Assets School finished the year in sound financial condition.
Assets continues to rely almost completely on tuition income
to meet its obligations. Contributions and other sources
account for approximately 25% of our operating revenue.
More than $620,000 in tuition assistance was provided to
families in need.
FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Scheid, Brace Foundation Trustees. Karen, a long time
Assets Trustee and parent of two former Assets students,
and her mother, Mrs. Ogilvie, collaborated in funding the
construction of the Brace Library and Learning Resource
Center and in the past year have committed a $1 million
endowment to fund its operations. Their generosity will
impact generations of students. We are grateful for their
support and philanthropic leadership.
Patrick M. McFadden
Chairman of the Board
Dear Friends:
Assets School is pleased
to provide our 2007-2008
annual report. It was a year
of transition pointing to an
exciting future.
Thank you to all that have contributed to Assets School
where “Learning Transforms Lives.”
Mahalo,
The success of this past year
would not have been possible
without the steady leadership of our Interim Head of
School, Sandi Tadaki. Sandi provided the experience and
steady hand needed as the Board completed its search
for our new Head of School. We extend our profound
gratitude to Sandi for a job well done.
Patrick M. McFadden, Chairman
Board of Trustees
Under the capable leadership of Trustee John Morton,
the search committee selected Paul Singer as Head
of School. Paul brings many years of professional
experience and a personal commitment to individualized
education. His enthusiasm, energy and leadership skills
are evident to all who meet him. We welcome Paul, his
wife, Sungalina, and his son, Noah, to the Assets family.
Assets has been blessed with outstanding leaders. Sandi
Tadaki and our Principals Patti Jenks and Jyo Bridgewater
Borg, along with the previous Heads of School, the
visionary Barrett McCandless and the passionate Lou
Salza, have created a learning environment that has
impacted the lives of thousands of families.
Our outstanding faculty and staff continue to insure that
our students are empowered to maximize their potential.
We are grateful for their efforts and commitment to Assets.
Jyo Bridgewater-Borg, Sandi Tadaki, Patti Jenks.
During the past year, members of the Assets family
evaluated our existing approach to marketing and
communications. This effort, led by Trustees Elisa
Yadao and Tony Vericella and Development Director Rob
Muschany, resulted in developing a new communication
strategy to improve how we present our vision and
mission to the broader community. “Learning That
Transforms Lives” is a central part of this new marketing
plan and a key refrain often heard from parents and
students.
We would like to thank departing Trustees Donna Howard
and Alana Pakkala for their many years of service and
welcome new Trustees Sheri Gleason and Dee Jay Mailer
to our Board. The participation of the entire Board during
the Head of School search and the branding effort, along
with their numerous contributions throughout the year,
was critical to our success.
Paul Singer and Sungalina Lee.
Assets School has had many supporters but none more
generous than Mrs. Donna Brace Ogilvie and Mrs. Karen

Gifted and
Twice-Exceptional
K-8 Principal
• Student-produced art, from Egyptian
frieze to Native American totems, made
hallways bloom.
• A garden such as the ancient Sumerians
might have had was carefully planned
and tended.
• An African fable came alive in words,
music and dance.
• Early American heroes told their stories
in a living wax museum.
Smart kids can struggle in school. Just ask
curriculum specialist Robyn McMullin, who has seen
plenty of these students during her 16 years at Assets.
These students are either gifted or “twice exceptional” exhibiting both high academic potential and a
learning difference.
These are just a few of the things that might have captured a visitor’s
attention during the 2007-2008 school year. They typify the Assets School
experience, made possible by an instructional philosophy that includes
small class size, well-trained teachers, involved counselors and a broad yet
integrated curriculum. All students benefit from the systematic, structured,
sequential and cumulative lessons that are the bedrock of language
instruction.
The K-8 program served more than 260 students this year, each student
growing in confidence and academic competence.
FROM LANGUAGE ARTS TO PERFORMING ARTS
Integration of the curriculum ensured consistency and reinforcement of
concepts. Research demonstrates that an approach that is multisensory
and multidisciplinary facilitates comprehension and retention.
K-8 students continually explore concretely while being guided to higherlevel thinking and analysis. Allowing students to make meaning for
themselves and to construct their own understanding is an important key
to self-motivated learning. The fifth and sixth graders who first researched,
2
Along with higher than average IQ scores, they
possess strong vocabularies, sophisticated reasoning
skills, insightful thinking and a creative outlook on
learning. Yet in the general education classroom,
these same students often struggle because they
are unchallenged by coursework and, in the case of
twice-exceptional students, paradoxically challenged
by the limitations imposed by their dyslexia,
dysgraphia, dyscalculia or other learning difference.
“This is where Assets’ unique, integrated curriculum
comes into play for both gifted and twice-exceptional
students,” says Robyn. “Their individual differences
are honored, their talents and intellect are nurtured,
and their challenges addressed with tools and
strategies they can use in school and life.”
For evidence of Assets’ success with gifted and
twice-exceptional students, Robyn points to the
annual Talent Search by the John Hopkins University
Center for Talented Youth. In 2007-08, 33 Assets
students, in second through eighth grade, qualified
for this selective program. Many of these students,
who must score in the 95th percentile or higher in one
or more areas of a standardized test, then participate
in the Talent Search and in CTY’s summer programs,
and three of our students, Allyn Goo, Koen Komeya,
and Jacob Tobias, proudly received statewide
honors.

