HEADMASTER’S WELCOME
Welcome to this Yearbook which shows the huge variety of events
and activities that take place both on and off our unique campus.
During the course of this
last academic year we
have once again seen the
school grow and flourish
in so many areas.
We have realised the potential
of the East Wing of the Georgian
building with a sympathetic
refurbishment, including the
discovery and exposure of two
original fireplaces. This area
makes an attractive Sixth Form
area, full of character, conducive
to this higher level of study.
The sports facilities have also been
improved with the newly surfaced
tennis courts and a multi-purpose
area for basketball, netball and
general fitness training. This facility,
combined with the manicured
playing fields and our Sports Hall,
provides a firm platform for our
sporting successes over the last year.
Two examples will serve to illustrate
the many significant sporting
accomplishments of last year. Our
Under 15 cricket team finished the
season unbeaten with the Captain
averaging over 60 with the bat. The
Under 13 Football team finished the
season in fine form winning the gold
medal in the ISA Olympic Festival
of Sport without losing a game or
02
Mr Jonathan Cramb
conceding a goal. In fact, only one
team managed a shot on our goal
throughout the whole tournament!
In academic achievement our GCSE
pupils have done commendably
well and by value-added measure,
exceptionally well. This is the
measure that indicates how well a
school has brought on pupils from
one key stage to another. Last year,
pupils at Priory School outperformed
their predicted results by up to two
grades. This is a truly remarkable
accomplishment and a much
Priory School Yearbook 2012
fairer measure of what we actually
achieved. This, in fact, puts Priory
School in the top 5% of schools in
the UK by value-added measure.
Pupil progress in our school is
therefore judged to be exceptional.
Sports and academics form two of
the solid Priory pillars. The other
pillars of strength are pastoral
care, concern for others and
the rich variety of activities.
Priory continues to give you
the ‘edge’ in Edgbaston!

ENGLISH
Within the English department, pupils
have had the opportunity to partake
in a variety of creative competitions.
k
Our world boo e
er
celebrations w
the pinnacle
of our year.
In the Autumn term a competition was conducted
whereby pupils were asked to write a Christmas
verse, with the winning entry being included
in the official school Christmas card. Siena
Henson, in Year Seven was the overall winner
with her poem entitled ‘The Snow Queen’.
Our World Book Day celebrations were the pinnacle of
our year with a variety of literature related activities
being conducted throughout the school. All pupils in
KS3 completed a Literature Quiz based on the novels
that they have been reading in school. The winner of
the Literature Quiz was Siena Henson in Year 7 and
the winner of the staff Arts Quiz was Ms Guiver.

In summary this year has been
“Out with the old, in with the new!”.
September saw us
welcoming the Prep School
to their new school Library.
It has two separate rooms, one
which houses most of the lending
books with some attractive new
furniture and another area
where the pupils can have their
Library book choices issued
and returned and change their
Reading Set books. The adding
to our catalogue of the Reading
Set books, now clearly and
attractively displayed in Stages
7-16, makes it easier for pupils
to choose what they need.
The year started with the Inter house
spelling competition where pupils were
required to spell a range of difficult
words appropriate to their age group,
with a grand final taking place at
the end of the week. The winning
house was Cadbury – well done!
Miss Coffey led an Autumn poetry workshop during
‘Learn to Learn’ where pupils went outside to celebrate
the natural elements and take advantage of the beauty
of our campus. They collected leaves, flowers, twigs
and a whole host of natural resources on which to base
their sensory poetry which was then put on display.
LIBRARY REPORT
Also on this day, all pupils entered the
Radio 2 short story competition where pupils
crafted a narrative in only 500 words.
The standard of these stories was very high and
showed that J.K Rowling has some fierce competition
from Priory pupils. The overall winners were Sunil
Blaggan, Chishimba Chipeta and Glenn Ong’Era.
Priory School Yearbook 2012
Academic Life
We have again updated and
upgraded the stock in both
Libraries to reflect the needs of
the students and staff, a process
which is still ongoing. Many new
books, both Fiction and Non-Fiction
have been purchased and added
to stock, and much of the existing
book stock updated to make
the Libraries and their contents
more attractive and welcoming.
Two highly successful Book Fairs
have taken place, in Autumn
2011 and Spring 2012, and
many attractive new books were
purchased for both Libraries with
the commission we earned. Prep
lunchtime book exchange sessions
are very lively and well attended.
Issue figures for both Libraries
have increased this year, with an
average of 120+ books on loan
every week. We are still working
closely with the staff in both
Schools to promote Accelerated
Reading and encouraging our
reluctant readers to read more.
Three regular EP sessions for
Accelerated Reading are held
weekly with lots of attractive
stock to support them.
This year for World Book Day in
March we decided to concentrate
on showcasing our muchimproved Non- Fiction stock in both
Libraries. We took over the Board
Room for the day and arranged
books in topic and subject areas
so the staff could see what we
have and consider borrowing
and using them for lessons,
in addition to recommending
titles to their pupils. This was a
very successful approach.

