Five Animal Frolics, Qigong, and Taijiquan Eight
The Five Animal Frolics are a set of therapeutic exercises created by the famous 3rd century healer,
Hua Tuo. They take their inspiration from the movements of the crane, bear, deer, monkey, and tiger. The set
heals, strengthens and maintains health, and brings calm through graceful and playful movements.
Deng Ming-Dao has been practicing Taoism,
Chinese martial arts, and qigong for more than forty
years. He is the author of nine books, including 365 Tao,
Scholar Warrior, Everyday Tao, The Living I Ching, and The
Lunar Tao. His books have been translated into sixteen
languages. He has taught through various martial
arts schools, including
the classes of his Taoist
master, Kwan Saihung,
the subject of the book,
Chronicles of Tao.
Pearl Huang, founder of the Ru Yi Studio of
Multicultural Arts, was born and educated in China.
She is a performer, artist and educator. Pearl teaches