then re-enacted a battle from the French-Indian War with water
balloons as munitions or the seventh and eighth graders who
enacted scenes from the ancient flood myth, “Gilgamesh,” had
a deeply-layered learning experience that allowed them to form
connections and acquire skills in an unforgettable way.
Dedicated resource teachers in art, music, computer, physical
education and performing arts expand the classroom curriculum
and work in partnership with classroom teachers. Performances
and presentations often culminate an area of study. These
events both strengthen students’ expressive language skills and
reinforce substantive knowledge.

SUPPORTING DIFFERENCES
The Assets teacher values diversity and understands how to
individualize instruction when needed. Structured, layered and
interwoven lessons provide continual review and challenge for
students with a variety of exceptionalities.
The popular “enrichment” electives once again gave students
the opportunity to end their school day with an area of interest or
exploration. Archaeology and doll dress design were just some
of the new offerings that students found engaging.
WORK AND PLAY IN THE LARGER COMMUNITY
Many seventh and eighth grade students participated on sports
teams, finding fun and collegiality on teams that combined
students from the PAC-5 consortium of schools.
K-8 Student Council collects over 5,700 pounds of rice.
Seventh and eighth graders also participated in a science fair for
middle-school students. Volunteer judges from the University
of Hawaii recognized prize winners in several categories. These
winners went on to do well at the state science fair.
The K-8 student council sponsored a rice drive that collected
over 5,700 pounds of rice, and the seventh and eighth grade
girls gathered to make toiletry kits for girls their age who were in
foster care or safe houses.

A COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS
Increased attention was paid to communication with families.
A newsletter from the principal went home several times a
trimester. The principal also contributed articles to the parent
newsletter and conducted the first-ever meeting for sixth grade
parents to find out more about the seventh and eighth grade
curriculum and events.
Another new initiative was a successful pilot year for an after
school program featuring Lego League and chess, as well as art
and dance. Students in the dance program participated in the
first middle school and high school visual and performing arts
event at Paliku Theatre at Windward Community College.

THE BARRETT MCCANDLESS AWARD
As Head of School for nearly twenty years, Barrett McCandless helped shape Assets’ mission, setting the foundation for the unique
curriculum that continues to help our students find success in school and throughout life. She was a champion of children who
learn differently, with great admiration for their perseverance, achievements and commitment to success. Each year in her honor,
the Barrett McCandless Award is granted to an 8th grade student and high school senior who exemplify the qualities that she most
admired.
Jan Geisse, Eighth Grade Recipient
This year’s eighth grade recipient was Jan Geisse. Jan is a natural leader,
exhibiting perseverance and determination in his pursuits. He is passionate and
articulate about his convictions, always willing to advocate for himself and others.
Academically, Jan strives for excellence, analyzing and synthesizing information
with acuity. During the 2007-08 school year, he served on the K-8 Student
Council and participated in the after-school dance team and opera series. Jan
is passionate about the education he has received from Assets and even helped
as a student representative at last fall’s admission fair sponsored by the Hawaii
Association of Independent Schools. Jan is continuing his education at Assets
this fall in the ninth grade.
Charne Stoebner, High School Recipient
Valedictorian Charne Stoebner embodies the spirit of Mrs. McCandless’ vision
that the Assets’ students can accomplish any goal they set for themselves and
become life long learners in the process. Throughout her time at Assets, Charne
developed exceptional leadership skills, which were especially evident during her
senior year as class president. In this role she was instrumental in the success
of the high school’s Community Service Day, orchestrating the involvement of
the senior class in supporting the work of the Institute for Human Services. She
also made remarkable contributions to the Mentorship Program with her strong
work ethic, positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work cooperatively.
Charne is continuing her education this fall at Washington State University.

