On March 19, 2010, the Art
Club, Band, and Home Ec.
Department held the First
Annual Arts Night. The
public was invited to see
the individual creativity and
“artwork” of students from
Kindergarten through 12th
grade. The school lobby and
hallways became an art gallery
and the stairway became a
stage for performers. The Home
Ec. classes even got creative in
forming, among other things, a
garden and caterpillar out of
decorated cupcakes. Spectators
were even able to decorate
their own cupcakes and leave
their mark on a giant
community piece of artwork.
With great community support
it was extremely successful and
will become an annual event.

Making a Difference
Mr. Richard Bower has dedicated many
years to developing the Bellwood-Antis
music department. The class of 2010 Choral
students decided it was time the students
showed him how much they appreciate his
dedication. These students approached the
School Board requesting an official name
change for the auditorium. At the Spring
Choral Concert, Bower was presented a
plaque officially renaming the auditorium,
“The Richard S. Bower Auditorium”.
The Bellwood-Antis Middle School conducted a Mini Relay for
Life Walk. Students walked around the track for one to two class
periods. The Middle School raised $3,200 toward the overall
$37,500 for the Northern Blair Relay for Life held on June 8-19,
2010. Students were asked to collect donations for the cause.
The students pictured below brought in the highest donation for
their grade an presented the check to the American Cancer
Society on June 8, 2010.
