ANDRES SARDA Spring-Summer 2017 FOUR SEASONS
The four seasons are the subject of the next fashion show by Andres Sarda, who offers a journey through the
calendar while combining fantasies and dreams. His vision is highly personal and atypical.
In spring and summer, the predominant collection will be swimwear, reserving the more intimate garments for
autumn and winter.
Solid colours, along with the juxtaposing of volumes and materials, will be the hallmarks of each season.
As always, the Sarda woman will be highly feminine, elegant, strong and striking, and will make her way through the
year while combining all the elements to suit her taste.

LINES OF THE COLLECTION
A wave of colour and optimism cascades over MBFWM, where Agatha Ruiz de la Prada makes a star appearance. This summer collection which will
leave few people indifferent is designed for women who are as fun-loving, daring and original as Agatha herself.
It is a collection that spans the entire spectrum of the day spent enjoying next summer near the water. Dresses, jumpers and cool and comfortable
T-shirts for the mornings or unique pieces for the evenings and nights.
Swimwear of all kinds will be transformed into a multicolour embodiment of Agatha’s style. There will be an omnipresent touch of playful mischief
is in this warm summer collection. The brand’s classic icons —the heart, star, stripes, polka dots and the fuchsia brick wall—, will be combined with
new summer-themed prints like surfboards, life jackets and anchors.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is presenting a line of indisputably original swimwear showing once again her famous impossible swimsuits, playing with
all firm’s hallmark elements, such as rainbows forming cages with their colours, covering the body with suggestive ribbons which are tied at the
back or which flow between clouds. Bathing suits with lifejackets, guitars, swags, roosters, a Chesterfield sofa, eyes and mouth... Unique pieces
will take over the catwalk, filled with a sense of humour, ideal for being a star in this or any summer, perfect for beach parties or pool parties alike.
Fun-filled and complex materials such as plastic holographs, corduroys, Lurex, tubular yarn, pearly or mirrored synthetic leathers, sequins,
methacrylates and metal are combined with impossible swimsuit combinations like cotton terry and Dupioni silk, plush fabrics lined with satin silk
and even artificial grass with flowers embroidered in sequins.
An endless array of surprises will conquer the catwalk and break all preconceived notions of what a swimsuit should be, as if this were the divine
Esther Williams and her musicals from the 1950s.
Accompanying this fantastic and crazy swimwear collection we can see, as ever, our playful accessories like glasses, sandals or the new collection
of towels. Surrealism returns to the MBFWM under the gleeful gaze of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

LINES OF THE COLLECTION
Spring-Summer 2017
A harmonious journey full of freshness, sensuality and elegance, from the coolest city to chic paradise on a summer’s day.
Here comes Roberto Torretta’s collection for Spring-Summer 2016/17.
The aesthetic of the collection follows two different approaches, according to the designer:
On the one hand, the message of a flowing silhouette with soft, carefully arranged lines; on the other, a more radical and ground-breaking approach
that creates a more fitted, constructed figure.
Common throughout the collection is the patterning, which essentially blends fabrics, shapes and colours.
The dresses are designed with plunging necklines, symmetry and asymmetry, knotted details, differing lengths and bias cuts, using fine, flowing
fabrics such as printed silk and satin, or more compact, densely woven fabrics with a starched effect.
Roberto Torretta shines the spotlight on trouser suits and silk crêpe. High-line, wide trousers and very ornate waistlines enhance the figure, while
long and short jackets come with unique buttoning.
Shirts with an almost poetic touch feature wide sleeves and are made of silk or sometimes polka dot cotton mesh.
A broad colour palette brings us gouache flower motifs on silk with blue and black backgrounds that are alive with yellow, orange, green, white and
waxy pink touches, in combination with plain or brocade crêpe in orange and red chili tones, with ink blue (the collection’s core colour) tainting silk
satin and light magenta on devoré fabrics, neutral and black tones on cotton serge and mesh, all combined to embark on the journey that Roberto
Torretta has planned for Spring-Summer 2016/17.

WABI-SABI
A tribute to imperfect, impermanent and incomplete beauty, wabi-sabi brings us closer to an
understated elegance, a combination of simplicity, asymmetry and ingenuity.
Colours inspired by urban facades: sand, lead blue, navy blue and gold.
Fabrics including cotton organza, triple silk organza, Prince of Wales linen, cool wool and textured
cotton.
The forms tend towards more width, aiming for volume and lightness, while the surfaces and edges
are broken down to the point where they seem to be paper.