GRADUATION
Graduation for any senior is truly a
memorable occasion, but for those at
Assets it is not only a moment of great
celebration, it is a moment of triumph.
Charne Stoebner and Kara Reyes,
2008 Valedictorians, shared heartfelt
comments about their classmates,
family, school community and dreams, while salutatorian Matt Taylor added
his thoughts and a humorous perspective about the transition to college. These
class leaders represent the journey of the Assets student. Their words give us
insight into their challenges, their hopes for the future and their determination
to succeed. It was truly a magical graduation ceremony as we celebrated the
accomplishments of each of the seniors and honored their contributions to the
Assets Community.
The Lou Salza Honu Award
was granted to Jamie Wo,
who exemplifies the spirit
of Assets through her
transformation to a resilient,
effective self-advocate.
Jamie inspires others with
her determined and positive
efforts to navigate through
any obstacle that stands
in the way of her dreams.
Jamie is attending Mitchell
College this fall.
The Karen K. Scheid Scholarship, which recognizes an individual who clearly
demonstrates the perseverance and determination of a dyslexic learner, was
awarded to Samantha Jones, who is now attending Dominican University.
Samantha views her dyslexia as a welcome part of who she is and accepts the
challenges of learning differently as a means to gain strength and understanding
about who she will become.
The Sarah Gleason College Scholarship is given to a high potential or gifted
student who has emerged from the Assets experience with a greater sense of
self and the means to contribute remarkable gifts to the community. This year’s
recipient was Troy Toyama, a twice-exceptional individual who has the ability
to navigate through the world of science and math with incredible skill and has
mastered assistive technology to overcome his reading challenges. A confident
and competent individual, Troy is attending Oregon State University this fall.
The Kamakia Scholarship honors the memory of Tessa Dye and her belief in
Assets and the spirit of its students. We were honored to have Ahia Dye (’99), one
of Tessa Dye’s three children who all graduated from Assets, on stage to present
this award to Danny Shigemura. This once shy elementary student who felt he
would never read like everyone else has become a competent, hard-working
learner and a valued class and community leader. Danny now attends the
University of Hawaii.

