Dear parents,
You can be more involved in your children education. Your engagement is a key factor in the enhancement of your children achievement and well-being. To help you
with this, Georges Washington Academy is encouraging parents and students to benefit from BrainPop.

Moby who introduce the learners to a variety of curriculum subjects. It covers topics
aligned to standards across the curriculum, including: Science, Social Studies, English, Reading, Math, Arts, and Health. BrainPop can be used by teachers in the school
as well as parents and students at home.

ATHLETICS
The GWA Varsity Girls and Boys Volleyball teams traveled to Milan, Italy, March 1-4th, to participate in the Annual International School of Milan's Volleyball Tournament.
It is the first time that an African country has been invited to this tournament and the host country
was very impressed with the quality of the both the Boys and Girls teams and sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.
The Boys and Girls came home with a second and third place trophy and Hanna Welling and Salim
Touzani were named to the All Star tournament teams.
There were International schools from Italy, Turkey and Switzerland participating in the tournament.
There were 13 Boys and 13 Girls from GWA and 6 chaperones that went on the trip and I would like
to congratulate the teams on their success and thank the wonderful Chaperones for all of their support throughout the trip, Matthew Ihle,Emmy Rachad,Khalid Sadir, Mustapha Sadir, Marian Welling.
Thanks also to the Administration Teaching staff and Parents, for allowing the trip to go ahead and
providing the much needed support for trips such as these.
We look forward to continuing this type of international sport competition to further enhance our
athlete's abilities.
