THE EXPERIENCE
Chapada Diamantina National Park, created in 1985, is a region of
mixed terrain. You will find verdant slopes and red-rock mesas fed by
the underground water system, waterfalls and pools contrasting with
the nearby drought-ridden semi-arid Sertão. The topography consists
of the cake-like layers of sediment once collected on a primeval ocean
floor and pushed up to be carved by wind and water into plateaus,
canyons and caverns.
SUGGESTED ITINERARY
DURATION: 5 DAYS/4NIGHTS
Day 1 – Lençóis
Arrival at Lençóis Airport, 20-mininute transfer to the hotel and checkin. Free afternoon. At night, welcome dinner at Hotel Canto das Águas.
Meals: Dinner.
Day 2 – Lençóis (Marimbus Expedition)
After breakfast, 45-minute (18 km) transfer in 4x4 from Lençóis to
Remanso (a village of slave descendants founded in 1948). You will
then follow Rio Santo Antonio (Saint Anthony River) downstream on a
rowboat, leaving the village of Remanso and crossing Marimbus, which
is known as Chapada's marshlands: the natural habitat of several types
of local fish and innumerable water-birds. Stop for lunch around Rio
Roncador. Right after lunch, you will continue to see the natural
whirlpools of Rio Roncador, whose spring is 1,400 m above sea level.
70-meter-high Cachoeira do Samuel (Samuel Waterfall) is a must-see.
Stop for a swim in its natural pools. Transfer in 4x4 to Lençóis
(approximately 1:30 hours).

GETTING THERE
There are flights from Salvador
to Lençóis Airport (LEC) every
Thursday and Sunday. By land,
it is approximately a 5-hour
drive from Salvador to the city
of Lençóis.

Day 3 – Lençóis (Vale do Capão and Cachoeira da Fumaça)
After breakfast, departure by car to Vale do Capão (Capão Valley),
approximately 1h30. A 2-hour hike to the top of Cachoeira da Fumaça
("Smoke Waterfall"), known around the world for its height of 422
meters. On the way back to Lençóis, we stop for a swim.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch.
Day 4 – Lençóis (Gruta da Torrinha, Pai Inácio and Poço do Diabo)
After breakfast, an approximately 1-hour transfer to visit the Gruta da
Torrinha (Torrinha Cavern). A 2-hour hike inside this grotto full of
stalactites, stalagmites and other cave formations. A visit to the hill
Morro do Pai Inácio, where there is the best scenery of the Chapada
Diamantina. Lunch at Pai Inácio Restaurant, then transfer to Rio
Mucugezinho to visit the Cachoeira Poço do Diabo ("Devil's Well
Waterfall"). At the end of the day, return to Lençóis.

Day 5 – Lençóis (Rio Serrano)
After breakfast, a light walk to Rio Serrano for a bathe in the natural massaging water wells. Then a walk to
Salão de Areias Coloridas ("Saloon of colored sand"), Poço Halley (Halley Well), Cachoeira da Primavera
("Spring Waterfall"), a lookout and Cachoeirinha Waterfall. Transfer to Lençóis Airport in the afternoon. End
of our services.

PAYMENT METHODS AND CANCELATION
CREDIT CARD OR WIRE TRANSFER
In order to secure a reservation, passengers must pay 30% of the total price of the trip via deposit up to 90 days prior to
the departure date. Reservations made under 90 days before the departure date will result in the payment of the full
cost of the trip. The following credit cards are accepted: Visa and MasterCard.
Note that:
 Payments with credit cards are processed in Brazilian Reais.
 Payments via wire transfer are converted from Brazilian Reais to US Dollars at the exchange rate of the day of
the transaction.
CANCELATION POLICY
 90 or more days prior to the check-in date: full refund of payment.
 89 to 61 days prior to the check-in date: 80% refund of payment.
 60 to 30 days prior to the check-in date: 50% refund of payment.
 29 days or less prior to the check-in date: no refund of payment.
