Gibson School is a 1914 Collegiate
Gothic Schoolhouse named after John
Morison Gibson and built by architect
Alfred W. Peene located at 601 Barton
Street in Hamilton Ontario.
Built for people, this building boasts 12
foot wide hallways, high ceilings, very
large windows and tons of brick.
Situated on Barton Street in Hamilton
Ontario, this building will once again
have great presence.
Over the years by a large gymnasium
was added as well as the addition
of school administration offices. These
additions will be converted to a cafe
and retail spaces (some will have
accommodation above).
This grand building will be preserved
on the exterior with little needed in the
common areas in the interior as the 100
years of wax on the floors has done a
great job!
