Father Juan's 25 years priesthood
anniversary celebration:
To celebrate Fr. Juan's anniversary, we will
have the following events: On Saturday,
May 28, Mass in his honor at 5:30 p.m.,
show of videos of his ordination and presentation of gifts.
On the same day and after the 5:30 Mass, we will all
gather at the school gym for a meal of camaraderie,
music and fun. You are all invited to come with your
family to render Fr. Juan our cordial thanks for everything he does for our church. You are all welcomed
and encouraged to bring a covered dish of your choice
to share with friends at this joyous gathering. At this
time, we will also show a few more pictures and videos
provided by Fr. Juan of his home town in Mexico and
his ordination 25 years ago. The Mexican group Los
Mariachis will be on site for your enjoyment and dancing. We would like to encourage both congregations,
Anglo and Hispanic, to attend and enjoy this event.
The purpose of this reunion is not only to honor Fr.
Juan, but also to give both communities in our church,
Anglo and Hispanic, an opportunity to mingle, socialize
and get to know each other.

Dear Friends of Holy Spirit,
I hope you are enjoying the
warmer weather and beautiful
Spring days. With the coming
of Spring also comes the cutting of grass. A strong “Thank
you” to all those who volunteered to help
with our grass cutting this summer. It is
very much appreciated.
This week I will be at St. Meinrad for
my personal retreat. As a priest we are
to make a retreat once a year. St.
Meinrad has always been a special place
for me and I know I will enjoy being there.
Say a prayer for me that it will be a week
of renewal in God’s Love. I’ll return for
the evening Mass on Friday.
The upkeep and care for our property
remains a constant challenge. Over the
last few weeks we have had some “tuckpointing” done to the stone exterior of the
school, parish center and church. This is
a process to remove the deteriorating cement between the stones and replace it.
(Have you noticed some of the water
stains on the walls of the church?) This
is an ongoing challenge. We are also
looking to replace several of our roofs
(church, parish center and garage/
daycare). While our financial reserves
are not great, we do believe we have the
funds to achieve this. I will keep you updated.
God’s Blessings and Love,
Eucharistic Adoration
May 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Come share a few hours with Him.
"Perpetual Adoration extends its influence far
beyond the individual adorers, touching their homes
and families and reaching out to the parish community and beyond. (Pope Paul IV)

Padre Douglas has informed us that the
school band in Güinope, Honduras, is still in
need of an alto saxophone. Padre Douglas
was in Texiguat for 3 years and was transferred to this new parish. He is still trying to
find a parish, like Holy Spirit, to have a twinning relationship with. If you have a used
alto saxophone that you can donate or
know how to obtain one, please call John

Bible Study
A new bible study begins the first
week of May at the following 3 times;
Monday evening, May 2, 7-9:00 p.m.,
Thursday afternoon, May 5, 12:30-2:00 p.m., and
Thursday evening 7-9:00 p.m.
Since this is the Year of Mercy, our study is titled
“Doors of Mercy”. It is an 8 week journey through
salvation history, from God’s merciful promises to
Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David, showing
how God offers his people mercy, even after they
stray from Him again and again.
Ministry Fair
The Ministry Fair at Holy Spirit is coming up. It will

Addiction Recovery Speaker
Join Christine Turo-Shields, LCSW,
LCAC for a lively discussion of how to
overcome the grips of addiction by accessing support and resources which promote healing and recovery. Additionally, information will be
provided about the Substance Addiction Ministry
(SAM), which offers hope, healing and reconciliation
to those afflicted and affected by the many faces of
addiction.
Addiction afflicts many, and affects even
more. Many consider addiction a "disease of
choice," however, the reality is that those suffering
have an illness that they didn't cause, can't control
and can't cure....but it is their responsibility to recover.

amamos. Las personas que te
encomendamos sufren mucho, afligidos

Alguien
estará ahí para ayudarles de 1:00 a 1:40 pm. Les pedimos una
