"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorifu your Father which is in heaven" Matthew 5:16.
Dear Friends,
Have you ever driven down a street where the streetlights are not working properly? It certainly doesn t take long to realize the value
of light and how essential it is to iliuminate the darkaess.
fhe idea of light is used frequently in tl-re Bible. |esus said, "I am the light of the woild" (Iohn 9:5). We are told to "ptut on the armour
of light"by clothing ourselves with the Lord (Romans 13:12). Matthew 5;I6 gives instruction lo "let your light so shinebefore men,
that they
?nay see
your good *,orks, and glorifu yowr Father which is in heavenl'
A light that doesn t shine has lost its usefulness. ]esus said, "Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house" (Matthew 5;I5). Our light, our actions are to point people to the One
wlro is the Light. We don t have any light in ourselves, brrt we shine with the light of Christ. Ephesians 5:8, "For ye were sometimes
darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light!'
It is exciting to report that 25 new missionary candidates were approved during our December Candidate School. These new
missioaaries, alter going through a thorough screening process, are now able to begin the deputation process as they make their way
to various locations aro:rnd the world-Canada, Mexico, Romania, Africa, China, the Military Ministry, USA Church Planting, the
Dominican Republic and the CLAIM ministry. Please pray for these newly appointed missionaries as they begin deputation and all
that comes with raising support. It (deputation) can seem like an overwhelming task.
I would also appreciate your prayers for my upcoming trip to Cairns, Australia, and Papua New Guinea at the end of January. I am
eagerly anticipating serving and ministering to the ministries there-especially the newly esiablished Run Way Baptist Church in Port
Moresby, PNG. I am thankful for a church in Iowa that has given funds to purchase Sunday School materials for Run Way Baptist. Run
Way has also requested songbooks for which I am praying the Lord will supply.
Thank you for the privilege of being a part of your missions outreach program. We understand and know that it is through your
prayers and faithfulness to ollr ministry that we are enabled in the Lord's work. We have many blessings to rejoice in and be thankf:rl
for in the year 2015. Thank you for all you have done. As we approach the coming new year, may we all be mindful of the fact that God
has placed each of us in a specific place that will best allow us to shine His light. Let's not be like a burned-oul streetlight. "Let your
light so shine before men,,." Matthew 5:16,
Yours in Christ,
