North Pacific humpbacks spend the summer in
the temperate waters from the Aleutian Island
of Alaska to the Farallon Islands off the coast
of Central California. During the colder winter
months, November to May, the majority of the
North Pacific stock is found in the warm waters
of Hawaii and México, where they breed, calve,
and nurse their young.

This encounter offers a program designed with nonswimmers in mind and is an ideal introduction to the
anatomy, physiology and history of the ocean’s most
inspiring mammals. It’s straight into the waist deep
water of our seawater lagoon where you’ll get closely
acquainted with these friendly and curious characters.
Feel their smooth skin, feed them their favorite treat, kiss
and play with them and communicate one-on-one using
your newly learned hand signals.

Our Sea Lion Encounter program is the ideal way to get
to know our fun, flippered friends up-close and personal.
Designed to be both educational and fun, this handson program begins with a short poolside introduction

marine mammal trainers, you’ll get nose-to-nose with
our sea lions in our specially designed pool.
