U LYSSES
Built and equipped for action, Ulysses combines
tough, go-anywhere expedition capability with a
luxurious interior that surrounds guests in great
comfort and style.
Launched in 2006, the 59.6m (196ft) Ulysses has
a rugged steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 1500hp engines, she
can be self-sufficient for long periods. At a cruising
speed of 12.5 knots, her range is 6,000 nautical miles
and she is fully equipped to take guests well off the
beaten track.
Ulysses features an impressive well-deck to accommodate a wide range of support and recreational
craft, including three Rigid Inflatable Boats of
14.5m, 7.3m and 5m. A five-person submarine is
included, along with two jet skis, diving gear and
equipment for fishing and associated water sports.
At sea, guests can observe the operation of the
vessel from the comfort of a large bench seat on the
bridge, with unobstructed views. Ulysses is fully
equipped with state-of-the-art navigation electronics
and worldwide communication systems.
Although Ulysses is geared for action and adventure,
guests are also immersed in a five-deck environment
that can cater for many moods and occasions. The
restaurant-style galley is fully equipped to provide
for guests in a wide range of locations – from the
formal dining room to more relaxed alfresco settings
located on four decks.
The large open-air sundeck offers a 10-person
jacuzzi, bar and BBQ area, a spectacular crows nest
lookout and space for sunlounging. This area is also
fully equipped as a helipad.
Full-beam aft decks on the next three decks provide
plenty of scope for finding solitude in a quiet corner,
or enjoying the company of family and friends. The
200m2 (2000sq ft) skylounge is divided into three
spaces, with a crystal bar and cocktail lounge aft, an
enormous lounge and TV viewing space in the middle and a games room complete with custom-built
black oak pool table forward.
An atrium soaring three floors with galleries on each
level accentuates the great sense of space.
Situated on the bridge deck, the
owners’ stateroom offers privacy
and panoramic views. With its own
lounge, private deck, study and
mirrored bathroom, this full-width
sanctuary exemplifies luxury and
quality.
Guest accommodations are situated on the lower
deck, with mirror-image staterooms flanking a central companionway. Each is distinguished by unique
decor, but have in common luxurious marble ensuite
bathrooms, a desk, sofa and full access to the onboard entertainment system.
Seven guest staterooms offer several accommodation
options. Five feature queensize beds, while the sixth
has two single beds plus two pullman berths. The
seventh is a smaller cabin with two single bunks and
a pullman berth.
Crew accommodations are located forward of the
guest area, with separate access. Seven crew cabins,
each with two bunks and ensuite bathrooms are
provided, with the captain’s suite on the bridge-deck.
