PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Greetings from the lambing barn!
The 2016 season of the Wisconsin Club Lamb Association is almost upon us and I’d like to take a moment to reflect back on
2015. WCLA membership was up for the second year in a row, and turnout at the shows was the best I have seen in years
as well. On behalf of the board of directors of the WCLA and the groups that host the shows, I say THANK YOU. I said it
last year and I will say it again, these groups sacrificing their time and energy to put these shows on provide the valuable
infrastructure needed for our points program. Hopefully you can support as many shows as possible in 2016 and please
don’t forget to thank the organizers.
Like every year, we continue to have a great group of breeder members supporting the WCLA. As you search for your
next lamb project, I encourage you to start with this group of breeders. Beyond their commitment to the WCLA, these
breeders produce quality lambs that feed well and they are more than willing to assist you with your project along the way.
Once again, our annual meeting will be in Jefferson, WI at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival following the Market
Lamb Show. Make plans to attend. Following the awards banquet we will have our business meeting. Start thinking now
about joining the board, we could always use a few more volunteers to serve on behalf of the WCLA.
