Application Requirements
• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college
• Current, unencumbered RN license to practice in the
State of Texas
Step 1
1.Nursing CAS Application and non-refundable
application fee
2.Official college transcripts from ALL schools previously
attended sent to NursingCAS
3.Prerequisite and core curriculum courses with a
minimum grade of “C”; all must be completed by the
first class day
4.Official high school transcript sent to NursingCAS
5.Essay/Personal Statement submitted through
NursingCAS
6.One reference required submitted through
NursingCAS
The CON will contact all applicants once NursingCAS
shows application as “verified”.
Once this communication is received, move to Step 2.

1.Apply Texas transfer application & nonrefundable

2.Activate Texas A&M admissions portal, Applicant
Information System (AIS), upon receipt of email
instructions
Important Notes:
• Applicants with foreign credentials must submit an
official transcript evaluation report to NursingCAS and
proof of English proficiency (TOEFL)
• Applicants who completed RN through a bridge (LVN
to RN or EMS to RN) should speak to an advisor for
more information

Prerequisite Courses
Prerequisites may be planned or in progress during the application
cycle, but must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, before
the program start date. The courses may be completed at any
regionally accredited college or university.

It is extremely important that transcripts are
requested EARLY. Enter all information in the
“Colleges Attended” section of the NursingCAS
application and follow instructions to request all
transcripts. Transcripts received after the application
deadline will cause your file to be incomplete.

Texas A&M University offers many financial aid
options to help you pay for college costs. To qualify,
you must complete the FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Proficiency in a foreign language is required. Can be met by
taking two years of same language in high school, 8 college
credits, or through credit by exam.
*Students applying to the RN-to-MSN program must have
completed a 3 semester credit hour course in Elementary
Statistics.
**All students are required to fulfill the 9 credit hour Life &
Physical Sciences core requirement for Texas A&M University.
±If applying from a Texas public institution, may take 3 hours
of math that meets institution’s core. The remaining 3 hours
must come from TAMU core math courses.
