board of 2013 has finishe d its Ene rgy C lub dutie s and now it’s up to the us, the board of 2014, to build on to the le gacy of our pre de ce ssors.

Energy Icon Competition
At the TU De lft m uch done on the fie ld of e ne rgy. To show this m ore and to inspiring all profe ssors and stude nts to k e e p up the ir good work ,
an Ene rgy Icon which will (lite rally?) shine on the cam pus will be de ve lope d. Be side s e ne rgy re late d, this icon will be com e visionary, an iconic
landm ark and re pre se nting the TU De lft's e x ce lle nce . The opportunity to de ve lop this pre stigious icon is grante d to stude nts!
The re fore the Ene rgy C lub holds a com pe tition. W e are look ing for a te am of 2-5 e nthusiastic stude nts that com e up with the TU De lft Ene rgy
Icon. The m ost innovative and fe asible ide a will be grante d with the possibility of re alization of the icon! Also, The proje ct te am m e m be rs are
e ligible to 5 EC TS from Ge rtjan de W e rk ’s course “Sustainable Innovation in Practice ” (W M0944TU).

in Den Haag. Dit jaarlijk se congre s staat ge he e l in he t the m a van de Energietransitie, wordt ge organise e rd door ze ve n stude nte n van de TU
De lft naar e e n initiatie f van Gre e nBlue e n de Ene rgy C lub. De visie voor he t e ve ne m e nt is:
‘Het uitdagen van verschillende partijen om samen een stap vooruit te zetten in de energierevolutie.’

CleanTech Challenge 2014 - Sign Up Now!
The C le ante ch C halle nge is an innovation com pe tition for gre e n ide as. The com pe tition proce ss prope ls those ide as to a le ve l whe re the
conce pt can start to attract funding. Since 2011, this com pe tition has a Dutch counte rpart. The te am that wins in the Dutch counte rpart re ce ive s
a price of €3000,- and has the opportunity to com pe te at the inte rnational finals in London!

proje ct, the sis or re se arch re port qualifie s for one of the thre e UfD-C ofe ly Ene rgy Efficie ncy Prize s. The re is a first prize of €7.500 and two
prize s of €2.500.

Ene x is is look ing for stude nts who are inte re ste d in the MSc graduation proje ct: Quantifying flexibility in the smart grid pilot 'Jouw
Energie Moment' (Dutch spe ak ing stude nts only).
‘Jouw Ene rgie Mom e nt’ are two pilot proje cts on sm art grids. In coope ration with se ve ral partne rs, Ene x is has launche d two proje cts in the
‘Me ule nspie ’ and ‘Easy Stre e t’ ne ighbourhoods in Bre da and the ‘Muzie k wijk ’ in Zwolle . The re sults of the se pilot proje cts will he lp guide the
de ve lopm e nt of future local e ne rgy syste m s in The Ne the rlands. R e side nts produce the ir own e ne rgy using photovoltaic pane ls. Participants in
the pilot proje cts re ce ive d a sm art m e te r, an e ne rgy com pute r and a sm art washing m achine , which com m unicate s with the e ne rgy com pute r.
The se sm art appliance s allow participants to m ak e rational de cisions base d on actual e ne rgy use , incre asing e fficie ncy. This re duce s costs and
be ne fits the e nvironm e nt by e m powe ring e ne rgy consum e rs.
