MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT>
TheAlumniAssociation of the University of Colombo which was formed in 1983, is now
firmly established as an institution working for the good of the University, especially the
students in the welfare and development and in providing opportunities to its alumni
members to socialize and network. ln achieving our objectives mainly of student welfare,
we are very much concerned about our undergraduates, who need further attention and
assistance in continuing their studies successfully.
"Sarasavi Sathsara 2010" is one of the projects designed as a fund raiser, primarily aimed
at a scholarship scheme for needy undergraduates. The best time to plant a tree is twenty
five years ago. The second best time is today. Let us plant a tree for the future by minimizing
the difficulties of the student population of the university, by stretching a helping hand to the
best of our ability.
consider it as a prime duty of mine to mark a word of gratitude towards the numerous people including the Vice Chancellor,
University of Colombo who helped us in numerous ways in making the events of this quarter a success. I also take this
opportunity to wish all of you a very happy year 2011.
I