HIGH SCHOOL
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR
This year, “Visions” – a collection of visual and performing arts
– became a reality; in May the middle school, high school and
Assets parents were treated to a memorable event at Paliku
Theater at Windward Community College. Students performed
an updated and humorous version of Grimm’s fairy tales;
photography and original art were displayed in the foyer; and
students from dance and music classes performed on stage.
“Visions” gave our students the opportunity to share their
gifts with the community, and we are grateful for the visionary
leadership of teacher Amy Oshiro and the strong support of
the arts teachers – Ali Beste, Brigitta Leitner, Christin Fox,
Benoit Weber, and Mandy Harpstrite.
Assets’ focus on the integration of skills with authentic, handson learning resulted in statewide recognition for the Assets
On the Spot News mentorship. Under the leadership of Mike
and Suzy Travis, the team won top honors in this year’s Kalo
Awards. Their commercial for G-String Ukuleles was a finalist
in this statewide competition and deemed “Most Informative.”
Participants included Kerry Chang, Kevin Fujikawa, Zakary
Smith, Seth Tanoue and Kai Erickson.
Our assistive technology program continues to grow under
the strong leadership and expertise of Ali Beste and Mike
and Suzy Travis. Students learn how to support their learning
challenges and use technology as a tool to acquire, access and
target their area of need to support literacy development and
academic success.
Community service has become a priority with projects ranging
from campus beautification to a school-wide “field trip” to
serve the community outside Assets. Freshmen participated in
stenciling storm drains to protect our oceans, Sophomores and
Juniors tackled beach cleanups, and the Seniors volunteered at
the Hawaii Institute for Human Services and the Nature Center.
• Attendees at the Rotary Youth Leaders Awards camp included
Danny Shigemura, Kori Yomes, Kelly Quinn, Fabrizio
Alliata and Richelle Farley.
Students have been actively involved in growing their
leadership skills and developing the schoolwide learning
expectation for concerned citizens and clear communicators.
Guided by the energy and expertise of Jason Wagner and
class advisors, students have grown as leaders through
class meetings, leadership classes and hands-on work with
community agencies.
• Troy Toyama received the Student of the Month Award
from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics
Association for outstanding leadership and academic
performance.
• Mitchell Matias was recognized for his leadership in school
and the community and awarded a $500 scholarship for his
post-secondary education by the Independent Order of the
Odd Fellows.
• Danny Shigemura participated in the State Student
Conference at the University of Hawaii and the State Capitol.
• Zach Mar participated in the 2007 World Games Special
Olympics in Beijing and received a gold medal for his aquatic
performance in the freestyle relay.
• Laakea Akaka, Fabrizio Alliata, Kupu Henderson, Grant
Kitagawa, Garrett Kato and Ross Taira-Kuehu attended
the statewide 2050 Youth Sustainability Summit at the
Blaisdell Center to discuss creating a sustainable future for
Hawaii.
Assets High School faculty members are committed to our
mission and the students who learn differently. They are
always seeking professional growth and developing their own
gifts and talents along the way. We are deeply grateful for the
contributions of these exceptional educators.
• Kelly Quinn and Craig Bisacre participated in Fort Shafter’s
Pacific Youth Leadership Forum and Teen Panel Meetings.

HIGH SCHOOL
ASSETS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, SHAPING FUTURES
Each Wednesday from October to April, the Assets parking lot
converts into a bus depot. Eight buses line up to take students
to high school Mentorship sites across Oahu, where for the next
three hours, Assets’ 10th, 11th and 12th graders experience
actual work environments, gain authentic work skills and develop
genuine career understanding.
Consider Jamie Wo, one
of Assets’ 2008 graduates.
At her first mentorship site,
Queen Emma Pre-School,
Jamie worked with children
on the playground and in
the classroom, assisted
teachers in daily projects and
activities and began to see
herself pursuing a career in
early childhood education.
In her junior year, Jamie had
similar responsibilities at
Central Union Pre-School,
and she spent her final
year at Kapiolani Medical
Center where she assisted
hospitalized children with art
projects.
These mentorship experiences helped Jamie shape her career
path decisions. When it came time to begin searching for
the right college, knowing that she wanted to be a pre-school
teacher allowed Jamie to narrow her options. Ultimately,
she settled on Mitchell College, in part, because of its Early
Childhood Education Department.
• Suzy Travis, Nikki Hamai-Sakai and Trisha Kosasa
were selected to participate in the Hawaii Association of
Independent Schools Private School Leadership master’s
degree program.
Assets Mentorship Program gives students a chance to explore
different career opportunities. Not all students will find their
passion like Jamie, but the experiences always help them define
their career aspirations.
• Amy Oshiro has been actively involved in local theater
productions this year and was the co-director of the dramatic
production, “Fences.”
• Ali Beste continues to develop skills and talents for her
Assets photography classes. She placed third in the digital
category of the 2007 Honolulu Magazine/Hotels and Resorts
of Halekulani Photo Contest.
• Faculty members have been involved in training and
workshops for Read Naturally (a reading fluency program),
Key Three (reading comprehension), Social Emotional
Learning, Wilson Language System, Inspiration, and Assistive
Technology.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Assets Parents ‘Ohana continues to have significant impact
on the School and its activities. The mission of the parent
group is to support the School and its parents by increasing
communication, providing parent education and creating a sense
of community.
An ice cream social kicked off the 2007-08 school year. New
parents and families got to know one another while helping with
campus maintenance around the students’ play structure. As
the year progressed, monthly coffee socials helped keep parents
connected with the school and each other. Six education forums,
led by various experts through the school year, covered a wide
range of topics including language, memory and dyslexia.
Ali Beste and Marcia
Grozen-Smith are
enjoying Teacher
Appreciation Week.
Assets Parents ‘Ohana also led a number of fundraising
activities during the year. Through the generosity of parents
and community members, the ‘Ohana raised nearly $7,000 in
contributions through various endeavors. These annual events
included the NikeTown 5k, the Barnes and Noble Book Fair
and classroom support of Assets’ annual gala, “A Passage to
Paradise.”
The popular NikeTown
5k had Assets

