For the first time in 34 years, FiraTàrrega opens with a
production of its own. It is a street theatre performance
directed by Chile’s Ignacio Achurra, the artistic director of
the company Patriótico Interesante and one of the most
internationally renowned Latin artists. La ira dels peixos is a
hymn to cultural diversity and the world’s peoples, nations and
cultures struggle to survive.
FiraTàrrega is presenting a total of eleven co-productions
in 2014 - the result of our team’s collaboration with artists
creating highly personal and committed work. We seek to
foster creative excellence in the public space, refresh the
market, and shake up the landscape by means of initiatives
like the Artistic Support programme.

We hope you find the schedule in the official programme of the
2014 of interest and that it can surprise you or at least convey
to you our passion for art, which in its awareness of the times
in which we live, is able to reinvent itself, offering new and
exciting interpretations of reality and perpetuating dreams.
FiraTàrrega entend les arts de rue comme un espace multidisciplinaire.
Notre mission est de mettre à la portée des spectateurs un catalogue
d’expériences uniques, une programmation qui inclut des prototypes
scéniques représentant l’avant-garde créative du secteur, nés pour laisser
leur empreinte.
Pour la première fois en 34 ans, FiraTàrrega inaugure avec sa propre
production. Il s’agit d’un spectacle de théâtre de rue dirigé par le Chilien
Ignacio Achurra, directeur artistique de la compagnie La Patriótico
Interesante et un des créateurs latins ayant une grande projection
internationale. La ira dels peixos est une ode à la diversité culturelle et à
la résistance des peuples, des nations et des cultures dans le monde et qui
luttent pour survivre.
FiraTàrrega présente cette année 2014 un total de 11 coproductions, qui
sont le fruit de la collaboration de notre équipe avec des artistes dont les
œuvres sont hautement personnelles et engagées. Nous voulons inciter à
l’excellence dans le domaine de la création dans l’espace public, provoquer
l’oxygénation du marché, bousculer le panorama grâce à des initiatives
comme le programme de Support à la Création.

4) Tickets cannot be returned. Ensure that the tickets you are given at the
box office are the ones you have requested.
5) The seats in the Teatre Ateneu are numbered. The seats in the other
venues are not numbered.
6) People with handicaps or physical impediments have preference on
entering the venues. Ask at the door for this priority.
7) Disconnect all mobile phones and watch alarms during the performance.
8) If a paying spectacle is suspended, as long as it has not exceeded 50%
of its running time, the tickets can only be refunded at the same sales
point where they were acquired.

La ira dels peixos
Street theatre spectacle with live music, produced by FiraTàrrega. La ira dels peixos presents
a confrontation between two cultures, one represented by the residents of a vessel who
earn a living from collecting rubbish from the sea and other by the visitors, who come to
get to know the lifestyle and customs of the so-called fish men. A story about diversity
and cultural resistance. A reflection on totalitarian states, economic interests and how the
ideologies close to globalisation spread their territorial control and threaten the survival of
the minority cultures. A proposal that invites the audience to travel through the places of
personal and collective identity and to recover a place of freedom that allows us to dream
about the brotherhood between all the peoples of our planet.
Ignacio Achurra, artistic director and scriptwriter Born in Santiago de Chile in 1979, Ignacio Achurra
graduated in Arts, and is an actor, teacher, playwright and theatre director. Founding member and
current artistic director of the company La Patriótico Interesante, with whom he has been working
since 2002, on research and creation in the field of the street arts, with six works produced that have
been presented at the leading festivals in Chile, France, Ecuador, Colombia, Spain and Germany. In
2013, he taught on the Master of Creation in Street Arts organised by FiraTàrrega and the University
of Lleida. He is currently the artistic co-director of the International Street Theatre Festival in Santiago
de Chile, co-director of Achurra Entrenadores (consultants specialised in effective communication) and
actor on de Chilean National Television (TVN).

