Get immersed in the spirit of the Carnevale! The Carnevale di Venezia is
a world-famous festival held in Venice, one of the most romantic towns in
the world. Masks have always been an important feature of the Venetian
carnival. On this journey, we’ll stroll along the maze of waterways and
visit the island of Murano, the Glass Island, for a private glassblowing
demonstration, and Burano, famous for its colorful cottage houses along
its narrow canal streets. Each day will be interspersed with photography
sessions, including a few pre-dawn excursions.

Welcome to Venice!

Meet at Venezia Giulia-Stazione Santa Lucia at 12 pm for a boat shuttle to
the hotel. Meet at the hotel at 1 pm for a light lunch and introductions.
Then, head out for a guided tour of Venice and cultural explanation of the
history of Carnevale di Venezia. Before dinner we will jump right into the
Carnevale action by attending the grand opening, a spectacular parade of
decorated and lighted boats on the Rio Cannaregio. This evening we will
have a fabulous welcome dinner together.

on your own we head to the

DAY 4
VENICE

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a private gondola boat ride and visit to the Gondoliers workshop, where gondolas have been crafted by hand for
centuries. We’ll meet and photograph master craftsmen who carry on this centuries old tradition. Meet at 7pm for aperitivo and stroll to a fabulous
Venetian seafood dinner.
DAY 5

VENICE
Meals - B
Today, we’ll depart pre-dawn for photo excursion to capture the best light
and early daily life of Venice. We’ll return to the hotel for late breakfast
and have free time for editing. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Photography
Museum of Casa dei Tre Oci.
DAY 6
Highlights
RIALTO BRIDGE

Today again we’ll depart pre-dawn again to photograph the morning
market and the bustling morning activities around the Rialto Bridge. This
evening, we’ll have our photo project presentations followed by a farewell
dinner and celebration.
DAY 7

ARRIVEDERCI!
This morning, after breakfast around 9 am we part ways. There is a ferry that
brings you back to the Venice airport.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
GETTING TO LIDO DI VENEZIA
Fly to Venice Marco Polo airport (VCE). From the airport, take the frequent
Alilaguna LINEA BLU ferry (www.alilaguna.it/en/lines/lines-map), approx. 1
hour, to Lido S.M.E. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the station.
DEPARTING FROM LIDO DI VENEZIA
After breakfast around 9 am we will walk to the Lido S.M.E station to catch
the ferry back to Venice airport.

INSURANCE, TERMS & CONDITIONS
Insurance
Ciclismo Classico will not assume responsibility or liability for any loss or damage of personal effects or for any injury or
loss during the duration of the tour. Therefore, we highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance. Information on
travel insurance will be sent to you via email once trip deposit is received. We recommend MH Ross, but travelers may
choose the insurance carrier of their choice.
Cancellations and Refunds
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing as soon as possible to Ciclismo Classico. Exceptions to their
cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. There is no refund for
unexpectedly leaving a trip early or arriving late. The purchase of short-term travel insurance policy is strongly
recommended. Cancellation fees are determined as followed:
Days before departure – Cancellation fee
121+ days - 50% of the deposit*
91-120 days - 100% of the deposit*
61-90 days - 30% of the trip price
31-60 days - 60% of the trip price
31-44 days - 100% of the trip price
*You may transfer your trip deposit to another departure in the same tour season up to 90 days before your original
departure with payment of a $100 per person transfer fee. Prices quoted are subject to adjustment without prior
notification. OR your deposit (currently $600) may be carried forward to the following year as a credit toward the final
balance of a tour. At the time of booking, we will ask for another $600 deposit to secure your spot. Carried-forward
credits expire at the end of the year to which they are applied.
Alterations to the tour itinerary
Sometimes modifications may be made to the itinerary. We will notify you of any changes that may affect your arrival,
departure or lodging. Any changes to the program are made in the best interest and safety of the group.

address. We cannot confirm reservations without a deposit. Final payment is due 90 days before departure payable by
