President’s Letter
Hello Fellow Club Members:
It was certainly good to see so many members and their
guests on Bavarian Night- we had over 100 people for
dinner that night! Thank you Silvia, Skip, and crew for all
your hard work for such a delicious, traditional meal!
Also, the Las Vegas Bavarians and the Dummkopfs
provided excellent entertainment, to make for a very
special evening.
A big thanks to Steve Oldham and the rest of the team
that helped with the Memorial Golf Tournament in
Laughlin - it was a nice way to relax together and honor
our dear-departed fellow golfers.
Christmas is coming soon and our annual Christmas
Party is Saturday, December 13, with Prime Rib Dinner
being served. Please prepay your $25 per person by
check by Dec. 6 to make your reservation.
On Wednesday, December 24, Christmas Eve, we will
serve free eggnog as is the annual tradition of the club,
and Saturday Dec. 27 is the return of “Apres-Tree”,
Krampus Night which was a fun addition to our holiday
calendar last year.
Remember to stop in for Vintage Las Vegas jazz music
night every Tuesday with doors opening at 6:30pm, and
cards on Friday night.
I would like to take a moment for a big end of year
“Danke schön!” for the all members who give of their
time to cook, tend bar, serve, cashier, organize,
decorate, coordinate and help with community service
during 2014. Let’s all look forward to a great New Year in
2015!

Schützen Group
The Schützen Group practices at our club the first
Saturday of every month at 11am. We are looking for
new members, either Male or Female. If you are

The Dance Group will have our annual Christmas Party in
Dec. After that we will be taking a break until Mar 2015

Las Vegas Vagabonds
Lord Karneval began his reign of the season and the Las
Vegas Vagabonds held their opening at the German
American Social Club. There was a nice size crowd and
those who did not know of Karneval had a great time.
We are now preparing for the GAMGA , German
American Mardi Gras Association, Gala at the Tuscany
Hotel and Casino. It will be in January. Please contact
Tim Phillips if you have any questions.
Oktoberfest News
November and December were busy months, so we are
planning our Okoberfest helper appreciation party on
January 11, 2015, If you helped at the festival, please put

Bowman-Clark Memorial Golf Tournament
We had a wonderful time in Laughlin full of fun, food,
drama and a near drowning. We have to really thank the
48 people that joined us for the Bowman-Clark
Memorial Golf Tournament. It was a great group. This
year we tried a different golf course and got a much
bigger hospitality room. The folks at the Chaparral Golf
Club were marvelous and we were able to use carts
which really helped our older players. Thanks, Art Ruckle
for setting this up.
Our official starter was Jerry Clark who told us to have a
fun game and "don't cheat"!! Good job, Jerry
Special thanks to Erika Gries, Beverly Long and Karin
Oldham for coordinating the hospitality stuff.
Also, thanks to Skip Hibbert, Art Ruckle, Frank Haelle for
cooking the brats and burgers, Silvia Brunn for the
potato salad and Art Ruckle for the cole slaw.
We want to thank Robin Covey, Frank Haelle and Art
Ruckle for their generous prize donations.
