Technical Bugs!
To help celebrate National Insect Week,
Zoo2U were invited to the That’s
Manchester News studio for an
interview live on the air! In addition to the
lovely Melissa and Nathan we brought
some tarantulas, scorpions, millipedes
and a praying mantis to help showcase
how awesome bugs can be. The
interview went fantastically and the crew
were intrigued by the range of creepy
crawlies we had brought! Even leading
to our interviewer Chyaz holding the
baby millipedes while we were filming!
Birthday Bonanza!
A very special mention to all of our
birthday boys and girls from this
month! Happy Birthday to Evelyn
(1), Rex (8), Ted (7), Maddie (9) &
Bella (7) we are glad to have been
a part of your special days and we
wish you all the best for the future.
Bell of the Ball!
Towards the end of June we here
at Zoo2U were blessed with an
adorable newcomer to the team; a
beautiful female skunk kit. As part
of our third year celebrations we
hosted a “Name the skunk kit”
competition asking for people to
suggest a name and a reason
behind it. By the time the
competition finished we had
received a phenomenal list of well
thought out names, making it very

difficult to decide! After much
deliberation we decided on the
name Bella, meaning “beautiful”
suggested by Helen Gill. A huge
thanks to all those who suggested
names and don't forget to keep an
eye out for Bella at our events in
the future!
Animal of the Month
By far the largest animal here at
Zoo2U and perhaps the most
beautiful, Marie is monstrous in
size but delightful in nature. Being
a Dumeril's Boa hailing from
southern Madagascar, Marie loves
it hot and humid in her enclosure
which she shares with her smaller
sister Connie. Dumeril's boas are
fantastic ambush predators using
their stunning markings to help
blend into the leaflitter where they
wait for prey such as small
10 years of LBVC!
The Leonard Brothers Veterinary
Centres have been providing stellar care
to the animals of Cheshire and further
afield for 10 years now. To mark this
fantastic achievement LBVC hosted a
wonderful open day with Zoo2U and our
mammals, birds, other snakes and
even lemurs!