THEATRE
Spectacle de théâtre de rue, avec musique en direct, produit par
FiraTàrrega. La ira dels peixos propose l’affrontement de deux
cultures, l’une représentée par les résidents d’un bateau et qui
vivent du ramassage des ordures de la mer et l’autre par les visiteurs
qui arrivent pour découvrir les conditions particulières de vie et de
coutumes de ce qu’on appelle hommes poissons. Une histoire qui
parle de la diversité et de la résistance culturelle. Une réflexion qui
raconte comment les états totalitaires, les intérêts économiques et
les idéologies proches de la mondialisation étendent leur domaine
territorial et menacent la survie des cultures minoritaires. Une
proposition qui invite le public à voyager à travers les espaces de
l’identité personnelle et collective et à récupérer un espace de
liberté qui nous permette de rêver à la fraternité parmi tous les
peuples de notre planète.
Ignacio Achurra, directeur artistique et scénariste Né à Santiago de
Chile en 1979, Ignacio Achurra est licencié en Arts, acteur, enseignant,
dramaturge et directeur théâtral. Membre fondateur et actuel directeur
artistique de la compagnie La Patriótico Interesante, avec laquelle il
a réalisé depuis 2002, un intense travail de recherche et de création
dans le domaine des arts de la rue avec 6 spectacles produits qui ont
été présentés dans les festivals les plus importants du Chili, France,
Équateur, Colombie, Espagne et Allemagne. En 2013 il a participé comme
professeur au Master de Création en Arts de Rue organisé par FiraTàrrega
et l’Université de Lleida. Il est actuellement codirecteur artistique du
Festival International de Théâtre de Rue de Santiago de Chili codirecteur
de Achurra Entrenadores (consultant spécialisé dans la Communication
effective) et acteur à la Télévision Nationale du Chili (TVN).

15Feet6 are a group of four young international artists
based in Belgium, specialised in acrobatics with the
Russian bar, Chinese pole, the Korean see-saw and aerial
leaps. In Dynamite & poetry, they offer an explosive
street performance where the technique and risk mix
with humour and poetry.

Based on the attack on Ossama Bin Laden’s house in
Pakistan by American marines, the Agrupación Señor
Serrano builds a pop portrait of the decade that
followed the 9/11 and that opened the 21st century.
A western style tale, referenced in the novel Moby
Dick that includes models, video-projections, real-time
manipulation of video, videogames, virtual worlds and
performance. A multiplatform experience that mixes
reality and its copies to explain the biggest and longest
manhunt in history.
À partir de l’épisode de l’assaut à la maison d’Ossama Bin Laden
au Pakistan par les marines américains, le Groupement Señor
Serrano construit un portrait pop de la décade qui suivit le
11S et qui marqua le passage au XXIe siècle. Un récit de type
western, faisant référence au roman Moby Dick, qui inclut des
maquettes, des vidéoprojections, la manipulation de vidéo en
temps réel, des jeux-vidéos des mondes virtuels et performance.
Une expérience à multiple-plateforme où se mêlent la réalité et
ses copies pour expliquer l’opération de recherche et capture la
plus grande et longue de l’histoire.

One night, in the darkness of any street, a man tries to retain a stranger who he has
stopped on the corner. He talks to him about his universe, a suburb where it is always
dark, where he feels like a stranger, where he can no longer work. He talks to him about
everything, even love, the way you can only talk to a stranger like that, silent, unmoving.
Une nuit, dans l’obscurité d’une rue quelconque, un homme tente de retenir un inconnu qu’il à
abordé au coin. Il lui parle de son univers, un faubourg où il fait toujours sombre, où l’on se sent
étranger, où l’on ne travaille plus. Il lui parle de tout et même de l’amour, comme on n’en parle
qu’à un inconnu comme celui-là, silencieux, immobile.

making it possible for you to execute your sentences over the ideas,
desires or people who most torment you. A proposal that falls between
the metaphor, an installation and a performance, thought up by the
creator and set designer, Iago Pericot and presented as a happy exercise
of catharsis to free pressure and lighten our everyday headaches.

