KATY’S CAFE
MADIGAN’S
Undoubtedly one of the most popular gathering places
of locals and visitors alike is Katy’s Cafe, a charming
spot located right on the main drag, serving up specialty
coffees, teas and delicious breakfast and lunch options. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Indulge in one of Katy’s
enormously filling breakfast burritos, or for something a
little lighter, go for their Good Morning Bagel - an everything
bagel toasted and filled with cream cheese, cucumbers and bacon. If lunch is more your speed, may we suggest The Happy Wanderer - sliced turkey, sliced
apples, almonds, mayo, gorgonzola and honey on sunflower panini bread. ALERT: Katy’s
FLY-IN is now open! Travel Route 219 south to Great Valley (or land your wings on the
airstrip across the road) and check out Katy’s newest menu - serving breakfast, lunch AND
dinner - burgers, wings, pizza and hefty sandwiches with names like “The Landing,” “Kitty
Hawk” and “Packing Portabella” ... swing out and indulge in Katy’s latest creations!
Madigan’s has long been a staple as one of the most
popular hot spots in the village. Whether it’s late
night drinks and dancing, or a mid-afternoon break
on their back patio, this bar can crank the tunes and
serve up some creative concoctions. Charismatic
bartenders, a pool table on both levels, and daily
specials from the kitchen await your visit. Serving
lunch Tuesday-Saturday; dinner Friday and Saturday.
SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Get out the wet naps for Madigan’s famous wings
smothered in Grace’s even more famous house sauce. If you’re looking for something
a bit more filling, opt for the local favorite, pretzel chicken with honey mustard
cream sauce. And for all you taco lovers out there, Taco Tuesday
dishes out $1.00 tacos from 2-8pm.

BIKE & BEAN
CADILLAC JACK’S
MYERS STEAKHOUSE & INN
SILVER FOX STEAKHOUSE
Ride on over to Bike & Bean, where not only can
you get your two wheels tuned after tackling the
local trails, you can also get down with a variety of
freshly made organic burritos, smoothies, and other
random creations of the moment. All of their ingredients are locally sourced, just another one of the cool
things B&B is doing to make sure you’re getting the best
burrito for your buck. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: It goes without saying, you need to try a burrito - simply choose your size, chicken, steak or veggie
options, and a variety of other fresh fixings - beans and salsas to B&B’s guacamole
made in-house. Looking for some clean, tasty energy? Let Dennis and crew whip up
a fresh, delicious smoothie for you, chock full of flavor and hand-picked local fruit.
Clean fuel + exercise = happy people ... which you’ll find at Bike & Bean.
If there’s one demand owners Tom and Tina Zerbian
have in the kitchen, it’s that all meals served to their
patrons are made using only fresh ingredients - never
frozen or pre-made. Which is why each time you dine
at Cadillac Jack’s, you’re guaranteed to enjoy a delicious,
homemade creation. In business since 1994, the couple is
getting ready to celebrate their first year in their new location
downtown. The new spot is completely renovated with a focus on
vintage Ellicottville; the walls showcase some amazing scenes from years past, with plenty of
stories to go with them. Caddy’s offers two floors of dining as well as outdoor deck seating.
SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Start your visit with TNT shrimp - crispy fried shrimp tossed
with creamy, sweet Thai chili sauce. Wash ‘em down with an Ommegang beer, then indulge
in what Caddy’s is most famous for … mussels! With variations including Thai Coconut,
“Hot Lips” and Mussels from Brussels, your craving for good flavor is sure to be satisfied.
Bring your tastebuds to the party with Myers’ fabulous steaks, fresh seafood, comfort food choices and
fresh salads. Myers is a truly unique and historical location just minutes south of Ellicottville. The
current owners are only the 4th to carry the tradition
of good food in a cozy lodge atmosphere that has been a
part of the Salamanca area for 120+ years. SNOWED-IN
Menu Picks: Their steaks are coated with the chef’s signature
rub and fire-grilled to order … would you believe us if we told you that no steak sauce
is required? It’s true! And if you’re trying to take the healthy route, there’s never
been a better excuse to “have your steak (I mean salad) and eat it too” … Myers
Famous Steakhouse Salad plates fresh romance and iceberg with tomatoes,
cucumbers and onion, then topped with a 6 oz. steak, shredded Parmesan
and homemade buttermilk onion rings … heaven!
