Greetings from Fun City!
I don’t know about you but I can’t wipe the smile off my face these days
because Detroit is absolutely flourishing. After years of turmoil, something
happened. Maybe the “Nain Rouge” actually left town, I don’t know… but I am
having the time of my life with all the amazing energy flying around.
Detroit has always been a tale of 10 cities, representing cultures from all over
the globe. With that in mind we have dedicated this year’s programming to
simply having fun with all of our world cultures. So check out all the wildly
different genres and styles of events. Pick a show and invite your friends. Go
ahead Detroit, it is smile time. You deserve it. You earned it. As always…

Jose Porcel and his company of dancers and live orchestra
present a spectacle of classic flamenco as it was danced
and performed by the great masters, including Antonio
Gades, Jose Greco, and the great Antonio. Jose Porcel and
the company perform a traditional program of the art of
Flamenco. This breathtaking extravaganza represents the
purity and authenticity of the golden age of Flamenco. The
choreography, costumes and music have been faithfully
reproduced to ensure a wonderful program of the great
moments of the art of Flamenco.

Surrounded by music since she was a small child, twenty-four year old singer,
songwriter and composer Chrisette Michele has been blessed with an old soul and this
Long Island bred songwriter and vocalist has a deep appreciation for the harmonic
foundations that includes gospel and jazz.

We are asked all the time what is a Producer and what do they do for
Music Hall?
Producers make it happen. In theatre as in life, Producers are the
entrepreneurs and innovators who lead the way. At Music Hall, the
Producers are the special group of supporters who dedicate time and
financial support to our mission of presenting cutting edge, often
Avant-Gard diversity programming from around the world. We often
work together; plan fund-raising events together and personally meet
and welcome the artists to Detroit. At the highest levels, we travel
together to New York and other cities looking for talent and what is
current in arts and culture worldwide with the intention of bringing
home to SE Michigan. It is all of our jobs to take care of the cultural
well-being of our community and I hope you will consider joining our
group of very cool people. It’s fun, its exciting and…its important!