Performance that combines dance and interactive technology. The
dancer/performer wears a 3D wireless accelerometer and the signals
recorded are processed in real time to generate, modulate and project
the sounds that make up the soundtrack. From different abstractions of
every-day situations, the piece invites us to reflect on the individual and
his role in society.

danseuse/performer porte sur elle un accéléromètre 3D sans fils et les signaux

that questions temporality through the transformation

Four characters play at boarding a spaceship to explore their creativity
and unveil the mysteries of the universe. A science-fiction show built

inhospitable corners of the soul, from experimentation to the most

Our society often feels “harassed” and adrift. Four dancers explore
this imprecise coming and going in rough, dirty movements and pose
questions: which way should me go? Where is the movement taking us?
Can resistance change the sense of the movement? The aim of the piece
is to show this movement cleanly, stripped of anything superfluous and
with a certain rawness. And in the midst of all this, find out if there are
answers and, especially, if we are able to find them.
La société actuelle se sent souvent “malmenée” et poussée à la dérive. Quatre
danseurs explorent dans le mouvement, sauvage et imprécis de cet aller et venir
et se posent des questions: vers où devons-nous aller? Où le mouvement nous
porte-t-il? La résistance peut-elle changer le sens du mouvement? L’objectif
de la pièce est de montrer ce mouvement de façon nette, dépourvue de toute
chose superflue et d’une certaine dureté. Et, dans tout cela découvrir s’il y a des
réponses et surtout, si nous sommes capables de les trouver.

saw in their show Trossos premiered at FiraTàrrega in September 2012.

A show that depicts a sick and fragmented world that leaves no room
for innocence. From the themes of paternity, violence and social change,
the private and public spheres are linked in a show of fragmented voices
that weave a textual fabric of stories that sketch the human landscape
of a broken city. A work that arises from the artistic confluence and
complicity between the author José Manuel Mora and the director
Carlota Ferrer.

d’espace à l’innocence. À partir des thèmes de la paternité, de la violence et du
changement social, la sphère privée et la sphère publique se connectent dans un

Dance show presented as a series of poetic images
inspired in the book of the same name by Laszlo
Krasznahorkai and Max Neumann. A piece for two
dancers who, starting from the animality inherent in the
human being, it delves into the extreme states of the
relation of a man with his own body, with another man
and the audience. An exercise in understanding power
in relations between people and the domestication of
the human desire to stand out from the multitude.
Spectacle de danse proposé comme une suite d’images
poétiques inspirées du livre homonyme de Laszlo Krasznahorkai
et Max Neumann. Un travail pour deux danseurs qui, partant
de l’animalité inhérente à l’être humain, recherche les états
extrêmes de la relation d’un homme avec son propre corps, avec
un autre homme et avec le public. Un essai de compréhension
du pouvoir dans la relation entre les personnes et de la
domestication du désir humain de se détacher de la multitude.

The Rodríguez arrive in their car that is falling apart.
They have been evicted and are now living in the street.
A cousin, who plays master of ceremonies, introduces
the audience to the family disputes. They don’t know

in the course of the story to modify the ending.

A man builds towers and figures with heavy wooden boxes. He is
trying to build the perfect imbalance. Calculated movements, exact
distances, drawn breath, poetic engineering, precarious balances,
constructive fragility. An intimate circus show, with a very special musical
accompaniment and where the audience undergo risk in feeling the
limit of the movements personally. A homage to the risky, rough and
ephemeral world of the classic circus.

Mouvements calculés, distances exactes, respirations
soutenues, ingénierie poétique, équilibres précaires,
fragilité constructive. Un spectacle de cirque intime et

spéciale et où le public expérimente le risque en sentant
la limite des mouvement dans sa peau. Un hommage au