SCIENCE
HISTORY
This year has been an exciting one
for our Science department!
National Science &
Engineering Week: 9th
– 18th March 2012
Year 7 have been studying life in medieval times. They have been
experiencing the Black Death and living life through a castle siege!
Year 7 enjoyed a thrilling
trip to Warwick Castle
where they scaled the
battlements, saw birds of
prey in flight and operated
a real trebuchet!
Year 8 lessons have included a
detailed study of life in Tudor
times. They have considered the
unfortunate fate of most of Henry
VIII’s wives, as well as completing
a fascinating project about
important individuals from the
Renaissance. Their visit to Selly
Manor saw them trying on armour,
discovering a priest hole, learning
about Tudor food and cooking.
Year 9 has had an in depth look at
life in the nineteenth and twentieth
10
centuries. They studied how the
living conditions in London in 1888
created the perfect atmosphere for
Jack the Ripper to get away with
his crimes. They took part in CSI
Titanic, where they took on the role
of investigators and tried to work out
who should get the blame for the
disaster. They also discovered how
Hitler got voted into power. They
enjoyed an excellent educational
visit to the Black Country Living
Museum, where our students had
lots of interesting questions to ask.
Their studies included prehistoric
medicine men and Hippocrates’
theory of the Four Humours.
Year 11 have been completing
their in-depth study on Germany
from 1918-1945. They have learnt
how Germany was devastated
after World War One, and how the
climate was set for Hitler to get
voted into power. They have taken a
specific look at how Hitler changed
Germany, and the persecution
that many people suffered.
Year 10 have been studying the
gruesome and fascinating history
of medicine through time, and
have discovered how medicine
and health have evolved and
developed from prehistoric times.
At the start of the year there was a
Black History Month competition
with a number of very high
quality entries. First place went to
Usman Azfar for an excellent work
in chalk showing inspirational
figures from Black History.

