Carrera Podium nasce nel 1989 quale logica
prosecuzione delle esperienze maturate nelle corse
professionistiche dall’ex professionista Davide Boifava
e da Luciano Bracchi. L’obiettivo dell’azienda, forte oggi
di una storia ricca di oltre 500 vittorie nelle competizioni
più prestigiose, è semplice e chiaro: realizzare i sogni
degli appassionati della bicicletta attraverso un
prodotto di qualità superiore capace di trasmettere
emozioni, piacere, ma anche quella straordinaria
sensazione di benessere fisico che aiuta a mantenere
in forma il nostro corpo. In una sola parola, un prodotto
capace di trasmettere un gusto tutto italiano.Unico ed
inimitabile. Un obiettivo che Carrera Podium persegue
oggi come ieri con immutata passione attraverso una
filosofia incentrata sulla rigorosa professionalità e sul
know-how, da un lato puntando sulla ricerca e la messa
a punto di nuove tecnologie sia per quanto riguarda i
materiali sia per ciò che concerne le metodologie di
lavorazione; dall’altro caratterizzandosi per la concreta
capacità di anticipare le tendenze di un mercato
in costante evoluzione, sviluppando parallelamente
al prodotto anche un servizio di qualità superiore,
realmente attento alle esigenze e alle aspettative della
clientela.
Carrera Podium was established in 1989 by the ex pro
rider Davide Boifava, Luciano Bracchi. It was founded
as a result of experiences gained in professional
cycling races by the three partners.
The company’s goal which is simple and clear, and
which is supported by a rich history of over 500
victories in the most prestigious competitions, is to
make bike lovers’ dreams come true with a superior
quality product able to give thrills and enjoyment
including the extraordinary feeling of well-being that
comes from keeping our body fit.
In one word, a product capable of conveying an allItalian taste which is unique and inimitable.
Carrera Podium is aiming at this goal today, just like
it has been doing in the past, with unaltered passion
based on a philosophy centred on strict professionalism
and know-how.

/TECHNOLOGY
Il carbonio di base viene lavorato con un processo
produttivo di nuova generazione denominato Va.B.M
(Vacuum Bladder Moulding) con tecnologia EPS
(Expandable Polystyrene Shell) ed EPU (Expandable
Polyurethane Shell), che permettono di ottenere un
prodotto finito mono struttura, con evidenti vantaggi
in termini di peso e spessori. Questo processo di
modellazione di alto livello, sotto controllo del vuoto,
applica la tecnologia EPS sulle tubazioni dell’intero
telaio e la tecnologia EPU nelle zone del movimento
centrale, tubo sella e tubo sterzo. Questa tecnologia
uniforma e distende le fibre di carbonio anche all’interno
delle tubazioni, rendendole uniformi, più compatte
e leggere (si riescono a ridurre gli spessori) con il
risultato di incrementare le resistenza del carbonio
utilizzato dal 5 al 10%. Si ottengono così un peso super
leggero ed un coefficiente di rigidità STW (Stifness to

The basic carbon is processed using a new-generation
production process known as Va.B.M (Vacuum Bladder
Moulding) with EPS (Expandable Polystyrene Shell)
and EPU (Expandable Polyurethane Shell) technology,
which allow for obtaining a mono-structure finished
product, with considerable advantages in terms of
weight and thickness. This high-level modelling process,
under vacuum control, applies the EPS technology
to the tubes of the whole frame, and the EPU shell
technology for the bottom bracket, seat tube and head
tube zones. This technology evens out and stretches
the carbon fibres inside the tubes as well as, making
them uniform, more compact and lightweight (by
reducing their thickness). As a result, the resistance of
the carbon used increases from 5% to 10%. This yields
an extremely lightweight frame with a very high STW
(Stiffness to Weight) rigidity coefficient.

3BrakeSystem is a new adaptive solution offered
by Carrera Podium for their high quality frames.
It is characterized by our exclusive and specific
design features that allow for the configuration of
3 different types of braking systems: traditional

brakes, which can be chosen by the cyclist based
on their preference and/or the specific riding
conditions, the net result – Maximum braking