Dubbed Ellicottville’s original steakhouse, the Silver
Fox has held a long-standing reputation as one of the
most comfortable and elegant restaurants in the
village. Nightly chef specials, some of the best cuts
of meat around, paired with an extensive wine list
make this a top choice for those in search of a finer
dining experience. The Silver Fox is also known for its
famous Martini Club, which takes place every Friday evening
at 5pm - traditional and signature martinis paired with complimentary appetizers for
the bar crowd to enjoy. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: We’d be kidding ourselves if we
left off sampling one of their martinis (if you’re of age of course), which are the perfect
night-cap to a day on the slopes. We’re also big fans of their steak specials, as well as
the wasabi tuna - pan seared encrusted with wasabi, black and white sesame seeds
and enhanced with spicy sesame sauce ... mmmm!
DOM’S BUTCHER BLOCK
EVL CHEESE COMPANY
VILLAGGIO
WHOLESOME HIDEAWAY
Dom’s Butcher Block, located in the Washington
Square complex behind Coffee Culture, is your #1
place to find fresh cut meat, processed in-house daily.
Take your pick from the cases, or put in your request
for custom cuts. The on-site smoker ensures that
owners Ken and Annette Auteri “only smoke the best”
… meat, that is. All of their smoked meats are made using
time tested old-fashioned techniques right on the premises.
You’ll also find fresh homemade sausage (hot, mild and maple flavored), free range
chicken, and a full line of D’Avolio olive oils, vinegars and gourmet pastas and sauces.
SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Pair your pasta with Twisted Vine Gardens’
VODKA SAUCE. We also recommend you stock up on Dom’s homemade
beef sticks and beef jerky - perfect for stashing in your pocket to take up
on the hill each weekend you come out to ski.
Sliced from the Cuba Cheese Shop, EVL Cheese
Co. is now in its third year downtown (located in the
plaza behind Kwik Fill). In addition to stocking over
225 cheeses, the store also offers salt rising breads,
fresh cheese curd, gourmet delicacies, specialty meats,
jams and jellies, along with an attractive inventory of
great gift ideas - from cutting boards to fancy kitchen
wares to local art and handmade jewelry. Order a custom made
cheese tray or gift basket for your next event. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Dessert
cheeses! Take a taste on the wild side with some of the unique (and oh-so-good) highend cheeses available in the “Big” case at EVL Cheese Company. Choose from Stilton
with Mango and Ginger, Blueberry, or Apricots, 7-year Quebec Cheddar, St. Agur Blue
Cheese, Raclette and so many more! Unique flavors worth indulging in. After all, who
could pass up a cheese called The Drunken Goat?
For those who haven’t made the trip back to Ellicottville since the last snowfall, boy are you in for a treat
during your next visit! Changes have been occurring
throughout the downtown business district – one that
we’re sure you (and your tastebuds) will be pleased with.
Ellicottville has shown a great, warm embrace for the Pitillo
family, who have been hard at work the past couple of months
preparing for their newest endeavor, Villaggio, housed in the
building formerly occupied by The Barn Restaurant. Owner Nick Pitillo and crew are
bringing the family’s strong Italian roots to the table, as Villaggio will offer relaxed Italian
dining using recipes that have been handed down from Pitillo’s own mom and pop. Set to
open this fall, you can bet Villaggio will be a hot spot come ski season, as Nick is working
towards that perfect apres atmosphere - open dining, bars on both floors, ski movies cycling
through on the big screens, and more than enough food and drink to keep the vibe alive.
A new addition to the culinary landscape, this carryout cafe offers the community a healthy platform
for fresh, local and organic on-the-go options. It is
the mission of owner, Brittany Lowry, to encourage
and educate others when it comes to a clean alternative way of eating. The menu, which changes monthly,
consists of all organic, gluten-free, non-dairy ingredients.
SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Grab a Breakfast Bowl on your way
to the slopes - steel cut oats with fresh and local fruit, walnuts, raisins and unsweetened
coconut. For lunch, the Garden Bowl dishes out quinoa, sweet potato, herb roasted
tomato and bell peppers with a side of guacamole. The Mason Jar Salads are a popular
grab-and-go option too ... “get your green on!” And wait til you try the Turtle
Brownies! View each week’s menu by following Wholesome Hideaway on Facebook.
HIDE-A-WAY RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
JOHN HARVARD’S BREW HOUSE
WILDWOOD GRILL
WINERY OF ELLICOTTVILLE
Specializing in homemade favorites and seafood,
The Hide-A-Way is a great place to gather with
friends, family, or colleagues. Enjoy lunch and dinner specials such as chicken and biscuits, meatloaf
sandwiches, lasagna, fish fries, and burgers seven days
a week. Come hang out at the full-length bar, watch
the game, and kick back with a few of your favorite beers,
mixed drinks, or Jell-O shots. But don’t forget to get some substance in you! SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Monday Night is wing night at The
Hide-A-Way. With football season here, you’ll want to come in a little early to claim
your spot - 50 cent wings, $2.00 beers and $2.00 mixers! For a mid-week outing, take
advantage of Wednesday’s “Beer and a Burger” with endless fries (it’s only $9.00!)
Super seafood, prime rib and steak specials, daily specials for lunch and dinner …
there’s something for everyone at The Hide-A-Way!
One of the most picturesque of all the restaurants in
EVL, John Harvard’s is located inside the Tamarack
Club right at Holiday Valley. Grab a slopeside seat
and enjoy the incredible views of the ski hills (or
pools and golf course if you’re visiting in the summer.) An impressive, evolving list of beer and wine await your
perusal to accompany the daily specials prepared by their
talented kitchen staff. Have a large group? Not to worry, John
Harvard’s houses a private dining room, which will surely get the job done whatever
your needs. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Perfect for sharing after a day on the slopes,
the loaded nachos will not disappoint, with both its generous portion size and flavor. (We like it with chicken!) Looking for a proper meal? Harvard’s signature lobster
macaroni & cheese boasts creamy cheddar sauce, cavatappi pasta, tomatoes and
chunks of lobster meat topped with seasoned bread crumbs and truffle oil.
This historic home, formerly the Elks lodge, has
been beautifully restored and is only a 10-minute
drive from Holiday Valley. With enough space for
a private party plus dining areas and bars on three
floors, the Wildwood Grill is the place to be if you’re
looking for a delicious meal and some good company.
SNOWED-IN Menu Picks: Thursday night’s 55-cent
wing night is the most popular special that Wildwood offers.
With thirteen different flavors of wings, it’s no wonder locals and visitors flock to the
Wildwood when their chicken wing cravings strike. We’re also keen on their Friday
night fish fry, available for just $9.95. And don’t forget Happy Hour: $2 draft beers and
$2.50 well drinks Tuesday/Wednesday from 4-7pm and Thursday from 4-9pm.
Find the full menu on the Wildwood Grill’s website … daily specials, tons
of apps to choose from, soups, salads, flavorful burgers, pizza and more!
Details. The smallest details are often the ones that separate the exceptional from the ordinary. Owner Dominic
Spicola’s father, Francesco, taught him that making excellent wine requires great care and attention. Making the
right adjustments at the right time are crucial to achieving
optimal quality. Dominic and his son-in-law, Sam Sheehy,
have honed their skills for years, and couldn’t be prouder of
the lineup of premium quality wines that the Winery of Ellicottville
is offering today. Never mind the pile of medals that their wines have won in competition.
Let your tastebuds be the judge. Wine tastings available daily. SNOWED-IN Menu Picks:
Traminette: a semi-dry white wine with distinct lime and citrus flavors. Pairs well with spicy
foods and Asian cuisine. More of a red wine drinker? Try the Cabernet Franc: look for hints
of delicate cherry beneath the lean oak and spicy flavors, and enjoy the smooth finish.
Dishes spiced with rosemary, tarragon or sage, such as stews and roasts, pair deliciously!
