Welcome to the 2014-15 School Year! The
newsletter this year will be coming home from
the Fire Ridge office via email as well as hard
copy with students in Friday folders. My goal is
to keep it to two pages – maximum of three!

I am looking forward to a great year at Fire
Ridge. It is our goal to work collaboratively
with families to provide the best education for
each child at Fire Ridge. Please call or email
your child’s teachers or myself with any
questions or concerns. We believe that a
partnership with open communication is vital
to our success.

Birthday Treats
Last spring, many of you completed a parent
survey. The results showed that the teachers and
students are doing very well at Fire Ridge. One
area of concern that came up was the amount of
sweet treats students eat at school. We also have
many students with allergies to certain foods
prohibiting them from sharing in this classroom
activity. So, we are making a change for this
upcoming year. Students will no longer bring
birthday treats to school to share with their class.
We are going to recognize birthdays in classrooms
– just without the treat. Students will also get to
select a birthday book from the office. During Dr.
Seuss’s birthday week, we will have a big Fire Ridge
birthday party for all students!

WALKING CLUB BEGINS
TUESDAY, AUGUST 12TH
All students are invited to join
Walking Club. Walking Club begins at 7:55 a.m. and ends
when the first bell rings at 8:10 a.m. Students should meet
on the east playground and wait for direction from Mr.
Dahl. For those who do not want to participate in Walking
Club, please arrive at 8:10 a.m.