Carrera AR01 è il nuovo progetto di punta
delle officine Carrera Podium, dedicato ai
professionisti .
La geometria del triangolo principale, del carro posteriore,
le soluzioni d’integrazione adottate per il cockpit
di guida, il perfetto bilanciamento dei pesi fanno di
AR01 un prodotto senza compromessi: leggero, rigido,
aerodinamico,estremamente preciso e performante; in una
parola un’autentica macchina da competizione.
Con Carrera AR-01 la guidabilità e la sicurezza hanno
raggiunto livelli mai prima pensati e si percepiscono
immediatamente su qualsiasi tipo percorso.
La rigidità complessiva è notevole e non fa nulla per
nascondersi: nelle fasi di rilancio della pedalata il carro
posteriore è granitico, cosa che si avverte ancor di più sul
passo a velocità sostenuta. AR01 prende velocità senza
disperdere nessuna energia, merito di una ciclistica stabile
e molto equilibrata.
In salita la rigidità globale del telaio regala un ottimo feeling,
ogni pedalata trasmette al terreno il 100% della forza, senza
flessioni di alcun tipo, neppure nelle curve ad alta velocità.
Il triangolo principale presenta un tubo obliquo dalla
sezione sovradimensionata e dal profilo laterale compatto
e minimalista; il tubo orizzontale è stato volutamente
tenuto alto per unirlo all’attacco manubrio integrato ed
aerodinamico. Queste soluzioni costruttive permettono
una grande stabilità ed al tempo stesso garantiscono una
guidabilità senza paragoni anche nelle discese tecniche.
L’attacco manubrio integrato nel telaio permette inoltre di
inserire i cavi all’interno del telaio, offrendo cosi una linea
molto pulita ed essenziale.
Il carro posteriore è molto rigido ma grazie all’utilizzo di
nuove fibre di carbonio (Alto modulo e resine speciali) e di un
sistema di stampaggio particolare riesce ad assordire anche
le minime irregolarità del terreno. La forcella dal nuovo
design è precisa e molto reattiva alle frenate, anche violente.
CARRERA AR01 permette il montaggio di tre differenti
soluzioni di freni, tutti con i cavi a scomparsa: un plus
fondamentale per la completa customizzazione del tuo
mezzo da competizione.

WORKSHOPS.
The integrated geometry effect of its main and rear
triangles form a well-defined handling frameset,
along with its perfectly balanced weight make the
AR-01 a bicycle with no compromises. Light, rigid,
aerodynamic, extremely precise and ultra-high
performance are the qualities that clearly define a
competition machine, traits that are fundamental in
every AR-01. With Carrera’s AR-01, the quality of the
ride, aero form and function have evolved into levels
that were previously unthinkable, which can be felt
instantaneously on any road.
The AR-01 is engineered to offer superior lateral
firmness and exceptional torsional rigidity,
transferring 100% of power of each pedal stroke to
the ground with no flex or frame deflection of any
kind. The aero design configuration of the AR-01
main triangle incorporates an oversized down tube
cross-section with a minimalistic side profile. The
height line of the top tube intersects seamlessly with
Carrera’s aerodynamic IAS stem system. The particular
carbon fiber layup combination of High Modulus and
special resins of the AR-01’s compact rigid rear
triangle provides incredibly compliant ride attributes.
The newly-designed fork is a precision masterpiece
that is extremely responsive to all braking forces. The
flexibility of Carrera’s AR-01 3BrakeSystem allows
for multiple optional configurations: caliper brakes,
disk brakes and/or direct Mount brakes. The AR-01
internally routed cables further enhance its clean
lines and slick aerodynamic features.
These painstaking design aspects produce a bicycle

phenomenal handling stability, even during high
speed cornering or technical descents and various

La bici pensata per i PRO alla portata di tutti.
ERAKLE Air è la naturale evoluzione dello storico modello TS.
Abbiamo lavorato con i nostri ingegneri per migliorare il
peso, la rigidità complessiva senza perdere di vista il confort
e soprattutto l’aerodinamica.
Le linee schiacciate del grande tubo obliquo, del reggisella
aero, del piantone verticale e degli steli della forcella piatta
conferiscono alla bici un’impronta chiaramente Racing ma
allo stesso tempo comoda.
La continuità delle linee sottolinea la compattezza del telaio,
sovradimensionato nei punti nevralgici di congiunzione
(scatola del movimento centrale, serie sterzo e nodo sella)
per offrire una risposta alla pedalata eccezionale ed una
grande precisione di guida.
La stabilità in discesa è stata infatti notevolmente migliorata
e questo permette di impostare curve a forte velocità,
anche nel caso di forti decelerazioni. L’avantreno compie un
ottimo lavoro in fatto di stabilità: la forcella a steli piatti e
sterzo a sezione frontale penetrante sono integrati in modo
aerodinamico, facili, intuitivi, così come tutto l’insieme della
bici, per nulla impegnativa da condurre anche quando la
velocità sale e la concentrazione alla guida deve essere, per
forza di cose, maggiore ed assoluta.
Erakle Air si distingue per una guida fluida, scorrevole e
sicura. Il confort è garantito dal carro posteriore che, tramite
i foderi obliqui attaccati più in basso rispetto al nodo sella
e a quelli orizzontali robusti che si inseriscono direttamente
alla congiunzione dei tubi, favorisce una pedalata priva di
fastidiose vibrazioni o turbolenze.
Anche l’attacco del freno posteriore, integrato sotto il telaio
e praticamente nascosto nella parte inferiore della bicicletta,
contribuisce ad accentuare la sicurezza in fase di frenate
violente ed improvvise oltre che rendere le linee della Erakle
Air pulite ed armoniose.
Il telaio è stato progettato per accogliere gruppi meccanici,
elettronici o con freni a disco. Un’attenzione particolare per
una clientela sempre più esigente, attenta ad aggiungere
valore, prestigio ed esclusività alla propria specialissima.
THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY WITHIN CARRERAPODIUM’S R&D DEPARTMENT IS “EVOLUTIONARY
DEVELOPMENT IS BETTER THAN A REVOLUTIONARY
SCHEME” AND THE CARRERA ERAKLE AIR IS EXACTLY
OF THAT NOTION.
It’s a bicycle that was conceived for the Pro peloton
yet is suitable for cyclists of all levels. Podium’s
engineers methodically labored on improving overall
rigidity without compromising ride compliancy or the
framesets aerodynamics. The Erakle AIR uniquely
rectangular formed down tube, aero shaped top and
seat tubes, sculptured chain stays and its massive
bottom bracket housing achieves a perfect synergy
between shape and substance. The net results of the
Erakle AIR oversized tube set: strengthening of the
frameset integrity, lowering of its overall weight, and
improving aerodynamic performance capabilities.
Downhill stability has been noticeably improved,
enabling the cyclist to confidently flow through curves
at high speed, even in the event of hard braking for

