Dear KINDERGARTEN Families,
Our KINDERGARTEN PREP summer program is designed to help your child adjust and transition to the elementary setting. During their time with us, they will work to strengthen their phonemic awareness meaning that
they will identify letter names and sounds, they will build a strong foundation in counting, recognizing and writing numbers through 50 and, most importantly, they will learn to collaborate, communicate and socialize in an
academic setting. All of this will be done through engaging, hands-on and enjoyable experiences.
KINDERGARTEN PREP will begin on June 20, 2016 and is offered as a complete 7 week program, or weekto-week, as you see fit for your child and family schedule. This program provides a perfect way for students to
develop and improve their abilities to think logically, speak clearly, and interact well with others before entering
a structured Kindergarten program.
If your child is already registered to begin in our Kindergarten Program at Merryhill Millcreek, then your space
for the KINDERGARTEN PREP summer program has already been reserved. Simply fill out the form enclosed with the weeks in which you would like your child to participate, and return it to the front desk. That’s itthere is no need to pay any additional fees until the first day of the program. At that point you will pay weekly
for the weeks that your child attends.
If your child is NOT registered for Merryhill Millcreek Kindergarten program and you wish to attend our
KINDERGARTEN PREP summer program, then please fill out and return the registration form included, indicating the weeks of attendance, and include a one-time non-refundable $100 registration fee.
The advantage of attending all 7 weeks of the KINDERGARTEN PREP summer program; the program is
taught by the kindergarten teachers so your child will get to know them before school starts, they will meet
friends who will be their classmates in the fall, your child will become familiar with staff and the campus.

The registration fee is non-refundable. There will be no credits or refunds for absences, holidays, or illnesses. No modifications
can be made on program dates or costs.
Payments are due each week on Monday by 9:00am. Credit Card (must fill out credit card application form, 2% credit card fee),
cash, check, or money order accepted for payment. Checks made out to- Merryhill School
Swimming lesson fees must be paid one week before the session starts.
No refund or Fee Proration when a child is sick or absent.
I agree to pay to the terms and conditions, including the obligation to pay to the school all charges for tuition and fees and in all

Nap room just for summer we do not nap in kindergarten during the
school year. If napping bring small crib sheet, small pillow. There will
be an awake room for non-nappers.

Water Play every Friday– Bring Swimsuit, Water Shoes, Sunscreen and
Towel


-KINDERGARTEN PREP PERMISSION TO APPLY SUNSCREEN FORM
Sunscreen application occurs at a minimum of 4 times per day. Please ensure that this form is signed by
you and on file at the school as soon as possible.
Every child must have a bottle of sunscreen labeled and kept at school. Our staff will collect the bottles
of sunscreen from the children to keep in a container in his/her classroom. If your child has any allergies to
sunscreen please make us aware of that and ensure that he/she has their own sunscreen at all times.
We will keep additional bottles of sunscreen at camp in case someone runs out or forgets to bring it with
them that day.

For Prescribed Medications:
1. Parent/Guardian(s) must provide a letter from his/her doctor requesting that the school administer the medication regarding dosage, stating under which circumstances or which schedule
medications should be administered and describe any adverse reactions the school personnel
should be aware of.
2. All prescribed medication(s) must be in the original pharmacy container or box with the official
pharmacy prescription label securely attached a new sealed container.
For Non-Prescribed Medications:
1. Parent/Guardian(s) must provide a note from the parent asking for the medication to be administered according to dosing directions on the original container and giving permission to NLCI
personnel to administer the medication
2. All Non-prescribed medication(s) must be in a new sealed container.
Additional Medication Information:
When your child has a prescribed/non-prescribed medication that needs to be administered during the school day, please fill out the Medical Release Form located at the front desk and drop off
your child’s medication. A Medical Release & Modification Form must be completed when your
child has any long term medications such as an epi-pen or inhaler which will be stored at the
school facility.

Merryhill Biting Policy
Though biting is considered for some children to be a means of communication, we work diligently to
prevent such occurrences at our schools. Due to the potential severity of injuries, Merryhill Schools
believes that it is necessary to implement the following biting policy:

The parents of both the child who bit and the child who was bitten will be contacted.

If a child begins to display a repetitive pattern of biting, a parent conference will be held to discus appropriate consequences.

If a child bites excessively or aggressively, with or without provocation, he/she will be asked to
leave the school for the remainder of the day or will be asked to take a period of time away from
the school at the discretion of the principal.
Re-enrollment in Merryhill Schools will be considered only after the behavior has been altered, and
at the discretion of the principal.
