Six-tooth sprocket versus Eight-tooth sprocket
Six-tooth sprocket provides smooth conveyance of material
for most applications. It’s 1 1/2” drive shaft and 1 1/4”
idler is the industry standard. Six tooth sprocket allows
higher chain loading.

Eight-tooth sprocket provides for a more fluid and smooth
conveyance of material. With its 2” drive shaft and idler, it
provides the ultimate in durability and ruggedness.

Belt over chain is the ultimate in
material conveyance and durability.
Belt over chain provides smooth output
without clumping.
1/4” thick cross bars offers the most
basic conveyance of material. It pulls
material off the conveyor and onto the
spinner at industry standard rates.
3/8” thick heavy duty cross bars pulls
material more consistently than 1/4”
wide cross bars.
Top Mounted versus Bottom Mounted Spinner Motor
Bottom mounted motors allow for the most precise
spreading patterns as the material can be dropped
anywhere on the disc.
The advantage of top mounted motors is that ground
clearance is increased by 10” by having the motor
mounted on top. This is designed for operators who might
encounter rougher terrain such as large pot holes.
Swing Up Spinner versus Standard Spinner
The Swing Up spinner can be rotated up 180 degrees by the operator when not
in use. This has two advantages over the standard spinner. The first advantage is
that when unloading the material at the end of the day, you can rotate the spinner
up and unload the material via the conveyor without spreading the material.
This eliminates having to clean up your material after unloading it. The second
advantage is that you can store the V-Box flat with the spinner in the up position,
thereby eliminating the need to store the V-Box on a ground rack.

Swenson’s Dura-Stand™ leg stand system simplifies
the loading and unloading process of hopper
spreaders from dump bodies and provides secure,
stable storage for the spreaders while not in use.
The Dura-Stand™ is designed with versitility
and ease of use in mind. The unique design
incorporates an adjustable height feature to allow
quick adjustments for multiple truck bed heights
and is completely retrofitable to your existing
spreader fleet*
A simple roll in/roll out loading process reduces
cycle time and increases safety by eliminating
hazardous lifting operations. The Dura-Stand™ can
be safely loaded by only one worker.