In this solo, Toni Mira wants to share a spell of poetry,

A new production by old acquaintances of the Tàrrega audiences,
who awarded them the 2003 Prize for the Best Closed-venue Show
with Folie à deux. Sueños de un psiquiàtrico. Coinciding with the
launch of the space robot Curiosity, a plague of termites forces judge
Fèlix to abandon his home and take up residence in the old family
residence. Living with his father and in the setting of the trials he has
on his plate means such themes as justice, happiness and fate arise.
Meanwhile, light years away, Curiosity explores the possibilities for
the human race to spread out from the Earth.
Nouvelle production de ces vieilles connaissances du public de Tàrrega qui
leur attribua en 2003 le Prix au Meilleur Spectacle de Salle pour leur Folie à
deux. Sueños de un psiquiàtrico. Coïncidant dans le temps avec le lancement
du robot spatial Curiosity, une invasion de termites oblige le juge Félix à
abandonner sa maison et à s’installer dans son ancienne résidence familiale.
La vie commune avec son père et l’environnement des jugements qu’il a
entre les mains, feront affleurer des thèmes comme la justice, le bonheur ou
le destin. Pendant ce temps, à des années lumière de distance, le Curiosity
explore les possibilités d’expansion de l’espèce humaine hors de la Terre.

Two worlds exist beside each other. Two realities. A male
clown and a female clown tell us about it, each in their
own way. Two complimentary visions, two sides of the
same coin. Two contradictory stories in which the big
problems have simple solutions and the little ones can be
really complicated. As they say, the world is not shared
out fairly.
Deux mondes vivent ensemble, côte à côte. Deux réalités. Un

Four powerful quirky characters without
scruples meet in secret in a mansion to
control the world. A common citizen gets
lost in the forest and ends up discovering
their organisation. It is called C.O.C.A. and,
although the common citizen had never heard
of it before, it affects every moment of his
life: from the price of milk to the fashionable
discotheque he escapes to on Fridays.
Quatre puissants extravagants et sans scrupules
se réunissent en secret dans une demeure pour
contrôler le monde. Une citoyenne commune
se perd dans le bois et finit par découvrir leur
organisation. Elle s’appelle C.O.C.A. et, bien que

Among the people, there is a space to preserve the random sneaky contact of any
contempt. Invading this space may be the first expression of mistreatment. Sharing it is
perhaps the primary expression of the treatment. Among the streets we find the scenery
of decorated and extravagant aliens. Weightless present with an acrobatic jump. “This
place between... where hope unmistakeably passes”. International co-production with
the artistic stamp of Los Galindos that presents an itinerant multi-disciplinary show
expressed through the language of the circus and acrobatics with important acting and
choreographic support.
Chez les gens, il y a un espace à préserver du contact furtif au hasard de tout mépris. Envahir cet
espace peut être la première expression de la maltraitance. Le partager est, peut-être, la première
expression du traitement. On trouve dans la rue le théâtre de décors étrangers et extravagants.
Présent en apesanteur à saut d’acrobate. « Cet endroit entre... où déambule l’espoir sans équivoque

beard? Inspired in a book by Gabriel Janer Manila, foradelugar built this show that tells
the story of a fighter who aspires to a better life for himself and his family. A reflection
on immigration that will enable you to learn about the hidden life of its protagonist

Luigi Maestrini and Rafael Lanza met working on the
construction of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at
CERN in Geneva, like many other Italian and Spanish
immigrants, Luigi as a qualified mason and Rafa as
the supervisor. These two enlightened builders began
to offer small conferences dramatized in the homes of
friends and colleagues. Later they are filmed playing
with and discussing philosophical concepts using
objects, materials and their own bodies. The result is a
series of “performances” full of humour and humanity,
overwhelmed with what they call simply “The Work.”
And this is what the public does in fact: a visit to a work
in perpetual construction. FiraTàrrega has invited us
because we share this unique vision of the world with
the public.
Luigi Maestrini et Rafael Lanza se sont connus en travaillant
à la construction du Large Hadron Collinder (LGH) du CERN, à
Genève, comme tant d’autres immigrants italiens et espagnols.
Luigi était maçon qualifié et Rafa maître d’œuvre. Ces deux
maçons éclairés, pendant leur rare temps libre, commencèrent
à donner des petites conférences théâtralisées, chez eux, pour
leurs amis et leurs collègues de travail. Plus tard ils se filmèrent,
discutant et jouant avec des concepts philosophiques, en utilisant
des objets, des matériaux et leurs propres corps. Le résultat est
un ensemble de « performances » pleines d’humour et d’une
humanité débordante qu’eux appellent simplement « L’Œuvre ».
Et c’est ce que fait le public en définitive : la visite d’une œuvre
en perpétuelle construction. FiraTàrrega les a invités pour qu’ils
partagent avec le public leur vision particulière du monde.