SUMMER 2017 INSPIRATION
The 2017 collection takes its inspiration from the artistic vanguards of Kinetic Art and Op-Art. Large planes of colour
are combined with openwork lattices and structures that bestow a sensation of movement.
Architectural forms, with the combination and repetition of simple geometric shapes such as rectangles, squares,
triangles or circles.
As for colours, sharp contrasts, whether poly or bi-chromatic. The shades create gradations of light and shadow,
thus expanding the tonal range. Silver laminate with different intensities and 3D effect fabrics generate a more
sophisticated feel with a rather galactic air.
A radical, personal and polymorphous universe for a swimwear collection wholly based on the aesthetics of
movement.

LUZ. SPRING-SUMMER 2017
«Now pick up your old book... Pola, the siren,
the vaporetto, the grey pigeons their beauty the wave soon the old briefcase, towards the port, towards Venice, towards nowhere».
(Excerpt from the poem Muerte en Venecia (Death in Venice, by Guillermo Carnero)
Fashion is equivalent to anti-fashion.For women, Ulises Mérida for spring/summer 2017 is breaking down columns and barriers and has decided to place personality
before trends.A cry of freedom; it is the individual who dominates fashion, and not vice versa.
This woman is reincarnated as an English tourist wandering the beaches of Lido in Venice, as a homage to the film Death in Venice. The light is blinding but finely dusted.
This is Venice. But it could also be the Calima wind on the east coast of Spain or the light painted by Sorolla... The light, always the light.
In this modernised decadence, garments overlap, lines begin fluidly, as if caressing the body, in a game that begins as simulation before being converted into innuendo.
The accessories take part in the definition, with the use of belts to emphasise the silhouette. The shoes in this collection are flat, classic, masculine, with a strong sense
of an Oxford shoe lightened by the Mediterranean.
The palette of colours allows light to refract within them, and to flow, coming and going, like waves breaking on the shore, setting out from pure and off-whites, passing
through sand and golden-toasted shades, up through mid-greys and bluish tones, metallic and pearlescent, finishing with mid and deep blue tones.
The materials also play with a sense of movement, evolving from lighter and transparent gauzes, through cotton voile and mid-weight linens to the firmness of cotton
raffia and silk mikado.

PATRIMONIO MONTESINOS. Spring-Summer Collection 2017
Patrimonio Montesinos is a tribute to art and popular culture as expressed in its longstanding festivals.
Festivals of music and light. Festivals of masters, fireworks and falleras who set their joys aflame with the arrival of spring in an ancient rite that
dates back to the gods on Mount Olympus: gunpowder and fire.
It is our heritage and for Montesinos has served to emphasise the truth in all his work.
COLECTION
Textures and fabrics
Silks, chiffons, lace and organza: Sensorial and sumptuous.
Traditional silk brocades.
Cotton and linen voiles. Eternal Mediterranean accomplices.
Handcrafted raffia. Perlés and silks. Pure craftsmanship. Signature garments bearing the house style.
Sparkling and technological embroidery. Experiments with new finishes.
Lines
A silhouette that is pure Montesinos.
The air is filled with the aroma of scarves, and skirt flares and flounces are essential on bodies, necklines and sleeves.
This festival reveals corsets and tight busts of handcrafted honeycomb with skirts featuring unlimited frills and flares.
Prints
As in all Montesinos collections, prints play a vital role.
Los dioses del fuego (“The Gods of Fire”): on a blue marble background we see a parade of icons of classical beauty combined with protest and
fallas-related graffiti.
Nit del Foc: night of fires and monuments. Reprints of the historic prints of Valencia.

