BHdiaFor 2013 is the First investment

between the 11th and 12th of August
2013.
The Forum objective is to stimulate the
members of the Diaspora and other
investors to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the Region of Prijedor.
About the BH Diaspora
According to the statistics of Ministry of
Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia
and Herzegovina, outside BiH live more
than 1.35 million people who originate
from Bosnia, and compared to the number of inhabitants, they represent one
third of the total BiH population.
Diaspora and GDP
Diaspora is important due to the potential inflow of financial and human capital
in the country. Now, Diaspora is sending
nearly two billion dollars per year, which
makes up for about 20% of the country’s
GDP.
Competence of the diaspora
BiH Diaspora is well educated and highly
skilled. In Norway, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics, almost 50% of
young Bosnians have a college degree,
making them the most educated in the
country in terms of population. According to a survey conducted by the Bosnian
Council in Australia in 2005, 19% of BiH
immigrants have a university degree,
while 4% have a Post Graduate Diploma.
Similar situation is in the USA, where, according to the Bosnian Business Association of North America, 14 % of people
have at least an university diploma.
Expected results
Increase awareness of the diaspora as a development potential from the relevant actors in local economic development in the
region and BiH. BHdiaFor will activate their
instruments at their disposal to facilitate
