ABOUT
THE
PIG PICKIN’
The Jamestown Pig Pickin’ is the annual fundraiser for Family Service of the Piedmont in Jamestown
and surrounding areas. This is an outdoor casual event that takes place under a large tent. The event
features the best local BBQ pork and chicken; beer and wine, soft drinks, southern sides and desserts will
also be served. Music will be by U.B.U. Bid on items from local merchants in our Silent Auction and Live
Auction. Individual tickets to the event are $50 per person.
Last year’s Pig Pickin’ was attended by more than 550 people and raised $63,500 to directly help families
and children in the Jamestown area. With your help, we can have even greater success in 2014!
ABOUT HOSTING
THE
PIG PICKIN’
The key to the success of the Pig Pickin’ is the Host Couple concept. Area couples and individuals are invited
to sponsor the event at the host level for $175. Host names are listed on the invitation, which is mailed
to about 2,000 people in the Jamestown area. Hosts receive 2 tickets to the event, VIP parking and
check-in, and are given a button to wear at the Pick Pickin’, to recognize their level of support. Hosts may
also receive optional yard signs to display prior to the Pig Pickin’.
Additional sponsorship levels are also available, starting at $500, which include the option to list your
sponsorship under a business name. Sponsors receive additional event tickets and recognition, relative to
their level of sponsorship.
We would love to have your support this year! Please contact Jody Susong at (336) 889-6161, Ext. 1105.
Please respond by Monday, June 9th in order to make the invitation printing deadline. Thank You!

ABOUT FAMILY SERVICE
Family Service of the Piedmont is the largest private non-profit agency serving children and families in
Guilford County. Each year, Family Service makes a difference in the lives of about 20,000 children and
adults. The agency has strong roots in the Piedmont community going back to the 1940’s. In 2004, Family
Service established its headquarters in Jamestown, adjacent to the Mary Perry Ragsdale YMCA.
Agency programs include: Clara House and Carpenter House domestic violence shelters, which provide
safety, counseling, court advocacy and case management for women and children escaping violent homes;
two Children’s Advocacy Centers, coordinating the investigation and treatment of child sexual abuse;
in-home therapy and parenting support for new mothers with heightened stress factors; family
preservation intervention for families at risk of having their children removed from the home; individual
and family counseling for victims of depression, grief, anxiety, relationship problems or substance
addiction; free consumer credit counseling to help families reduce debt and avoid bankruptcy or
foreclosure. On the web at www.safeandhealthyfamilies.com
