CUFFLEY CAMP INFORMATION
WHAT’S IT LIKE AT CUFFLEY CAMP?
MY CHILD WILL BE STAYING IN:
WILLOWS (4W) AND BRACKENDENE
4B will be staying in Brackendene
Village
4W will be staying in Willows Village
Some activities will involve both
classes together
Some activities will involve one class
at a time

WILL MY CHILD EAT ENOUGH?
 BREAKFAST – bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast,
cereal, waffles
 LUNCH – packed lunch. Baguette with a variety of
fillings, crisps, fruit, biscuits
 DINNER – chicken pie, vegetarian wrap, pasta
bolognese, garlic bread, jelly with fruit, apple
crumble
 SNACKS – biscuits, fruit
…AND SO TO BED.

NOW THE REAL THING…
Groups – children have all requested two
friends, with whom they would like to
share a tent
The teachers are in the process of collating
the information ready for camp
Some tents hold up to 4 children; some up
to 7
Everyone will have at least one buddy with
WHAT TO BRING – KIT LIST
 Please refer to the KIT LIST given out at this meeting
 No electronic items
 A torch with spare batteries
 Waterproof jacket
 Sun cream
 Hat/cap
 Sleeping bag and pillow
 A maximum of £5 for the shop (to be kept in a labelled
purse, wallet or small bag)
 Wash bag (wash cloth, toothbrush and toothpaste)
SAFETY
Risk management assessments have been
carried out by the school and the Centre
prior to the trip
Mrs Blacker, Miss Bragg and Mrs Statham
have all been on the Centre training course
There is a health and safety talk for
children and staff on the first day
Children are given a tour of the camp and
their village
They are told about hazards, potential
dangers and risks
SAFETY
All activities carry a risk. Being in a new
environment carries a risk. These risks are
measured using the Enfield and Herts Risk
Management Guidelines
We minimise these risks by ensuring the
children follow clear instructions, listen
carefully to adults and take care of
themselves and each other
We will do everything possible to ensure your
BEHAVIOUR
It is an expectation that your child
will behave responsibly at camp
Poor behaviour will not be tolerated
In
exceptional
circumstances,
parents will be asked to collect their
ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE
MONDAY
Transport to the Centre
will be by car
Parents are asked to make arrangements to
drop their child at the Centre between
9.10am and 9.30am
Please complete the form regarding transport
If you are unable to take your child, please
arrange with another parent and sign the
TRANSPORT FOR THE WEDNESDAY
The children will travel back by coach
Arrival is at school at 12.30pm on
Wednesday
All children to be collected from just
inside the school gates at 12.30pm
All children to leave school at this time
