During the previous two months, Caritas Jordan received volunteers from
different parts of the world who are interested to do a voluntary work

personal and humanitarian intentions to serve in another country with
refugees and needy people.

Awareness
Lectures
Awareness Lectures
Last month, Caritas Jordan held
many awareness lectures for Iraqi,
Jordanian
beneficiaries
and
female migrant workers with an
aim to raise their education on
health knowledge.
Community Center
Two lectures were held for around
(60) Iraqi beneficiaries and female
migrant workers on “Personal
Hygiene” and “Baby Care”. These
lectures
aimed
at
clarifying
important facts with respect to
each topic, along with the right
methods and tools needed. Learning was applied through the Relief and Baby care kits
distributed on the beneficiaries at the end of each lecture.
Zarqa Center With the cooperation of Caritas Zarqa Committee, Zarqa Center held
three lectures for the needy Jordanian families at the parishes. The lectures, which were
delivered by the Center`s GP, included vital information on “Breast Cancer”, Nutrition”,
and “Physical Activity”.
“Now I feel Alive…….”
With this sentence Alaa Fahoury, 14, expressed his
overwhelming joy after implanting an artificial left
hand instead of his, which he lost earlier due to a
physical disability he was suffering from.
HAJO “Humanitarian Assistance for Jordanians”
Center has been cooperating with “Andrew Inabi
Organization” to implement the “Artificial Limbs”
project. This cooperation has been facilitated
through a volunteer at Caritas Marka Committee
Mrs. Nadia Fahel`s sister. Mrs. Christine Fahel is a
married woman with three children living in the USA.
Her son, Andrew Inabi, was killed by a car accident
after which Mrs. Fahel decided to donate her son`s
organs to a young man.
Since then, “Andrew Inabi Organization” was
established by Mrs.Christine with the help of her sister
to help youth to implant artificial limbs, especially for
those under 18 years old.
Till this date, and with the help of Caritas Jordan that takes the responsibility to look for the
needy cases through its centers and beneficiaries. It has succeeded to help (10) cases
with the implantation, in addition to contribution with some major surgical operations such
as cancer and heart surgeries as well as humanitarian assistance such as distribution of
food packages, gifts for needy families and children.
Today’s world embraces high technology means, namely information
sharing, communication in addition to numerous and unprecedented industries.
However, we can’t overlook development phases throughout past decades.
This means that mankind is aware of distinctive age requirements, needs for
development to secure and promote comfort means. We can also recognize
how human brain could prove its capability to create wonders.
We can tell that the intention was to provide comfort and prove outstanding
abilities of creation, thus proves that God granted mankind an adequate logic
to use it for the sake of humanity.
Meanwhile, we can notice how ego has governed this development yet has
failed and led to a difficult confrontation in which we are defying a force we
have helped to create.
Ego is in everything, does not know, respect or think of others. It is simply a
supreme indifference and a biggest enemy of the time. Ego wishes to take
control regardless of what it takes, even on the account of millions of people
who will suffer, lose homes or countries, or even die.
Ego is not only the reason for inventing all weapons of supreme powers, which
we can’t confront, but constantly improving them to become more
destructive to kill us in many modernized ways.
Ego was a cause of wars, hatred, epidemics, mass destruction and losing
human values. As result, it is a cause of confrontation with God as it has
occupied our thoughts. Ego is death to everything but itself. Many have paid
the dearest because of others selfishness. Even with the current development,
man has started to lose all wonderful values, self-control as if we are in a
jungle where nature selects.
We should have a new beginning without fears and our prime concern should
be the sake of humanity. We have to think about our fellows (the poor, needy,
disabled, helpless, displaced, orphans, widows and others) during all times of
the day, which is the best way to kill ego. We have to love and see God in
everyone. It is a difficult experiment, however we have to aim for one new life
and make the best of it until we reach a better world that is free from
selfishness.