Tutto il progetto del telaio è stato sviluppato secondo il
rispetto dei nostri 3 concetti cardine del R.R.B.M. Technology
(Road Racing Bicycles Manufacturing): leggerezza, rigidità,
affidabilità. L’applicazione di materiali compositi altamente
performanti, speciali fibre in graphite/resina epossidica
- una tecnologia derivata direttamente dalla produzione dei
materiali aeronautici, aerospaziali e dal settore automotive rendono CARRERA SL 730 un prodotto altamente innovativo e
tecnologico. Il triangolo anteriore presenta le avveniristiche
tubazioni con design “round to square”, perfette per garantire

fibre di carbonio anche all’interno delle tubazioni, rendendole
uniformi, più compatte e leggere (si riescono a ridurre gli
spessori) con il risultato di incrementare le resistenza del
carbonio utilizzato per il modello SL 730 dal 5 al 10%. Si
ottengono così un peso super leggero ed un coefficiente di
rigidità STW (Stifness to Weight) molto elevato. Il triangolo
posteriore è stato disegnato per offrire un rigidità laterale
molto elevata, sinonimo di perfetta trasmissione della
potenza ed efficienza della pedalata, grazie all’innovativo
concetto di asimmetria del carro posteriore basso ed al
sistema Dual Flat delle tubazioni posteriori alte. L’intero
pacchetto configura un telaio dalle altissime prestazioni,

The entire frame design was developed according
to our 3 pivotal concepts of the R.R.B.M Technology
(Road Racing Bicycles Manufacturing): lightness,
rigidity and reliability. The use of highly performing
composite materials, namely special graphite/epoxy
resin fibres—a technology deriving directly from the
aeronautical, aerospace and automotive sectors—make
CARRERA SL 730 a highly innovative and technological
product. The front triangle features cutting-edge
tubes with ‘round to square’ design, ideal for ensuring
rigidity when needed, precise riding and perfect control
of the bicycle even in the most demanding situations.
The basic carbon is processed using a new-generation
production process known as Va.B.M (Vacuum Bladder
Moulding) with EPS (Expandable Polystyrene Shell)
and EPU (Expandable Polyurethane Shell) technology,
which allow for obtaining a mono-structure finished
product, with considerable advantages in terms of
weight and thickness. This high-level modelling
process, under vacuum control, applies the EPS
technology to the tubes of the whole frame, and the
EPU shell technology for the bottom bracket, seat
tube and head tube zones. This technology evens
out and stretches the carbon fibres inside the tubes
as well, making them uniform, more compact and
lightweight (by reducing their thickness). As a result,
the resistance of the carbon used for model SL 730
increases from 5% to 10%. This yields an extremely
lightweight frame with a very high STW (Stiffness
to Weight) rigidity coefficient. The rear triangle is
designed to offer a very high lateral rigidity—denoting
prefect transmission of the pedal stroke power and
efficiency—thanks to the innovative concept of
asymmetrical chain stays and the Dual Flat system of
the seat stays. The entire package yields a compact,
responsive and perfe ctly manoeuvrable frame capable
of extremely high performances, weighing a mere 730

The R&D innovations for the STONE 29’er are the
result of the engineering know-how collected by
Carrera-PODIUM’s expertise with carbon road racing
frames applied towards its MTB sector. The STONE
29’ers fabrication uses ‘Solid Carbon’ technology,
a new generation manufacturing process with
noticeable improvements in terms of tubeset weight
and compliance. This technology eliminates potential
critical points in the monocoque assembly by adding
high structural rigidity to its fabrication technique
to optimally counter and dampen vibrations of its
asymmetric designed frame during off-road riding.
This unique carbon layup has been achieved via
computerized analysis of the frame’s performance
