Letter From The Pastor
Dear Parishioners,
As our nation celebrates Independence Day on Monday, we conclude the Fortnight for Freedom initiative
of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Let us beseech the Lord to grant us peaceful days, free from
coercion and fear, in order to be good American citizens and faithful Catholics. I encourage you to attend Mass on
Monday at 8:00 a.m. to pray for our nation. The parish offices and the Conesa Center will be closed in observance
of the holiday.
Please welcome to our parish Father Paul Ngaoni, a priest of the Archdiocese of Imphal, India, which is also
Father Augustine’s home archdiocese. Father Paul is presently studying Canon Law at the Catholic University of
Louven in Belgium. For the summer months, he is working through an internship with our diocesan tribunal and
will be available for weekend sacramental assistance here. As Father Augustine is away this weekend preaching a
mission appeal on behalf of the Imphal Archdiocese, please keep the success of his appeal in your prayers.
Thank you to the members of the Council of Catholic Women who sponsored a Bingo luncheon last
Thursday for the benefit of a new set of votive candles for the statue of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta which will
be installed in the church this upcoming fall after her canonization. The dedicated work of the CCW is always a
blessing to our parish and I encourage all women of the parish to consider membership.
Happy Independence Day! May the Lord bless you, your families and our nation – Father Kovanis

FOOD PANTRY
COLLECTION
THIS WEEKEND
Bereavement Support Group
Can you use more groceries?
If you are struggling
to make ends meet for
any reason, Our Lady’s
Pantry can provide you
with some food relief.
The summer session of the Bereavement Support Group
will begin on Wednesday, July 20, 1:00 p.m., and will
continue for six weeks in the Conesa Center. This support
group is based on the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic
Church. It is completely confidential and will cover
topics such as the spiritual elements of grief and healing,
surviving stress and loneliness, and working through
anger and confusion. Group size will be limited to 10
people. Registration is now open for those who have lost a
loved one. If you were part of a bereavement group in the
past, but feel you need a refresher course; this is a good
opportunity for reaffirmation. For more information or
to register, contact Pam Hadden at 634-2328
or [email protected].
The pantry is open Saturday mornings between 7:30
a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
“Our supply of food is not always consistent but, most
weeks, we can give you a big box of food. Boxes are
filled with cereal, fruits, vegetables (including beans,
tomatoes, and potatoes), soup, pasta, sauce, rice, meat,
and bread, and often some baked goods and snacks.
Most recently, we have had fresh produce, as well.”
Tom and Anita Bullaro
Our Lady’s Pantry is located south of Sun City Center
Blvd. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Migrant
Mission, Wimauma. We are in front of the classroom
building on the far right-hand corner of the campus.

We are continuing to support the 2016 Annual Pastoral
Appeal in our parish. We are grateful to all the families in
our parish that have made a gift or prayer commitment
to this year’s Appeal. Our parish has raised over 88.56%
toward our parish goal.
Thank you to all who have supported this year’s APA.
We are striving for 100 % participation to reach our goal
of $206,640.00. If you have not yet made a commitment
to the 2016 APA, our parish needs your help. Your gift
will help our parish fulfill our financial obligation to
the ministries, programs and services that serve us and
those in need throughout our diocese. Join the many
others and be an active participant in the mission of our
Catholic Church. No gift is too small. Every gift makes a
difference.