Everyone interested in a participating in the prize draw by bringing
personal objects can do so from the 27th of August to the 7th of
September (18-20h) at the old offices of Càritas, in C/Mestre Martí nº19.
Les personnes intéressées par la participation au tirage au sort en
apportant des objets personnels peuvent le faire du 27 août au 7
septembre à l’ancien siège de Càritas, au C/Mestre Martí nº19.
What would you take to feel at home when you are
living abroad? From this question, the project appeals
to the citizens to take part by supplying that would be
essential for them to rebuild their home. A reflection of
exile that, starting from an imaginary journey, lets the
participants enter the draw for a journey for one person
to Mexico, that will recreate the route of the Catalan
exiles from the Civil War, from Veracruz to Mexico City.
The proposal consists of three parts: an installation of
the objects in the old offices of Càritas in Tàrrega, a
gala that includes the draw for the journey where the
participants will explain why they chose the objects and
the journey itself, that will include meetings with some
of the children of the exiles and visits to places related to
their republican exile.
Qu’emporteriez-vous pour vous sentir comme chez vous
lorsque vous en êtes loin? À partir de cette question le projet
interpelle les citoyens pour les faire participer en apportant
des objets qui leur semblent indispensables pour réconstruire
sa maison. Une réflexions sur l’exil qui, partant d’un voyage
imaginaire, permet aux participants d’entrer dans le tirage au
sort d’un voyage pour une personne au Mexique, qui recréera
la route des exilés catalans de la Guerre Civile, de Veracruz
à Mexico DF. La proposition se compose de trois parties: une
installation des objets à l’ancien siège de Càritas à Tàrrega,
un gala que inclut le tirage au sort du voyage pendant lequel
les participants expliqueront pourquoi ils ont choisi ces objets
et le voyage proprement dit au cours duquel il y aura des
rencontres d’enfants d’exilés et des visites aux endroits en

Close encounters of the different kind
A group of aliens from different galaxies and human in appearance have arrived to
take control of the Earth. In establishing their new home they face different challenges,
like that of communicating with the humans. A new work by this Hungarian company,
directed by Martin Boross, in co-production with FiraTàrrega, is a site specific piece that
deals with distance, unpredictability, safety and familiarity and that involves a group of
local immigrants. A show of gestural and visual theatre that includes live music, dance
and videoart. With the collaboration of the Office of Social Action and Citizenship of
the City of Tàrrega, who has made possible research on new citizens in Tàrrega for their
participation as non-professional actors.
Un groupe d’extra-terrestres de différentes galaxies et ayant une apparence humaine est venu
pour contrôler la Terre. Lors de l’installation dans leur nouveau foyer, ils doivent faire face à
différents défis tels que la communication avec les humains. Le nouveau travail de cette compagnie
hongroise, dirigée par Martin Boross, en coproduction avec FiraTàrrega, est un site spécifique
qui traite de la distance, de l’imprévisibilité, de la sécurité et de la familiarité et il implique une
collectivité d’immigrants locaux. Un spectacle de théâtre gestuel et visuel qui introduit musique
en direct, danse et vidéo art. Avec la collaboration du Centre d’Action Sociale et Citoyenneté de
la Mairie de Tàrrega, qui a rendu possible la recherche de nouveaux venus à Tàrrega pour leur
participation comme acteurs non professionnels.

