Experiencing God Today
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.
Luke 4:18 Isaiah 61:1
Teilhard de Chardin a wonderful scholar, a great scientist, and a devoted Jesuit Priest of the last
century wrote in his book The Divine Milieu: “The understanding of evolution is an attempting to
enlarge the traditional boundaries of science so as to include a study of the human person in
relationship to the material world and in relationship with the Divine.” This statement seemed to me
very scientific and hard to understand within a spiritual reflection. However, later in his book,
Teilhard explains the importance of being aware of the world surrounding us in order to see the
infinite manifestation of God through His creation. To achieve this, it is very important to have a
deep level of awareness and consciousness of the Experience of God in our life, midst, and history.
The beautiful idea that every single experience of God is different, and at the same time unique,
helps us to contemplate his action in singular instances of our life and ministry. God’s mercy
embraces our reality, our world, our families, and our relationship with others in the present
moment. Therefore, I strongly believe that we have to be fully conscious that God is speaking
through the personal story of our lives.
Furthermore, the experience of God is enriched in our individual and intimate relationship with the
Father following the example of Jesus. It is the ability of sensing God in all his majesty, power,
grace, and love in our mist and in our lives. It is also the capacity of seeing God in all his humility,
kindness, and meekness present in the face of our brothers and sisters, especially in those who are
suffering. Hence, experiencing God today means to know that He is present with us, even when we
cannot see Him. His presence feels stronger in difficult moments of tribulation.
Religious experience is a synonym of our certainty of God’s love and care for all of us. It is the full
and deep awareness of a loving Father present in our midst.

Daily Rosary
Recently, we lost a dear friend,
Spencer Badger, who, with his
wife Margaret, initiated praying
the daily rosary before Mass
many, many years ago. Because
of their devotion to the Blessed
Mother, a number of daily
communicants
joined
the
Badger’s and so, a tradition was born. Presently,we are
finding it difficult continuing the daily rosary before Mass
with only one or two people participating. Perhaps
together we could renew tis wonderful way to honor our
Blessed Lady.