+34 by Hannibal Laguna
Communication with our surroundings is channelled through numbers, codes, sequences and prefixes that identify the area and country we are contacting. Although
its age is largely unknown, Spain’s +34 prefix is almost 50 years old. This numeric symbol has identified Spain for decades, and has become a silent travel companion,
a symbol of countless memories, and a crucial partner in exporting Spain’s history, culture and fashion.
+34 is a collection inspired by Spain, where one prefix brings together a whole series of shapes, volumes, textures and colours with the nostalgic memory of beautiful
experiences lived. A harmonious sequence of evening dresses, where times gone-by meet to explore a past that is rich in volumetric architectural elements. The
collection was constructed using the supreme craft techniques of Haute Couture, from a contemporary perspective and with a modern approach, where tradition
merges with elegance and experimentation to underpin the creative concept.
The silhouettes of the past re-emerge in the form of tiny waists and swirling bias-cut skirts reminiscent of a bullfighter’s cape. Invisible backs and ornate fronts,
featuring richly embroidered lace and mantilla dotted with glass beads. Deliciously striking tube dresses with crystal polka dots and capes made of translucent
organza. The main focus of the collection are volatile chiffon fabrics over the label’s famous signature bustiers, and goffered silk jacquard over matte organza. And all
of this comes in a colour palette that is tainted with Formentera turquoise, smoked salmon, nude, champagne, taupe, orchid, lipstick red and black.
Footwear and handbags are also part of +34, expressing neo-luxury, which the designer loves to encourage in his accessories lines. Super feminine mules decorated
with gros-grain bands. Sophisticated suede sandals with metallic heels fastening with delicate laces. Translucent boot-like sandals with an exposed band across the
toes and circular ribbing. Nude colour stilettos with a transparent mesh effect and refined tips coloured with tiny dégradé crystals. This exquisite collection bears the
«Made in Spain» seal and stands out for its fabulous designs and excellent all-round quality.
The HANNIBAL LAGUNA FASHION JEWELS line will soon be presented on the catwalk for the first time. To create this collection, the designer has extracted the
essence of by-gone eras and distilled it to produce pieces that are inspired by the emblematic jewels seen on the big screen, but with a contemporary, modern
twist that is bursting with energy. Light, shine and shimmer are embodied in stunning crystal gems set into carefully gold-plated chains. Here, asymmetric designs,
experimental shapes and colours take prevalence. The colour palette blends fabulous amethyst hues and French pink with those flattering turquoise and aquamarine
tones. The gems have also been carefully cut into specific shapes: brilliant, marquise and the unique trilliant cut that characterises the underlying theme of all
HANNIBAL LAGUNA FASHION JEWELS collections.

YATCH CLUB. Spring/Summer Collection 2017
Collection No. 30 by ION FIZ targets the sea and summer holidays at a yacht club with days of leisure and enjoyment
filled with surprises. Pack your bags to come on board and dive into a collection where salt is the perfume; the sky, sea,
sun and moon are the colours; and the water, waves and sand are the textures. An organic marine-themed universe that
the designer has brought to life in the designs of his new creations for men and women.
Lines: Experimental minimalism, clean lines with significant and innovative «signature garment» details.
Fabrics: Egyptian cotton, canvas, twill, pique, denim, metallic silk, perlé and tulle.
Colours: White, sand, sky blue, indigo, black, silver and gold.
From the yacht, ION FIZ looks out at the horizon, as optimistic as the breath of fresh air emanated by the new «Yacht Club»
collection.

ROLLERS
Inspiration:
Roller skaters, skateboarders, roller hockey. Figure skating. Skating boots with 4 wheels. Details such as eyelets and stitching, laces, zips and boot hooks. Sneakers,
sportswear, movement, speed. Reminiscences of active wear in all the patterns. Sporting colour combinations which have been adapted to prêt-à-couture.
Fabrics:
Neoprene, mesh, 3D mesh, synthetic leather with injected plastic, textured lycra, fabrics which are pleasant to the touch, soft and elastic, contrasting with rigid
synthetic leather, special breathable fabrics for lining footwear and leather goods. The fabrics are dense but comfortable. All the corsets in the collection will be
made from soft matt fabrics industrially mounted on 3mm thick foam to provide a spongy smooth matt finish.
Colours:
White, off-white, beige, pale pink and black as the basics. Sport-style colour combinations such as black and white, and other more aggressive colours such as
cyan blue, cadmium yellow and purple. Predominance of colour contrasts through black or off-white piping throughout the entire collection.
Special attention is paid to the eyelets, and to ornaments, Maxizip zippers and padded synthetic leather applications used as reinforcement.
Silhouettes:
The silhouette clings to the body, with structured corsets and garments, but with rather more daring cuts than in previous collections. Designs appear in which
accessories like knee pads, leggings and harnesses are perfectly complemented with crop top-style or swimwear-inspired garments to bestow a cool summery
touch.
The pattern is inspired by sportswear, architectural-style garments and a certain bionic air. Halter tops, bandeau tops, cross braces, shorts, off the shoulder tops,
overlapping garments.
Sneaker-style platform shoes complement these looks. Special attention is paid to accessories such as clutches, harnesses and masks with sporting overtones.

