* Every year The Slovene Tourist Board
Association organizes a competition for primary
school students. Last year a group of 5 students
from Year 9 won a silver award for their
project work. This year we entered the
competition again, we included 11 students
from Year 8 and 2 students from Year 6. We are
planning to work together with the native
speaker who works at our school. We asked a
local librarian and historian who is going to
help us with the local myths and legends which
are the topic of this year's project.

GLAVA
Last year we took part in a project organized
by the Developmental Agency of Upper
Carniola. The aim was to find and preserve the
old names of houses in the town and its
surroundings. The students were visiting
owners of the houses and trying to get
information on names, origins and stories
connected with the house and its owners.

- a visit of a Piali Ashar representative and a lady who runs sharing-givinghelping activities at Light of Hope charity organization,
- films, power point presentations on various cultures and the partner

- a meetings with pupils' parents in order to discuss the project topics,
- literary work, writing poems, stories, comics,
- taking part in school performances,
- cultural days (our culture vs. Culture of others'),
- exploring, presenting holidays/ festivals in Slovenia
and around the world,

- Art workshops,
- visits from the librarians from the local library,
- a visit from a fairy tale teller,
- essays – A strole with the help of imagination,
- voluntary work in the kindergarden (9th graders),
- voluntary work of older pupils running the sports
break (various sport activities during
the 20-minute break in the morning),
- mountaneering club (a monthly trip to the mountains
(1st to 6th graders),
