Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic
Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) has announced an extension, due to popular demand
th
for their 20 anniversary revival of All in the Timing by David Ives. Directed by Tony Awardwinner John Rando (Urinetown; A Christmas Story, The Musical),the production features Eric
Clem (Blue Man Group), Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher), Jenn Harris (Silence! The
Musical), Liv Rooth (Venus in Fur), and Matthew Saldivar (Peter and the Starcatcher). All in
the Timing will now run through April 14 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.
A hit with audiences and critics alike, Ben Brantley of the The New York Times calls All in the
Timing “one of the zestier theatrical tapas to be had” and names the production a “Critics’ Pick”
while Jennifer Farrar of The Associated Press calls it “wordplay and wit...with perfect timing."
Joe Dziemianowicz of The Daily News calls All in the Timing “pure pleasure. David Ives’
evening of one-acts runs like clockwork," while Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal says
"it’s one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in my entire playgoing life."
"We’re thrilled with the response to this new production of All in the Timing,” says Casey Childs.
“This play was an important play both for David Ives' writing career and for the life of Primary
Stages. It began at our first home on West 45th Street and has now received thousands of
productions all over the world. We are delighted to be presenting this 20th Anniversary
production."
All in the Timing features a scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Anita
Yavich, lighting design by Jason Lyons, and original music and sound design by Ryan

is an Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to inspiring,
supporting, and sharing the art of playwriting. We operate on the strongly held belief that the future of
American theater relies on nurturing playwrights and giving them the artistic support needed to create new
work. Since our founding in 1984, we have produced more than 100 new plays, including Kate Fodor’s Rx;
Charles Busch’s Olive and the Bitter Herbs; A.R. Gurney’s Black Tie; Horton Foote’s Harrison, TX and
Dividing the Estate (Two 2009 Tony Award® nominations); Brooke Berman’s Hunting and Gathering (one of
New York Magazine’s Top Ten Plays of 2008); Terrence McNally’s Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams
(starring Nathan Lane and Marian Seldes) and The Stendhal Syndrome (featuring Isabella Rossellini and
Richard Thomas); Danai Gurira and Nikkole Salter’s In the Continuum (which went on to tour the U.S.,
Africa, and Scotland); David Ives’ All in the Timing; and Conor McPherson’s St. Nicholas (which marked the
playwright’s U.S. debut). In 2008, Primary Stages was honored with the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding
Body of Work, which encompasses much more than the plays we produce for the stage. Primary Stages
supports playwrights and develops new works through commissions, workshops, readings, and our
education and training programs: The Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group, the Marvin and Anne
Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), and the Fordham/Primary Stages MFA in Playwriting. Through
these programs, Primary Stages advocates for our artists, helping them make important—and often
transformative—connections within the theater community.