Academic Life
National Science & Engineering
Week shines the spotlight each
March on how science, technology,
engineering and maths relate
to our everyday lives.
At Priory we decided to offer our
pupils the chance to engage in
an all day “hands-on” CSI Forensic
Science Workshop. The workshop
was designed to promote inquiry–
based learning and includes
‘’hands on’’ forensic techniques.
Year 7 National Space
Centre trip 13th March 2012
54 Year 7 pupils visited the National
Space Centre in Leicester as
part of their ‘Gravity & Space’
and ‘Forces’ curriculum.
The visit included a space theatre
show, gallery trails, workshops
and a time slot in the 360 degree
planetarium where the pupils
were amazed by the sights and
sounds of the solar system.
Year 8 Faraday
Engineering Challenge
A team of 6 Year 8 pupils
represented the School at the
annual Faraday Engineering
Challenge and came 3rd. They
did a tremendous job of producing
a prototype water dispensing
mechanism for a race walking
competition for the Olympics.
They scored an impressive
133 out of 150 points and were
commended for their team spirit
and money management skills.
They are currently number
10 on the league table out
of about 300 schools.
Salter’s Chemistry Festival
Four pupils from Year 8 were
presented with the opportunity to
visit the prestigious University of
Birmingham to participate in Salter’s
Chemistry Festival on 3rd May 2012.
The pupils were given a unique
experience which involved
conducting investigations in forensic
science in the University laboratory
using lab equipment and most
importantly working independently.
It appears we have some real CSI
lab technicians in the making!
11
The school musical
of ‘Our Day Out’ by
Willy Russell had some
excellent whole cast
chorus singing and some
excellent solos. The
musical accompaniment
included Chloe Howard
on the drums.
MUSIC
The Senior House Music
festival was a closely fought
competition, with many
pupils demonstrating their
superb accomplishments
as instrumentalists.
We have had two lovely afternoon tea and music concerts this
year, with fantastic performances from across the disciplines
of song, instrumental playing, dancing and speech.
We also performed at a joint
concert with Preparatory
pupils for visitors for the
SHCJ conference, with
Senior pupils demonstrating
to the Preparatory pupils
the levels of performances
that they can aspire to.
12
At Christmas, we continued our
festive tradition by visiting the
Sunrise Senior Living, performing
an uplifting and joyful concert.
Pupils also contributed to the
first joint Preparatory and
Senior Christmas Carol Service,
which was a great success.
There have been a number of trips
to the Symphony Hall to hear the City
of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
Priory School Yearbook 2012
perform, including watching
Miss Johnson sing in the chorus
for Verdi’s Requiem, a concert in
Autumn including some theme and
variations music and a Key Stage 3
education concert, demonstrating
the link between maths and music
and demonstrating music that
represents this, introduced by
the TV presenter Johnny Ball.
Academic Life
This culminated in the forms battling
it out against each other in a highly
entertaining ‘sing off’. There have
again been two whole school talent
competitions this year, with “Priory’s
got the X factor” at Christmas and
“Priory’s Got Talent” in the summer,
providing a lovely end to each term.
Instrumental pupils have continued
to work hard and several pupils
have gained brilliant music
exam grades with many more
preparing to take their grades
next year. Orchestra and choir
continue to progress, performing
well in the summer Awards
Ceremony and looking forward
to future success next year.
13
Have you ever wanted to have a
go at becoming The Apprentice?
On the 29th May 2012, pupils in Year 7, 8 and 9 had
exactly that opportunity. The brief was to create a new
brand for a special edition Olympic cereal.
After a short introduction to the task
by Sir Alan Splenda (an alternative to
Sugar…), pupils split off into their groups
to have a brainstorming session.
The first task was to come up with a catchy
name for their product. Names such as OlympiO’s and Olympic Rings were banded about and
teams eventually settled on the names before
embarking on putting together a business plan.
Throughout the day, budding entrepreneurs
worked on designing their logo and cereal box,
testing food for nutrient content, designing a
billboard advert and creating a business plan.
The final session involved putting together
a presentation for 3 judges who rated their
work based on categories such as teamwork,
presentation, marketing strategy and profit.
There were some excellent examples of teamwork
from the teams but ultimately teams had to be hired!
There were 3 winning teams, each winning
a big box of chocolates for their efforts,
but well done to everyone involved!

