This destination is set along a coastal strip of more than 100 miles wide,
begining in the Ameca River (just minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta
International Airport), and extending up north to the colonial town of San
Blas.
This exceptional destination holds magic pictoresque towns, the Sierra de
Vallejo Biosphere Reserve with coastal lagoons, mangroves and wetlands,
home of crocodiles, sea turtles, and endemic birds; the Isabel Island and

Nuevo Vallarta - With three miles of fine
goleen sand surrounded by mangrove
vegetation, Nuevo Vallarta is the scene of
two world-class golf courses, a pair of
sophisticated, well-equiped marinas, more
than 6 miles of navegable canals, an
enclosed, air-conditioned shopping mall,
hotels and resorts of the most deluxe
category, two dolphin centers, and a water
park.
Flamingos - Founded on the area surrounding the famous Flamingos Golf Course, is
a well-known tourist town with a number of
hotels, resorts and real estate opportunities. There are three lakes in the area: La
Vejiga Lake, El Quelele Lake (soon to be
declared a Natural Protected Arean, and La
Cortada Lake, next to a crocodile habitat

Bucerías - With one of the longest uninterrupted
beaches on the Riviera Nayarit, this is a traditional
Mexican town with warm local population and cobblestoned steets. The typical main plaza features a
numerous seafood restaurants and seaside clubs for
dining and relaxing, some with live music. It has a
charming handcrafts market and a variety of galleries
with amazing artist creations.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle - This fishermen town is a
tropical paradise and soon will have a World Class
Marina. The 380-slip marina will provide safe mooring
for yachts as well as large sailing vessels. In the palapas
along the Manzanilla beach and in the town restaurants
you will find the tasty and typical dishes of the region.
There is a Huichol Gallery and every Wednesday threre
is a bazaar area.
Destiladeras - This three-mile stretch of pristine sandy
beaches is a coastal paradise ideal for surfing.
Costa Banderas - Five miles of dazzling beach with jungle enviroment, rock formations,
and clear-blue waters, are the perfect set for any imaginable recreational activity, on
land or on sea.
Punta de Mita –This place with a unique beauty, features luxurious resorts, warm-blue
waters and an amazing 18-hole golf course. Very near are the Marieta Islands, a
national ecological sanctuary well-known for the off-shore reefs that provide wonderful
snorkeling and undersea diving.

Litibú - One mile of goleen, sparkling sand with gentle waves. The surrounding
areas offer a wide variety of recreational activities, like:ecoturism safaries, whale
watching and turtle releases.
Sayulita –This bohemian surfing village features a number of restaurants,
charming Huichol and Cora artwork, and seaside bars. Camping is an option as
well-positioned resorts, luxurious villas and spas. Internationally recognized as a
major surfing destination, Sayulita hosts an annual competition in December.
San Francisco - The comfortable seaside town is also home to the newly established Polo Club, that has gained notoriety for its exciting events, held from November through May. Villas and resorts provide all variety of activities in the area. “San
Pancho” has a reputation for good food, and there are many restaurants where you
can try a wide variety of delectable dishes.
Lo de Marcos - This small town offer a friendly atmosphere and a number of restaurants and cafes providing local cuisine. A nearby driving range is becoming an
attraction. There is a fish farm and a turtle sanctuary nearby.

Punta Raza - Unexplored beaches sheltered by a mountain
covered in a emerald jungle vegetation, ideal for bird
watching. A good sugestion is to visit the Canalam estuary
and the Pimintillera Lagoon in El Monteón.
El Capomo - A small cove with beautiful beaches perfect for
surfing. The jungle enviroment has navegable estuaries, a
natural habitat for crocodiles and many birds. The area is a
very good option for camping and sea turtle releases.
Rincón de Guayabitos – It boasts three pristine beaches,
ideal for fishing and scuba diving. Guayabitos Beach features
a delightful parade of restaurants and a beautiful panoramic
view of the Cangrejo and Coral Islands. There is a nearby
9-hole golf tours at El Monteón. Just 6 miles away there is an
archeological site, Santuario del Rey, located in Altavista.
La Peñita de Jaltemba - This coastal town offers seafood
delicacies under a palapa on the beach. It is known for its
variety of nightime entertainment with bars and nightclubs.

Chacala - The main beach has strong
surf, Las Cuevas, features three cooling
caves, Chacalilla Beach, lures visitors
with its pacific waves, and La Caleta is
a surfing heaven. The place offers
some guest services and spas. Nearby
is the Encantada Lagoon, perfect for
horseback rides and bird watching.
Las Varas - It has a Community
Museum, with an exhibit of fossils and
ceremonial utensils. There are few
restaurants offering regional cuisine. In
the surroundings is the Mataiza
Lagoon, a great place for camping and a boat ride.
Boca de Chila – The landscape is decorated with lakes, springs and marshes. An
excelent choice for camping, as well as turtle and whale watching. Ancient
petroglyphs have been found here, and are on display in Zacualpan, a village 5
miles away.
Punta de Custodio - La Tortuga and La
Punta are ideal for surfing and kayak,
and the Platanitos Beach is a great
place to enjoy with the family.

Isabel Island is 44 miles away, this is a volcanic island with cliffs

Isla de Mexcaltitlán - A small island of floating mangroves and
lowlands that is reputed to be the legendary Aztlan, birthplace and
home city of the Aztec civilization. It is a unique place , since in its
small area holds a well-developed urbana rea with streets that
became navegable canal during rainy season, a central plaza, a
church and an interesting museo.

It was founded in 1532 as the capital of Nueva Galicia. The city is a combination
of modern buildings and a rich history legacy shown in its streets and traditions.
Some of its attractios are: the Regional Museum of Anthropology and History,
with a display of art and pieces from the pre-Hispanic cultures of Western
Mexico; the Cuatro Pueblos Museum, featuring art work from ethnic groups of
the region; the Amado Nervo House-Museum, with documents and belongings
of the famoues poet; the Juan Escuti House-Museum, enduring tribute to the
boy-hero of Chapultepec; the Emilia Ortiz Museum, it features paintings and
sculptures; the Tepic Cathedral, built from 1804 to 186 in a Neo-Gothic style; the
La Cruz de Zacate Church and Ex-Convent; the Government Palace built in the
19th century; and the Portal Bola de Oro Hotel, once considered the finest in
Western Mexico.
There are some other attractions in the
