Hello Georgian Bay Day Participant Georgain Bay Day will be held at the Killbear Provincial Park (rain or shine) You have signed up to participate in an exciting Georgian Bay adventure day taking place at Killbear Provincial Park** on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015. To ensure the most enjoyment out of your Killbear day experience, please dress according to the weather, with proper footwear for hiking and rain gear if needed ‐ sunscreen ‐ hat ‐ bug spray (we will have many cans available though). Most of the activities will be taking place outside no matter the weather. The Yellow School Bus will be leaving the Microtel Inn hotel in Parry Sound promptly at 9:00 am and will be heading directly to the parks Visitor Centre for 10:00 am. (Please make your way to the Comfort Inn or Microtel Inn ‐ the bus will drive via the Comfort Inn and Georgian Inn only if you tell us at the Info Desk before Friday!) If you will be driving your own vehicle to the park please notify the Information Desk Staff before the day so we don't wait for you at 9 am, and then you will meet the rest of the group at Killbear’s Visitor Centre by 10:00 am. From 10:45am until 12:45pm you will get to participate in either a guided hike along the Georgian Bay shoreline that will give participants a better look at beautiful Georgian Bay and some of the Canadian Shield's interesting rock faces. Participants will also get a chance to explore the Georgian Bay shoreline on kayaks provided by White Squall. After the first activity, everyone will be shuttled back to the Park's Visitor Centre for a light lunch. Lunch will be from 12:45 pm until 2: 45 pm ‐ please spend some time exploring the area around the Visitor Centre viewing its ecological and historical ecology as well as seeing two resident live snakes. At 2:45 pm participants will switch activities ending at 4:45pm. A light BBQ dinner and drinks will be served at the Visitor Centre from 5:30 pm and the bus will return to Parry Sound hotels
at 8:0 pm. If you wish to explore the park on your
own park maps and trail guides are available. The Visitor Centre does contain a small Nature Shoppe where you may purchase souvenir items during the day time but not after 3 pm. We are all looking forward to an exciting and adventurous day at Killbear Provincial Park, Jessica Schultz & David Stillman