tied into the classroom’s theme or lesson. These wonderful
creations raised almost $4,000 as a part of the event’s silent
auction!
November’s 3rd annual Barnes and Noble Book Fair at Kahala
Mall had teachers reading their favorite stories and parents
volunteering their time for the three-day event. Raising nearly
$2,500 and garnering more than 300 new books and various
supplies for the school, the event was a huge success.
All of these successes would not have been possible without the
contribution of time, talent and treasure from our wonderful parents.
Between their many hours of volunteering and their commitment
of more than $9,000 in dues and donations, parents are truly the
lifeblood of the Assets Parents ‘Ohana. Mahalo nui loa to everyone
who makes this amazing organization such an important part of the
life of the school!

FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
Million Dollar
Investment
Rob Muschany
Director of Development
Thank you! It cannot be said enough to all
who gave their time, talent and treasure to
Assets this year. Our fundraising success in
2007-08 is the product of so many generous
people. From young alumni finding the
money to make a gift to former parents
wanting to show their appreciation, our
donors this year have been truly supportive.
Here are some of the highlights:
• Assets saw not one but two major gifts to Assets’ endowment. The
first was a $1 million dollar commitment in endowment support from
the Donald C. Brace Foundation (see story on this page). The
second was a $100,000 commitment from school trustee, Karen K.
Scheid, to establish an endowment fund for tuition aid.
• More than $420,000 was contributed to Assets’ general fund through
the school’s annual appeal, the very successful annual event, and
through the 2007 Aloha United Way Campaign. The general fund
provides support for the school’s tuition assistance program and
crucial “extras” in the areas of library resources, computer technology
and professional development.
• Assets awarded more than $620,000 in tuition aid in 2007-08. So
many donors helped make this assistance program a reality, and
it certainly would not have been possible without the endowment
created by The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation as well as
generous grant support from the Arthur & Louise Hanser Charitable
Trust Fund, the Frear Eleemosynary Trust, the G. N. Wilcox Trust,
the J. Watumull Fund, the Kosasa Foundation and the McInerny
Foundation.
• Assets completed the first year of a four-year grant from the Jack Kent
Cooke Foundation. Assets was one of four independent schools to
receive this funding aimed at expanding educational opportunities for
twice-exceptional, low-to-moderate income students.
It is a gift for the ages. In January, the Donald
C. Brace Foundation officially committed to
creating a $1 million endowment for Assets
School.
“We are so very grateful to Donna Brace Ogilvie,
founder of the Brace Foundation, and her
daughter, Karen K. Scheid, trustee for both the
Brace Foundation and Assets,” said Patrick M.
McFadden, chairman of the school’s board of
trustees. “They were instrumental in securing this
extraordinary investment in the school.”
In fact, Karen, whose sons attended Assets more
than 15 years ago, added to this historic gift by
establishing her own $100,000 endowment for
tuition assistance.
• In 2007-08, 77 donors joined The Honu Society, a donor club that
recognizes individuals contributing $1,000 or more a year to Assets
and foundations and businesses that give at least $2,500.
Funds from the Brace endowment will support the
maintenance and improvement of the Donald C.
Brace Learning Resource Center, which consists
of the school’s library and computer center. The
resource center has been an essential component
of the integrated, multisensory curriculum at
Assets since the center was built as part of the
current campus in 1992.
• Assets also received generous grant support from the Margaret
Watt Edwards Foundation to help in the critical area of professional
development for school faculty as well as from the James and Abigail
Campbell Family Foundation and Friends of Hawaii Charities,
which both helped expand the school’s teacher training and outreach
program.
“This act of philanthropy will impact every student
who walks through our doors,” said Sandi Tadaki,
interim head of school at the time of the gift and
now director of admissions. “This gift will fuel the
hearts, minds and very lives of all of our future
students.”
The Honor Roll over the next few pages is based on cumulative giving
during the 2007-08 fiscal year and is our way of gratefully recognizing the
contributions so many have made. Event contributions and sponsorships
are included as part of a feature story on pages 17-19.
13
Through an annual distribution, the endowment
will provide much-needed funding to broadly
support the Resource Center’s role in the daily life
of the school and help finance costs associated
with everything from the librarian’s salary to
expanding access to online resources.