“Make a Wish”
Fashion Show
What better way to finish the Spring term than
with Priory’s first ever charity fashion show?
The show featured dancing,
musical performance,
comedy sketches and, of
course, an amazing array
of catwalk displays.
Students from all year groups took
part in the fashion extravaganza,
sporting outfits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s
and 80’s as well as urban wear and
cultural Asian outfits. Our special
guest ‘Gok Wan’ entertained the
audience with a styling competition
against Miss Mckechnie which
resulted in models dressed in
bowler hats, wigs and masks!
The show raised over £500 for the
Make a Wish foundation; a charity
dedicated to granting the wishes
of sick and terminally ill children.
Thank you to all those who came
along to support, and for all your
generous donations. Well done
to the students who took part,
this was a truly magical event.
Our students then showcased
some of their own designs made
completely from recycled materials.
However, the show’s finale of
ball gowns and suits delighted
the audience as model couples
walked arm in arm down the
catwalk before the girls took over
in a fashion face off to Beyonce’s
‘Who run the world? Girls!’

BOYS P.E.
Priory wins National
Fair Play Award
Year 7 Football
The Priory School Year 7&8 team
were awarded the Independent
School Fair Play Award for 2012.
District Champions & West
Midland Runners-Up
The Year 7 boys 5-a-side football team made a bit of
Priory School history when they became the first Priory
School team to lift a District Football Trophy. The boys
were in exceptional form and both Archbishop Ilsley
and Baverstock School had no answer to their stunning
passing and movement. Archbishop Ilsley were first to
be put to the sword and were soundly beaten 6-1, with 5
goals from Odin Bailey. Next came Baverstock who were
also crushed under the Priory juggernaut, this time by
a score line of 7-1 with another 5 goals by Odin Bailey.
This then meant that Priory went to the West Midlands
Finals, where they finished runners-up to Thomas Telford.
This award was given for receiving the highest marks from
match referees for conduct and behaviour, and
they were impressed by the manner in which they
conducted themselves on the field. They thought the
school stood out amongst the 63 other schools that
entered the tournament. Brentwood (Essex) who beat
Priory in the quarter-finals found time to write:
“I wish to write formally to thank and praise Priory.
They were a fine team, led by an outstanding captain (Platini
Te Kamdem), who played an excellent style of football.
District 11-a-side Champions!
More importantly, their conduct off and on the pitch
was exemplary. Their boys were extremely competitive
on the field and absolutely charming off it.
The Year 7 football team rounded off an outstanding
season with a 2-0 victory over Turves Green School in
the Kings Norton District Cup final. The boys dominated
for long periods of the game, without really getting into
top gear. The first goal came when Oliver Fluke fired
into the roof of the net following a goal mouth scramble,
and although Priory played some good football, a
stubborn Turves Green proved difficult to break down
again and the half ended with Priory leading 1-0. The
second half continued much the same as the first, with
Priory once again passing the ball well and Turves
Green defending well, until Ajay beat a man in the
middle of the park and hit a ‘Scholes like’ pass through
the middle of the defence for Odin to run onto and in 2
touches, smash the ball into the bottom corner. This was
no more than the boys deserved as Turves Green did
not have a shot on target throughout the whole game.
18

The game was a splendid advertisement for U13 ISFA football.
Each one shook hands with our staff to say thank you.”

Year 8
Cross Country
ISA Midland CrossCountry Champions
The Year 7 & 8 boys became
the 2nd ever Priory ISA Midland
Champions on Wednesday 25th
January, by winning the under
14 cross-country competition
at Bedstone College. The team,
made up of captain Platini Te
Kamdem, Oliver Fluke, Harry
Fluke, Reece Fackrell, Felix
Price, Yusuf Roy and Motheo
Pono braved 2 miles of mud,
hills, streams and more mud
to finish 1st in the team race.
More glory was bestowed on
Platini Te Kamdem who also won
the individual race, adding to his
1500m and Long Jump Midland
titles. Reece Fackrell and Yusuf
Roy finished 9th and 10th and
along with Platini will now go
on to represent the Midlands in
the ISA National Cross-Country
Finals. Oliver and Harry Fluke
were the next home for Priory,
finishing 15th and 19th. Motheo
Pono finished 30th despite losing
his shoe with a mile to go, but this
did not stop “mighty” Motheo who
continued to run over stones and
through rivers with only one shoe!
A great effort that sealed the team
title for Priory. Felix Price then
finished in a good time which
meant that Priory were crowned
the Midland Champions!

