The cooperation of the public is required to successfully implement these road closures. The closures will aid in the
preservation of the Gunnison Sage-grouse and may assist in reducing impacts on residents and visitors of
Gunnison County from the Federal listing of the grouse under provisions of the Endangered Species Act.
These closures apply to all motor vehicles. Do not park at the closures in a manner that blocks access through the
closure gates. All non-motorized trail users are also requested to use Gunnison Basin roads/trails only after 9 a.m.
during this period to help reduce disturbance to Sage-grouse.

Meet Maddox: His situation is
very urgent and he needs a
home or foster care ASAP. He
is approximately 6-7 years old,
and is currently living at a vet's
office. Maddox is diabetic
and FIV positive, though he
has not shown signs of FIV and
his diabetes is fully under
control with insulin shots twice a day. The FIV virus is ONLY
transferable to other cats through bite wounds or
scratches, so he will need to be in a home with no other
cats and should remain indoors. The vet says Maddox
has been a very easy patient, but he needs a home not a cage. His current medical supplies cost $25/month.
Please call 970.641.1890 if you can help Maddox!
