SPECIAL PRESENTATION:
Blood Done Sign My Name
(With Special Guest author, Tim Tyson)
Friday, March 14, 2013 7pm
In Blood Done Sign My Name, Tim Tyson recounts the 1970 murder
of Henry ‘Dickie’ Marrow in Oxford, NC and the events that followed.
Marrow, who was black, was chased from a local store by three white
men after reportedly making a crude remark to one of the men’s
wives. They brutally beat Marrow then killed him with a bullet to
the head in view of multiple witnesses. Despite the eyewitness
reports, an all-white jury acquitted the
men. The town’s black community
responded to the events with an
uprising that destroyed downtown
businesses and several tobacco
warehouses holding at least a million
dollars in harvested crops. Tyson, who
was 10 at the time, recounts how the
conflagration of events shaped his life
and offer all of us an opportunity to
examine our own roles in the complex
and often confusing racial fabric of
America. Join playwright and actor,
Mike Wiley and author Tim Tyson after
the performance for a Q&A session
with the audience.

With four munchkins of his own and a beautiful
wife who is winning her battle with breast
cancer, Hawkins develops new material
daily by simply absorbing the world around
him. The perils of marriage, parenting, and
homeschooling may not exemplify the rock-star
life, but they sure make for great comedy.

Some would say it is his equally gifted and twisted
approach to the medium. A self-taught guitarist,
Hawkins will go note-for-note on everything
from Skynyrd to Bon Jovi to Prince, while
dishing out flawless vocal imitations of Bono,
Jason Aldean, and John Mayer... all within mere
minutes. His stand-up material is vigorous, welltimed, and honed to perfection. However, the
connection he makes with his fans goes deeper
than that: “If you can’t laugh at yourself, laugh at
other people.”

Since giving up his job as a grocery truck driver in 2002, Tim Hawkins
has been forging the magical blend between two comedic ideals: A
genuinely funny comedy show that caters to the entire family. But
what’s so special about this St. Louis native who is most
notorious for his wretched cow impersonations?

Generation
Bluegrass
Saturday, September 21, 2013 7pm
Generation Bluegrass was born in the mind
of 17 year-old Corey Smith as he sought to
merge his talents as a videographer with his
talent and love for Bluegrass Music. When the
idea was pitched to friend and fellow musician, 17 year-old Zeb Snyder-a project was born that showcases
the talents of this amazing group of up and coming bluegrass musicians, encourage younger folks to play
and enjoy heritage music, and finally to honor those older musicians that have given us such a rich musical
heritage. Generation Bluegrass members include, Zeb and Samantha Snyder (Snyder Family Band); The
Church Sisters; The Moore Brothers; Shane and Alex Edwards; and The Smith Family. You will not only
be entertained and amazed by the talent of these young musicians, but you will be encouraged by the
character of these performers. The future of bluegrass music is indeed in good hands.

A true American institution whose iconic pop, country and gospel hits defined
generations, B.J. Thomas has found a unique way to celebrate an incredible half a
century in music. The singer, a five time Grammy and two time Dove Award winner
who has sold more than 70 million records and is ranked in Billboard’s Top 50 most
played artists over the past 50 years, invites longtime fans and newcomers alike to
his living room—or more accurately, The Living Room Sessions. Many of Thomas’
signature hits (from “Raindrops” to “Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong
Song” and “Lonesome”) were recorded as duets with guest artists from different genres including pop great
Richard Marx, country legend Vince Gill, bluesman Keb’ Mo’, Lyle Lovett, and rocker Isaac Slade.
The surprise emergence of the Oscar winning “Raindrops” in a key scene in “Spider-Man 2” in 2004
underscored Thomas’ continued place as an identifiable cultural touchstone, and in recent years—as he
continues to do 60-80 shows annually throughout the U.S. and tour internationally everywhere from Australia
and Hong Kong to Paris—he has discovered just how deep and loyal his fans’ commitment runs.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:
Meredith Willson’s The Music Man - Presented by Neuse Little Theatre
Friday & Saturday November 15-16, 2013 8pm; Sunday, November 17, 2013 3pm
Professor Harold Hill likes a challenge and when the other salesmen on
the train heading west tell him that Iowa is the biggest test of all of sales
ability, he gets off at River City. The confidence man intends to cheat the
community with his standard scam of offering to equip and train a boy’s
marching band, then skip town with the money since he has no music
skill anyway. Things go awry when he falls for Marian, the librarian,
who isn’t falling for the professor’s line. He convinces many of his other potential customers that the new
pool table that has just been placed in the billiard parlor could mean “trouble in River City.” And how to keep
the youngsters “moral after school?” Form a boys marching band. All the while trying to divert Marian from
exposing him and inadvertently enriching the town with a love of music.

comedy about a boy, a girl, their meddling fathers
and the wall that divides them, The Fantasticks
is crafted with charming simplicity, captivating
music and whimsy. This timeless tale will ignite your
imagination, delight your senses and leave you completely
fulfilled. Whether you are revisiting this beloved musical or seeing it for the first
time, it guarantees entertainment!

“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’s best-loved stories
collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper!
The Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee (and
all-around mischief-maker) in this romp through
the Seuss classics. When the sweet, goodnatured elephant Horton hears a small cry for
help coming from a small speck of dust, he
promises to rescue and guard it because “a person’s a person, no matter how
small.” Dr. Seuss’s beloved classic characters find themselves intertwined in an
incredible crazy-quilt adventure, in which the power of imagination and the
most miraculous “think” ever save the day!

The brand new sing-a-long version of the classic film starring John Travolta and
Olivia Newton-John brought to you by the producers of Sing-a-long-a Sound of
Music.
Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a T-bird or a Pink Lady but never quite
felt cool enough to pull it off? Well, now is your chance to don those pink jackets,
grease up those quiffs and let your inhibitions go for an evening where you are the
stars and remember GREASE is the word…
The evening begins with your host leading a vocal warm-up before they show you
how to use your free goody bag. You’ll even get a chance to learn how to hand jive.
Then just sit back and watch Danny & Sandy and the gang, while singing and dancing along to the lyrics as
shown on the screen.
It couldn’t be easier…or more fun! Dressing up is strongly encouraged and full audience participation
is essential.