GIRLS P.E.
The highlights of the year have been mostly
down to the success of the year 7 girls’ teams.
They finished 2nd in the
Kings Norton District
Netball League, beating
two King Edward’s teams
and finished behind a
strong EHS team who have
been playing together
for a number of years.
They have scored over 50 goals in 7
matches and also finished one point
away from a place in the quarter
finals of the Kings Norton District
Tournament. In addition to this
they were highly successful in their
first two rounders games against
Arnold Lodge winning 18-12 ½
rounders and 15 ½ - 10 ½ rounders.
The U11 netball team’s spirit and
performance showed in the first ever
Priory School Netball tournament
which was well attended by five
other primary schools from the
local area. Priory finished fourth
overall which was pleasing. All
girls from year 5 and 6 were
involved either as a player or a
scorer/timekeeper/court runner.
The Year 10 GCSE PE group took
part in a visit to the University of
Birmingham’s School of Sport and
Exercise Science in order to find
out more about this exciting and
Sporting Life
dynamic area of sport. During
their time at the School, they used
specialist equipment in order to
conduct practical experiments
which examined body composition
and VO2 max (oxygen consumption).
They enjoyed a tour of the building
and had the opportunity to see a
biomechanics experiment which
was testing the efficiency of a speed
bike, as well as viewing scanning
machines and an acclimatization
chamber. The day was finished
off with a tour of the University
Campus where pupils walked
around the Great Hall and got a
real feel for University life by being
in and around the student body.
Mixed Rounders
The prep school mixed rounders
team performed impressively in
the Catholic Schools’ Rounders
competition, narrowly missing
out on a place in the finals by 2
points. Nathan Mead scored a
high percentage of the points, with
Munmeet Jagpal and Nina DixonBiggs also having a strong influence
in the games. All pupils batted and
fielded incredibly well and were
praised for their team spirit and
sporting attitudes. Well done to all!

PRIORY
POPPETS
Poppets once again had a very enjoyable
and productive year. Early in the year we
had a visit from the Animal man where
the children were able to handle various
animals including a snake, hedgehog,
African bull frog, skunk and an owl.
We followed the animal theme with a trip to Ash
End House Farm, the children were given the
opportunity to bottle feed the lambs and kids.
The children enjoyed handling the chicks and collecting eggs to take
home. The children sang and acted out different nursery rhymes
including Baa Baa Black sheep, Little - Bo Peep and Humpty Dumpty.
At school the children were delighted to watch chicks hatch and
grow, they gained knowledge of where eggs come from and what
they hatch into. We now have a chicken coop which the children
can enjoy as part of their outdoor learning. Continuing on from our
successful growth of fruit and vegetables last year we have added
blackcurrants, strawberries and more herbs to our collection. The
children continue to care for them and experience the different tastes.
The children celebrated the Diamond Jubilee with a teddy
bears picnic where the children made their own picnic food
and had fun and games, decorating classrooms and outdoor
areas with bunting on trees, wearing crowns, waving flags
and blowing horns. The children performed to their family
and friends The Christmas Nativity, Little Red Riding Hood for
the Spring Concert and ended the year with Graduation.