Traps is the latest creation by the company Efímer. Three gigantic dragons,
over 4 metres long, made from thousands of pieces of cloth occupy the
street and interact with the passers-by. Three tender characters that
take us back to the fantasy world and the beloved imaginary of pour
childhood and that take us on a very special tour.
Traps est la dernière création de la compagnie Efímer. Trois dragons géants,
confectionnés avec des milliers de coupons de tissu, occupent les rues et jouent
avec les passants. Trois personnages tendres qui nous renvoient au monde
fantastique et au cher imaginaire de notre enfance et qui nous offriront une bien

A street clown show for all ages. The terrace of a bar, a small restaurant or the garden
of a house: a table, two chairs, a sunshade, a clothes hanger, a mirror and a very special
maître. Around him, there are children playing, a woman walking her little dog, a man
walking frantically, two lovers kissing each other on a bench, you hear the horns of the
cars, a baby’s cry, the conversations of the people...
Spectacle de clown de rue pour tous les publics. La terrasse d’un bar, d’un petit restaurant ou du
jardin d’une maison: une table, deux chaises, un parasol, un portemanteau, un miroir et un maître
très spécial. Autour de lui il y a des enfants qui jouent, une dame qui promène son petit chien, un
monsieur à la démarche frénétique, deux amoureux qui s’embrassent sur un banc, on entend les
klaxons des voitures, les pleurs d’un nouveau-né, les conversations des gens...

roller-disco. This time, however, presented and adapted
as entertainment for a family audience and as a journey
through the most up-to-date music of the world. A
skating rink with an ideal soundtrack for young and old
to dance to on wheels. An unbeatable occasion for intergenerational entertainment and to widen your musical
horizons. You have to bring the skates from home.
Projet qui récupère le concept des mythique roller-disco des
années soixante-dix. Cette fois, cependant, présenté et adapté
comme un entraînement ludique pour un public familial et
proposé comme un voyage à travers les musiques du monde les
plus actuelles. Une piste de patinage d’ambiance avec une bande
sonore idéale pour que petits et grands dansiez sur roulettes.
Une occasion sans pareille pour le partage intergénérationnel
et pour amplifier les horizons musicaux. Il faudra apporter les
patins ou patinettes de chez vous.

Micro-Shakespeare
INSTALLATION
In this work, with production by the Royal National
Theatre in London, Laitrum takes on a challenge that
is by no means easy: to condense each of the vast and
monumental works of William Shakespeare into five
6-minute pieces. Starting from the concept of their
previous anterior work Capses, the spectator takes
the lead in an entertaining participative experience.
Following instructions through headphones, the
volunteer becomes the manipulator of objects in a
little Shakespearian theatre that tells a story that the
spectators hear whispered into their ears. Face-to-face
theatre.
Dans ce travail qui compte avec la production du Royal National
Theatre de Londres, Laitrum se propose un défi qui n’a rien de
facile: condenser en 5 pièces de 6 minutes chacune, l’oeuvre
monumentale de William Shakespeare. En partant du concept
de leur montage antérieur Capses, le spectateur est l’acteur
principal d’une amusante expérience participative. En suivant
les instructions au moyen d’auriculaires, un volontaire devient
manipulateur d’objets dans un petit théâtre shakespearien où
les spectateurs complices écoutent aussi tout bas. Teatre de

Music
Joan Garriga leads this group that arose from three essential claims: he finds it as an attitude to making songs
in the style of the old troubadours, “finding” inspiration in every-day life; Kung-fu as a discipline to reach
perfection; and Catalan rumba, a style created by Catalan gypsies in the middle of the decade of rock & roll.
With these premises, La Troba has created a very personal stylistic compendium called “rúmbia vallesana”.
In this concert, they offer us the songs from their latest work “Santalegria” and a review of their previous
records.
Joan Garriga dirige ce groupe qui naît de trois revendications essentielles: le trope comme attitude pour faire des chansons
à la manière des anciens troubadours, “trouvant” l’inspiration dans la vie quotidienne; le kung fu comme discipline pour
arriver à la perfection, et la rumba catalane, genre créé par les gitans catalans vers la moitié de la décade du rock & roll. Avec
ces prémisses La Troba a créé un résumé stylistique très personnel appelé “rúmbia vallesana”. Au cours de ce concert, ils nous
offriront les chansons de leur dernier travail “Santalegria” et une révision de leurs disques précédents.