The image of the Hawaiian sea
turtle, incredibly vulnerable in
youth and incredibly powerful and
graceful in adulthood, inspired
the creation of The Honu Society.
Established five years ago to
encourage and recognize annual
philanthropic support of the
School, the Society is a tribute to
our students who often struggle
during their educational journey
yet manage to persevere until
they find the place in society
where they can flourish.
Graced with such a powerful
name and dedicated supporters,
The Honu Society has been a
great success. For 2007-08
the Society had 77 members.
Annual membership in The Honu
Society is based on cumulative
giving during the fiscal year, with
membership beginning at $1,000
for individuals and $2,500 for
corporations and foundations.
(Sponsorships and contributions
to the annual gala fundraiser are
recognized separately.)
The giving levels for The Honu
Society are: ‘Ohia ($1,000), Maile
($2,500), Koa ($5,000), ‘Iliahi
($10,000), and Mamani ($20,000).
Membership is open to all! If
you would like to join in 200809, please send your check in
the envelope included with this
annual report and write “Honu
Society” in the memo portion of
the check.

A Passage to Paradise
Nurturing Our Garden
Platinum $10,000
Friday, February 29, 2008
Guests attending this year’s event were enticed by
the sweet sounds of a harp gently guiding them to
a ballroom completely transformed into a beautiful
garden setting. There were fresh flowers as far
as the eye could see, twelve guest chefs and an
amazing silent auction. Emceed by Jade Moon,
there wasn’t a dull moment to be found!

ASSETS TEACHER TRAINING AND OUTREACH PROGRAM
On the first day of the session they arrive brimming with
enthusiasm and excited to learn.
prepared to help students with their learning challenges.
This year, Assets was able to sponsor an array of educational
forums and modules open to Assets’ teachers and the
general community. These included the Lindamood Phoneme
Sequencing Program, Key Three Routine Comprehension
Strategy Instruction, Slingerland Multisensory Structured
Language Approach, and an online course called Dyslexia: An
Introduction to the Orton Gillingham Approach. In partnership
with the Hawaii Branch of the
International Dyslexia Association
and the Pediatric Association of
Hawaii, we hosted the Project
Read: Story Form; Dyslexia: What
is It Really? presentation; the
Orton-Gillingham Associate Level
training; the Resilience in Action:
Reaching Adolescents While
Building on Their Strengths medical
forum; and an exhibit on twice
exceptional children at the Pediatric
Association of Hawaii Conference.
Other community events included
presentations at Hawaii Buddhist
Academy, New Horizons at
Punahou, and the Adolescent
Spring Conference at Windward
Community College.
No, they aren’t your traditional students. These participants
are adults who work with students who learn differently
– public and private school teachers, home-school parents,
diagnosticians, speech language therapists, school
administrators and so many others. They are attending one
of Assets’ professional workshops to discover how to better
understand, motivate and assist
those in their care. They leave these
sessions with a game plan; some
also come away with more personal
discoveries.
One recent participant, a bright,
eager twenty-something just
starting her career in teaching, was
enrolled in the Assets’ sponsored
intensive four-week Slingerland
training this summer. She was
progressing through the daily
presentations, tutorials, case
studies and discussions, when
she announced that she wanted to
research the human side of dyslexia.
She questioned how dyslexia is
identified in the absence of test data
and asked when can individuals first
sense that they are dyslexic? She
recalled how as a child she read too
slowly, was reluctant to read orally
in class and felt she had not studied
“hard enough.” Thinking aloud she
wondered if she could be dyslexic.
We deeply appreciate the
volunteers, businesses and donors
who enable us to bring these
activities to fruition. In particular, we
are grateful to George and Mary
Wessberg for their scholarship
support and to generous grant
funders including First Hawaiian
Foundation, Friends of Hawaii Charities, James & Abigail
Campbell Family Foundation, Sidney Stern Memorial Trust
and the Margaret Watt Edwards Foundation.
Professional development can
lead to many new discoveries. It can become a journey of
educational pursuits as well as personal connections, with
both helping to create more attuned educators who are better
