Golden Plains Credit Union supported our members with
$6,000 in scholarships for the 2011/2012 school year.
Thirteen students from different high schools throughout
the state received money to pay for college. These scholarship recipients were strong in academics and active in their
communities and they will be attending a university, local
college or vocational school in the fall. GPCU has been
awarding student members since 2007 and has awarded
$23,500 over that time.

C.U. Succeed GPCU Scholarship Program
Golden Plains Credit Union will be awarding $6,000 in scholarships to deserving
students for the 2012/2013 school year. Thirteen scholarship recipients, who are
GPCU members throughout the state will receive money to pay for college. Chosen
by GPCU Scholarship Committee Members for being strong all-around students,
recipients of the scholarship are required to be GPCU members and a full-time
student. Applications will be available beginning in December 2011 at all locations.
Applicants can also apply online at www.gpcu.org under “Applications.”

Probablemente has visto una sección de
descuento cuando pagas un viaje. No pagues
tu viaje sin usar un código de descuento,

• Buy early and on Tuesdays. If you can book a
flight three to four months in advance, you have
the best chance of getting low airfare. You may
also find better bargains on Tuesdays since many
airlines begin sales on Monday nights and other
airlines will match or lower fares on the same
routes on Tuesdays.

• Travel after a major holiday. Waiting a week and
traveling a week after a big holiday can snag you lower
travel costs on airfare, car rental and hotel stays. Plus
you’ll avoid crowds and long lines!
• Seek out discount codes. You’ve probably noticed a box for a coupon code when you’re at the checkout stage for an online reservation. Don’t leave it blank. If a discount code exists you
can search for codes at sites such as PromotionalCodes.com and CouponWinner.com. Then just enter the code and get
the discount.
• Be an Internet insider. Invitation only sites such as SniqueAway.com and Jetsetter.com offer deep hotel discounts. With
another site, TripAlertz.com, the more people who sign up for a deal, the lower the rate. It pays to read the fine print on
these bargains – they typically require you to book quickly and travel by a certain time.
• Ask about lower rates. Even in the Internet age, a personal phone call can still help
you negotiate a discount. Call a hotel’s front desk or a travel agent and see if you can
get a better deal by talking with a real person.
• Travel with us. Don’t forget to pack your Golden Plains Credit Union debit or credit
card. And manage your finances afar with Golden Plains Online banking. Be sure
to tell us if you’ll be traveling for an extended time or in another country so we’ll know