TRIPS & VISITS
Year 8 visit to Turin, Italy
In May, 25 year 8 pupils travelled
to Turin as part of a return visit to
the International School of Turin.
After a very early start pupils
had an action-packed visit full of
sports, culture and history.
They spent a sunny afternoon canoeing down the
River Po and exploring a medieval settlement.
Year 9 trip
to the Black
Country Museum
In May, Year 9 pupils enjoyed
a Humanities trip to the Black
Country Living Museum.
We learned about caves
and canals, and immersed
ourselves in life in Victorian
times. We saw how people
worked during the Industrial
Revolution, the conditions
people lived in, and how much
life has changed since then.
Pupils particularly enjoyed
watching the chain maker
in action, visiting a Victorian
schoolroom, and learning
about medicines in 1900.
We sampled the local cuisine extensively
and took in the fabulous sights, sounds and
smells of Italy’s fourth largest city.
3000 year old mummies provided a gruesome and
educational experience, and some students had to
close their eyes for a thrilling ride in a glass elevator
up the 180 meter high Mole Antonelliana tower.
Football
Development Tour to
Malaga: Sponsored
by WCR Building
Contractors
There was also time for socialising with old
acquaintances made during the International School
of Turin’s visit to Priory School last year. We listened to
fascinating presentations, and took part in basketball,
volleyball and football in sweltering sunshine. This was a
very rewarding visit to a captivating and beautiful city.
Priory took 30 boys on a football
tour development tour to Malaga
during the Easter holidays; the
tour included two training sessions
a day and two fixtures against
Spanish opposition for each of
the u13 and u16 age groups.
We hope to maintain this excellent international link,
and to make the most of this relationship in the future.
The coaches for the training sessions
were the Malaga CF academy u14 &

u16 team managers, who organised
practises that were specific to a
Spanish style of football. Both teams
were encouraged to practise a short
passing game, which emphasised
technical skills in receiving and
moving into space – rather than a
more direct English style of football.
All the boys embraced this style
change and attempted to implement
the Spanish style of football into their
play and at times produced some
excellent quality during training.
The boys also had the fantastic
opportunity to play against some
high class Spanish opposition and
experience the short passing style
first hand. Although all four games
ended in defeat, Priory defended
brilliantly throughout and clearly
improved their understanding of
holding their position and some new
continental defending techniques.
The tour awards were handed
out on the last day and the
award winners were:
Junior Player of the Tour: Seth
Thompson for excelling defensively
during the u13 games.
Year 7 trip to
Warwick Castle
Year 7 visited Warwick Castle as part
of the year 7 History syllabus. They
walked in the footsteps of a medieval
knight, saw birds of prey in flight,
and faced their fears in the castle
dungeon. We spotted crenellations,
arrow slits, machicolations, and
saw the impressive trebuchet fire.
Senior Player of the Tour: Umar
Farooq for adding some “Spanish
quality” during the u16 games.
Training Award: Motheo Pono
for superb effort and quality
during the training sessions.
Goal of the Tour: Keanu Murrain
with a 20 yard “boomer”
into the top corner during
the 1st game of the tour.
Priory School would like to thank it's
sponsors WCR Building Contractors
for it's support on the tour.

FOREST SCHOOL
The development of our outdoor space has continued
unabated this year, with many developments being
brought to fruition and many more in the pipeline.
Forest School continues
to be immensely popular,
so much so that we have
another member of staff,
Miss McLoughlin, due to
complete her training as
a Level 3 Forest School
Leader next year.
What has been extremely gratifying
is the effect Forest School has begun
to have on our families. Many
parents have reported taking to the
great outdoors on a regular basis
after their children have undertaken
sessions and we have even had
a parent facing her phobia of
creepy-crawlies all because of her
child overcoming a similar fear
within Forest School. To change
hearts and minds; true education.
Within the Forest School area, the
pavilion has proved to be a positive
boon, both for sporting activities and
Forest School itself. We hosted both
a visit from one of our sister schools
from the Society of the Holy Child
Jesus, Cavendish School, as well as
a conference from the same society.
Both groups thoroughly enjoyed their
40
experience of Forest School,
including some wonderful
natural art being produced
by the conference delegates!
Indeed, the children from
Cavendish so enjoyed our
wonderful grounds that they
almost needed an extra coach
for all the apples they took
back with them to London!
They are exceptional apples,
of course, and they were
put to good use this year by
the kitchen staff to make a
beautiful apple pie. Jimmy
Doherty & Hugh FearnleyWhittingstall would be proud of
this degree of local sourcing! Further
plans are afoot for this year’s crop…
The installation of the greenhouse
means we will be able to grow our
own flowers and food from seed next
year. This will be of huge benefit to
so many areas of the curriculum.
On the subject of chickens, the
incubator in Prep school was a
huge success, drawing many
visitors from right across Priory. It
was a wonderful experience for the
Priory School Yearbook 2012
children to witness new
life in this way and we all took it to
our hearts little Douglas, he of the
splayed leg. He is now doing very
well after being looked after at home
and is now housed with the rest of
the chickens in the poultry palace.
Plans are already in place
to develop our campus yet
further – watch this (very
large & outdoor) space…

