Here - National Deaf Culture Fellowship
Friday, June 24, 2016
Volume 9 Issue 4
On Thursday at the National
Deaf Culture Fellowship (NF)
Convention of the Assemblies of
God, we were blown away by the
great teaching and power of God
as the Spirit moved!
The morning began Rev. Bill
Gipple hosting a prayer and
praise devotional with a beautiful
testimony. Then Rev. Joyce
Mather taught a workshop
sharing her many years of study
in Bible prophecy and the end
times - it starts in Genesis!
About 30 pages of notes were
given to each person! If you
want to know about this well
researched subject - ask Joyce!!
(Tom and Joyce Mather will also
be leading a group of about 50
people to Israel in November!)
At the same time, the
“Interpreter Track” workshops
continued to bless and amaze
the students. Andi West and
Pauline Ballentine did some
great teaching today to further
train future church interpreters.
(Here are regional reps
Marilyn Skidmore, Cheryl Ragas,
Peggy Lee LeFors, and NDWM
President Cindy Dively.)
Right after lunch, Rev. JoAnn
Smith talked about the exciting
new programs for credentialing
now being offered through the
University of Valley Forge -t ra d i ti o n a l , o n l i n e, a n d
accelerated. Then she taught
the “Healthy Church”
workshop, emphasizing 10
important points that each
church must have to be called
“healthy”. After this excellent
information, she passed out a
“church assessment” tool, with
each church or regional group
discussing how the church is
doing currently.
Rev. George Wood, National
AG Superintendent, stopped by
to greet the NF Convention and
support us. NF is one of 22
ethnic language groups!
A “Healthy Church” panel of
Belinda McCleese, Oscar and
Olivia Bibb, and Emory and
Cindy Dively ended the day’s
workshops with some valuable
info. And the evening began
with the kids enjoying a “jump
house” behind the clock tower!
At noon, the NF Deaf Women’s
Ministries and President Cindy
Dively hosted a luncheon with
lots of great networking, meeting
the regional reps, eating good
food, each lady getting a lovely
gift, and also seeing some newly
credentialed women in ministry!

Start planning now to join the NF in Phoenixville, PA (near Philadelphia)
for the National Deaf Convention in June 2018!
This will be hosted by the Deaf Program at University of Valley Forge
and the local Deaf Ministries from several nearby states.
University of
Valley Forge
(continued from page 1)
This evening, the pioneers of
the Deaf Ministries program at
Central Bible College were able
to be together again - Lottie
Riekehof and Ed Lawrence!!
At 7:00 PM, the evening
worship started with Rev. Tom
Mather hosting.
We didn’t
want to start without inviting
the Holy Spirit to come, and a
powerful time of prayer with
speaking in tongues filled the
whole chapel as the presence of
God was moving...
As a storm started, Vickie
Gipple shared a beautiful ASL
song the Lord had given her this
morning.
And the thunder
outside matched the rhythm of
her song! (God’s approval)
Then James Parker led more
worship music using some
powerful DVD songs.
Elijah was afraid of Jezebel and
became severely depressed, but
God still mightily used him (1
Kings 19:3-4).
DON’T LET WHAT YOU
CAN SEE -- STOP YOU FROM
YOUR JOURNEY WITH
GOD! John admits he was a
drug addict for 14 years, but
now a preacher of the gospel!!
We must be full of the Spirit,
and God will lead us to deeper
things! Soon the altar was filled
with people praying.
Some
people were baptized in the
Holy Spirit, touched, and
renewed their vision and call!!
Rev. John Davis (CODA)
from San Jose, CA preached the
sermon, “Filled for the Deep!”
He powerfully encouraged us to
not let our past failures limit us
for the future.
Samuel did
things wrong, but he was still a
prophet of God. (1 Sam. 8:1-6)
