good at other sports. Pickleball is not
about power, but instead it is about shot
placement and accuracy.
