The Coors Light® Story
Style and Brand Characteristics
In 1978, Coors Light was born in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, a setting that
continues to inspire our brewing today.
Style: American Light Lager
Coors Brewing stands for 140 years of uncompromised quality. Our beer is the
result of Coors Light’s relentless commitment to the process: The liquid is always
lagered below freezing and cold-filtered, resulting in brilliant
clarity, and a clean, crisp taste. Coors Light is bottled cold and
never heat pasteurized, which means you get the ultimate in
cold refreshment, every time.
Innovation has been a part of our history since Bill Coors was
instrumental in the invention of the aluminum can in 1959.
Since then, we have brought
consumers the latest in
cold refreshment-focused
innovation: Starting with the
Frost Brew® liner in 2005, the
introduction of cold-activated
mountains in 2007, and
most recently the re-sealable
aluminum pint.
Coors Light will continue to be
brewed for those who want to
explore, conquer, and amaze.
That’s the Rocky Mountain Spirit
of Adventure.
History: Coors Light was first produced in 1978 in
Golden, CO. It reached national distribution in 1991.
Overall Impression: Well-balanced flavor with
malty notes, low bitterness, and light body. The
end result is a clean, crisp finish, making it a highly
sessionable beer.
Food Pairing: The beer’s refreshingly malty taste
contrasts with prominent herbal flavors while its light
carbonation cleanses the palate. Grilled chicken legs
would be a great pairing with Coors Light.
