Welcome to Philadelphia, known by its PHILLYosophy as “The City That Loves You Back,” and the site of the
51st National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees’ Annual Seminar at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott
from July 20 through July 23, 2016. Make plans now to attend.
The NACTT hosts the premier consumer bankruptcy educational seminar each year and this year is no different. There will be excellent educational opportunities for trustees and attorneys who represent debtors,
creditors and trustees, as well as programs for supervisory staff of Chapter 13 trustees.
The program includes a broad range of relevant and timely topics of interest to consumer practitioners. Topics range from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: What You Need to Know, Tax Issues in Chapter
13 Cases, Ethical and Effective Communication with Essential Parties, Handling Student Loans in Chapter 13
Cases, Challenging Consumer Bankruptcy Case Issues and Evidentiary Topics. Of interest for our fast-paced
digital practices are presentations from experts on Financial Crimes and Internet Security. You will not want to
miss the ever-popular Chapter 13 Case Law Update featuring The Honorable Keith M. Lundin, The Honorable
William Houston Brown (Retired) and Trustee Henry E. Hildebrand, III. And, as usual, the Annual Seminar will
provide ample opportunities for networking with your professional colleagues.
Our downtown Philadelphia location will allow you to take advantage of many sightseeing opportunities in
the area. You can visit The Liberty Bell Center; declare your independence at Independence Hall; visit the
National Constitution Center; and see the Betsy Ross House. If museums interest you, Philadelphia does not
disappoint. You can see the Philadelphia Museum of Art and channel your inner “Rocky” on the steps, as well
as visit The Barnes Foundation to see spellbinding impressionist art. Foodies will not be disappointed. Across
the street from the hotel is the Reading Terminal Market, a colossal food court with samplings of Philadelphia’s
unique tastes. You also can sample the top Philly Cheesesteaks and search out your favorite cuisines all within
walking distance of our location.
The NACTT strives to be a nationwide leader in consumer bankruptcy law education and the 2016 Annual
Seminar presents many opportunities to improve your knowledge and expertise. The NACTT Academy and
program planners have compiled an excellent panel of speakers from across the country that are not to be
missed. We sincerely hope you can join us!
See you in Philly!
