Wherever possible, eyevis products are one step ahead of their
time and set innovative standards. This is definitely true for
the Netpix Series Controllers by eyevis which have been the heart
and backbone of sophisticated large-screen installations as well
as single monitors and projectors for many years.
At present the series is comprised of three network-based
Graphics Controllers and one IP Streaming Video Decoder which
represent the state of the art. They are capable of combining, in
an easy and user-friendly way, individual outputs into a coherent
desktop display, which can be used to present a wide range of
network data as well as video and graphics sources.

This controller is the
result of a new system
architecture. Based on a
standard version, the
controllers can be
individually configured
with optional components.
In this case the system architecture is
based on a CPU unit and up to four
expansion chassis.
This structure is ideally suited for adapting
the controller to a range of different
requirements. In addition, upgrading on
site at a later date is made easier.

The CPU unit relies on Intel® Xeon® Quad
Core technology, which boasts a performance in providing a high-quality display
for sophisticated applications.
The hard disk used is an SSD, a so-called
Solid State Disk. Hard disks of this type
are equipped with a flash memory and
contain – in contrast to conventional
drives – no moving parts which makes
them more robust and faster. What’s
more, their energy consumption is
considerably lower.
The NPX4800-G2.1 offers an extremely
high peak bandwidth of up to 192 GB/s as
well as the most versatile connection
options for analogue and digital video
and graphics signals. The ultra-fast switch
fabric architecture with PCIe-X4 slots facilitates the simultaneous display of numerous video and graphics sources without
resulting in any decline in the frame rate.
Thanks to the MultiScreen capabilities
of the controller, data signals and other
sources can be reproduced simultaneously while the sources can be freely
placed and adjusted in size on a large
screen. The videowall usually comprises
an array of individual diplays. These can
driven indivisually with a resolution of up
to 1920 × 1200 pixels. The size of the
over-all videowall desktop is the product
of the resolution of the monitors multiplied by the number of outputs. Hence,
the users have a huge desktop available
with a very high resolution. With up to
64 GB RAM, it can handle even highly
memory-intensive applications without
any problems.
The NPX400-G2.1, with its reliable system
components and outstanding performance features, offers both a trouble-free
expansion to future upgrades and a
number of advantages through its multiresolution. In addition there are more
optional features beyond the usual
standards available. For example, there is
the underlap mode for narrow-ridged
display modules, overlap mode for edge
overlaps for projections and pivot mode
for portrait and landscape presentation,
which are available on request and
depending on the project.
NPX4800-PLUS
Top of the Line
This controller is the top model in the
NPX4800 series. It features all technical
and structural virtues of the series,
and its equipment leaves nothing to wish
for. It offers the largest possible variety
of connection options for analogue and
digital video and graphics signals via
its input cards and can display a large
number of video and graphics sources at
the same time and in the best possible
quality. The device has an SBC (Single
Board Computer) architecture, supporting
up to two Intel® Xeon® processors and
not requiring a separate CPU unit. Thanks
to its redesigned output cards, the
NPX4800-PLUS is capable of controlling
up to 64 outputs per system and has up
to 32 GB RAM available for memory-intensive applications. It can be fitted with
a variety of input cards for video, RGB/DVI,
HDSDI and IP signals, and all signal inputs
can be moved, scaled and placed freely
on the projection screen.
NPX4800-LC
THE ECONOMICAL
VERSION
Die Netpix version LC is a solution for
medium to small applications which
do not have very complex requirements.
The device is fitted with competitively
priced, but still high-quality hardware
components. As with the NPX4800-PLUS,
no separate CPU unit is necessary.
On the other hand, the LC’s hardware
architecture does not allow significant
modifications. Extensions, upgrades etc.
are either impossible or very difficult
to realize. The controller can display
a maximum of 48 output signals and has
up to 16 GB RAM available.
NPX4800-IPD32 –
THE UNIVERSAL SOLUTION
This device is the logical extension of
the Netpix Controller series by eyevis for
universal decoding of cameras, encoders and DVRs via video IP networks. This
solution provides IP streaming hardware
with the latest available technology
and has been specifically developed to
sustainably satisfy the continuously
increasing requirements of modern
visualisation systems – particularly for
security-relevant applications. Thanks to
the open architecture of the NPX4800
series, the decoder can be integrated in
all Netpix systems. It comes equipped
with two powerful decoding processors,
which are easily capable of managing
up to 32 streams with D1 quality resolution and 25/30 frames/s. In addition,
due to the new hardware architecture,
the system processes up to 16× Full HD
streams per IPD32.
Contrary to software decoding solutions, the use of this external hardware
architecture allows the reproduction
of up to 512 D1 camera signals with one
NPX4800 system. In connection with
the new eyecon V5 software and its
MetaWalls feature, the number of
decoded streams is nearly unlimited.
As a matter of course various input
cards, such as analogue video input
cards or RGB/DVI cards, can be
combined with the NPX4800-IPD32.
