exchange of pilots experiences
To disseminate project results within related stakeholders across
Europe, promoting them across Internet, public administrations, the
citizenship and the related industry.
To carry out the necessary networking activities with other
projects and initiatives related to smart electro-mobility.
To promote the use of ICT solutions for smart electro-mobility.
To increase the citizen’s awareness in smart elector-mobility and
creation of engagement campaigns for the pilots.
To prepare the final exploitation plan of the project results and
manage IPR issues for the new products and systems deployed

Overview of Task 5.2 Engagement Campaigns for
the Pilots, WP5
The project has the objective to obtain the participation of users, which is a
critical success. The following types of communication material will be
produced:
Awareness material is aimed to encourage or remind the citizens to behave
in a certain way
Engagement materials: Presentations in public spaces within the cities will
be done by the local authorities in order to present the project and enrol
the maximum number of citizens in the pilots
In the case of BRISTOL, the Council will discuss the implication of users with
BEVA, Bristol Electric Vehicle users Associations and trade distributors.

Awareness Material
Awareness Material has been created relating to ICT4EVEU and the Bristol
Pilot’s CP infrastructure (under the brand of Source West)

Additionally, the Bristol pilot been tasked with delivering a website with full
social media integration. This allows for a more targeted awareness
campaign of the identified market segment.

charging infrastructure.

completed by its members.
• A monthly Source West newsletter is sent out
to members updating them on developments
with the Bristol pilot.

Source West Short Film
• In April 2014 the Bristol pilot
commissioned Green.TV to create a short
film to promote the pilot.
• So far the film has been viewed:

Done so far
1.European Mobility Week held in September 2014 in Pamplona and
Vitoria-Gasteiz. Within this framework, general dissemination and
awareness about EV, ICT4EVEU project information, collaboration with car
dealers and car sharing companies to test EV vehicles and services.

1. Engagement campaign started in February (contacts with car dealers in
Pamplona to introduce them the project and to gather their collaboration)
and June (contact with EV users).
2. In-house testing was done in March-June.
3. Pamplona: transition from existing Citizen Card (services offered by
Acciona) to Iberdrola for those interested, was done in June.
4. Press conference in Pamplona to present the engagement campaign and
the pilot Pamplona-Vitoria Gasteiz, in 24th of June.
5. Questionnaire (by the Pamplona City Council) to EV users about the
use of the the infrastructure and so on.

5. Pilot will be open to the public: 1st of July to 31th of October (including
the European Mobility Week 22-26 September).
6. Our website has the information about the Engagement campaign.
7. European Mobility Week, several activities about electric vehicle. Open
days Car Sharing, Conference “Aspectos económicos de la movilidad
sostenible”, drive test of electric vehicles…
8. Many cities have contacted with us to know the status of our project,
this cities will know the project in a conference which will be held on 16
of October. In this conference we can share our experience in the
project with our colleges of The Spanish Smart Cities Network.
9. Technical committee of the Spanish Smart Cities Network will be
held on 14 of November in Pamplona. College from Valladolid and
Vitoria are thinking to come to this event by electric vehicle with the
scope of test our interoperability.

Vitoria-Gasteiz Engagement Campaign and Results
1. Engagement campaign: A press release was published in 19th of August
2014 in Vitoria-Gasteiz to local and regional media to inform about the
engagement campaign and the Vitoria Gasteiz-Pamplona pilot. Several
local press and media echoed about the campaign:

a) Objective of the pilot: Urban and interurban pilots in the cities of
Pamplona and Vitoria-Gasteiz:
Promotion of EV at urban scale in both cities.
Creation of a corridor for EVs among Vitoria-Gasteiz and Pamplona
(100 Km).
Integration of infrastructures and interconnectivity of management
systems by the two Charging Managers in each region (Ibil and
Iberdrola) to offer services to users in the EV corridor
b) Objective of the campaign (WP5):
The aim is create a communication plan to engage users (drivers)
in order to test the EV corridor and the services using different
devices and applications.
Dissemination: Awareness material, events and media.

3.EVE partner opened a Mobility center in Vitoria-Gasteiz in
collaboration with Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. It is a EV and car-sharing
renting place, also with the aim to create awareness about EV and the
ICT4EVEU project.
4.EV users in Pamplona identified through Gobierno de Navarra Citizen
Card: expected transition from existing Citizen Card (services offered by
Acciona) to Iberdrola.

e-mobility: Global Chance, seven minutes of positive mobility

Communication Plan and Campaign
1. Different public defined: EV users, clients of IBIL and Iberdrola, companies,
car dealers.
2. Message adapted depending on type of users (ie: all services offered to EV
users in general but roaming only to clients of IBIL and Iberdrola)
3. Services offered: information about charging posts, reservation in
advance, roaming.
4. Channels: telephone calls, meetings (car dealers), web, posters/roll-up,
brochures.
5. Obligations: at least three return trips, filling a questionnaire and a
demonstrative photo.
6. Incentives:
• Private users: smartphone for some of them. No extra cost.
• Companies, car dealers: publicity.

1. Questionnaire (by Elektro Ljubljana and Elektro Maribor) to EV users
about the general use of the vehicle, the infrastructure and additional
services.
2. Elektro Maribor and Elektro Ljubljana continuously update their
web page with news related to electromobility
3. In March, Elektro Maribor organized a visit of pupils of secondary
School for Transport. A charging station and EVs were presented
together with additional functionalities (among them also roaming)
4. On 11. April the ICT4EVEU was presented at the Conference
RegioMove14 in Leoben (Austria/Styria). The regional component of
ICT4EVEU was presented with appeal to visitors to follow the
development of the project and the cooperation Slovenia-Styria

5. In April 22, at the occasion of Earth day, Elektro Maribor (with an EV)
and ETREL participated at the conference E-Mobility: Business
opportunity for Slovenia and explained to participants the roaming
functionality and its benefits for EV users and e-mobility actors
6. In May Elektro Maribor supported the 3rd International student’s
challenge in design and manufacturing of electric bikes. Elektro
Maribor presented electric vehicles and supporting charging
functionalities

10. In May, after the implementation of roaming system, internal
users (from Elektro Ljubljana and Elektro Maribor) and some
external users were informed about roaming functionality to test the
system

11. On 15. and 16. September Elektro Maribor participated at the
event High School Natural-historical and Technical Day of Maribor
schools »In the footsteps of Nikola Tesla in Maribor«. The event was
visited by 640 visitors, primarily elementary school students, high
school students, as well as the general public. Elektro Maribor
showcased and presented its electric vehicle, charging of EV,
possibilities of roaming at the charging infrastructure, as well as
answered many other questions related to electromobility.

12. On 19. September Elektro Maribor
participated at the European Mobility Week
in Maribor. As a part of the event, Elektro
Maribor presented to the interested public the
EV and activities related to electromobility, and
informed the visitors on roaming at the
charging stations and on other current topics.
The presentation attracted the attention of a large number of visitors.
13. On 22. September Elektro Maribor participated at the European
Mobility Week in Ljutomer. On this day, the city of Ljutomer held a
car-free day. At the city main square Elektro Maribor showcased and
presented the electric car to 400 visitors, mostly young people, and the
advantages of electric mobility, the possibilities of charging electric
cars and roaming at the charging infrastructure, as well as answered a
number of questions. 400 attended the event at Glavni trg