SPIRITUAL LIFE
YEAR 11 PROM
At the very heart of our school are the Gospel
Values upon which we were founded.
Lights, camera, action! Year 11 arrived
at their Prom in true Hollywood style,
as they pulled into Hornton Grange in
pink and white stretch limousines.
At the heart of Catholic
Education is a belief that
every child is created
in God’s image and has
value. This is why we strive
to provide the very best
education we can, achieving
not only outstanding
results, but also providing
an education that helps
a child to grow morally,
socially and spiritually.
Over the past year our academic
achievements have been many
but we have also engaged in a
variety of spiritually enriching
activities. We continued with our
spiritual journey by praying,
fasting and giving to charity.
Prayer: All pupils entered a prayer
competition and the entries this
year were of a very high standard.
After much deliberation by the RE
department the winning entries
(who each received an Easter egg)
were Jemimah Nelson, Daniel
Telphia, Nicole Hume McKay and
Abigail Mikael. We also had a
celebration of Ash Wednesday with
many pupils receiving ashes to mark
the beginning of the period of Lent.
42
Priory School Yearbook 2012
Fasting and charity: On the 2nd
March we held a soup kitchen in
aid of CAFOD and were able to
raise over £500 with our annual
non school uniform soup kitchen
day during Lent. Many members
of the community had a simple
lunch of soup to empathise with
the experiences of many in the
Third World where a bowl of soup
may be the only meal they have
each day. We also had very
successful charity events such
as the charity fashion show for
the Make a Wish foundation.
Mass: This year we have celebrated
mass for the celebration of our
founder Cornelia Connelly, All Saints
Mass, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday,
Ascension and the feast of St Peter
and Paul. Each Mass has been
a wonderful celebration with all
pupils involved with reading or
saying bidding prayers or singing
hymns. In May we had an Ascension
Mass for the first time, where all
prayers were said in English and
then another language to show
the multitude of languages spoken
by members of our community.
Cultural & Spiritual Life
They certainly brought
glamour and sophistication
to the evening, dressed
in glorious gowns
and stylish suits.
They looked like movie stars as they
sauntered up the red carpet and into
the Edwardian style Manor House.
This was followed by a presentation
of photographs of their time at
Priory School and an energetic
speech from Mr Cramb. Students
and teachers then danced the night
away, until the clock struck midnight
and everyone had to say farewell.

HEAD BOY & HEAD GIRL
Through the years at Priory School we feel that we
have developed academically but also as people.
Being Head Girl and Boy comes with a lot of responsibility and we
feel that we have proven to be good role models to the lower years
and have enjoyed every second of having these positions.
Maya:
This year has been a very stressful but an intriguing one. My best
memory of the year has been the sports tour to Malaga. I have
enjoyed getting to see the other side to teachers but also playing
netball with the girls. Also I have enjoyed being Head Girl and
working alongside Mikey and the other prefects through the year.

This year has been a very memorable year for me. Besides the
stressful exam period, I have had a lot of fun being Head Boy and
organising our 2012 Prom. Working alongside the teachers and
prefects, I personally have developed my personal skills and have
thoroughly enjoyed the school year with my Priory School family.
