The Re[Act] concept is centered on the idea that what is important to God must be important to us. Youth groups around our city are using the month of November to make a difference in the world locally, nationally, and globally. We all know that the needs around us our enormous: hunger, hate, poverty, neglect, abuse; the list could go on and on. Together, we can make a difference in our city, our country and in the world. Our prayer is that students would be inspired to make a difference. As they learn about what it truly means to be mission minded, we pray that compassion in action becomes a lifestyle change that they will adopt for the rest of their lives. Please join us on this journey by praying for your students and encouraging them to participate in the Re[Act] series on Sunday evenings during the month of November. There is even a special evening where the whole family can jump in and participate as well! Please read below for more details! Sunday, November 7 5:30-7:30 “If not you, then who?” This week we will focus on ordinary people whose small efforts ended up changing history forever. Come and see what Daniel, Mother Teresa and Blake Mycoskie, creator of TOMS Shoes, have in common and how you can impact your nation in the same way! Sunday, November 14 5:30-7:30 “If not now, then when?” This week we will Re[Act] globally by putting our compassion into action. Students will have the opportunity to bring in items to fill shoeboxes for operation Christmas Child, and complete special project for Compassion International. *Shoe boxes will be provided; we are asking that students bring items to fill the boxes appropriately for an 11-13 year old child, and/or a monetary offering to ship the boxes.* Sunday, November 21 5:30-7:30 “Loving our neighbor” This week the entire family is invited to join us for a special pancake supper in Brown Hall at 5:30pm. Families will have the opportunity to create Christmas cards and crafts that our students will then deliver to local nursing homes as well as our homebound church members. Come and discover the impact that local missions can have on your family as we approach the season of giving.