CONCHINCHINA (aka TIMBUKTU...)
When you think the world ends you reach Timbuktu. Beyond Timbuktu there is nothing.
A long journey through exotic worlds and colourful dreams of crossing continents.
A mixture of raw fabrics in oversize cardigans to keep warm in the high mountains is combined with
subtle Asian silks, with colourful hand-painted designs, which turn into light dresses.
Dragons, snakes and other mystical animals lurk in these worlds. They invade all the garments with
their graceful movements. Symbols of good fortune that light the way.
Colourful dresses with straight lines and minimal cuts. Contrast of the mini garment combined with
the oversize. Garments entirely embroidered in tulle with embossed flowers that give the appearance
of exotic gardens.
I have finally arrived, here I am, I’ll see you in Timbuktu.

The music sounds and, after a few seconds of doubt, we set out on the track. Dance as primal movement, as a
celebration, as a metaphor for constant motion. In fashion, as in dancing, one is not allowed to stop. Like in the film
«They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?».
It all started with a feather dress that Teresa wore to a wedding. She danced in it. Many people enquired about what
she was wearing; from there a first micro-collection was born. It all started with that feather dress, which gave a
boost to the brand.
2016 has been a party for us. We are celebrating 20 years in the business, and we’re still dancing.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary on the Catwalk
Ailanto’s fabrics tell a story of fifteen years of time standing still, fifteen different techniques, an alternating
range of hues, volatile watercolours and embroidery framed forever by needle and thread.
They brought back the delicacy of chinoiserie, the dance moves of Pina Bausch, they gave us Bauhaus with a
feminine gaze, the camera of Jacques Henri Lartigue in the snow amidst Alpine forests, and the frozen image
of burning ice with the dizzying hips of Veruschka.
Alianto grows, it sways to and fro with life like entwined bindweed, like subtle ivy in the air, rising from the
ground towards the sky. Like an image glimpsed in a dream, leaving traces of a world of grace, beauty and
refinement upon awakening.

ECLÉCTICA
The company JUANA MARTÍN from Cordoba will once again be present at the 64th edition of the
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. ECLÉCTICA is the name chosen to give life to the forthcoming
offerings by the firm for Spring-Summer 2017.
This time the Cordovan designer has decided to combine trends, styles and patterns that are very
different from one another but which converge into a harmonious whole and are reconciled to
perfection, resulting in a line that lives up to the title of the collection.
The bougainvillea takes on special importance both for its colours and its structure, and becomes
the main point of visual impact of the fabric. Floral prints are once again fundamental, but with
a reinvention of the concept and the way they blend with the garment. The volumes create solid,
clean and geometric structures. The firm continues to present its iconic lines as the duality of
blacks and whites combined with different coloured elements. Fishing villages and the deep blue
of the sea are also reflected in the air that surrounds ECLÉCTICA.
The fabrics used in making this new offering will be gauzes, poplins, lurex, lamé, silks and raffia. A
subtle, sophisticated and fascinating patchwork.

LINES OF THE COLLECTION
More an explorer than a designer, Jorge Vázquez travels around the world looking for the richest and most exotic
aesthetics, once again reinventing the concept of luxury for women.
His travels took him this time to East Africa, where he plunged fully into its flora, fauna and the local tribal-ethnic
style, adopting it as his own but giving it a sense of sophistication with touches of the colonial safari look from the
late 19th century.
Vázquez offers us a fresh and dainty woman who lands on the African savannah with all the sophistication of the
big city, resulting in a multicultural look for a woman who knows how to blend in with the most exotic environments
without losing her essence.
Light and flowing garments are combined with the other more structured tailor-style garments that are such an obsession
for the designer, urban garments with fashionable touches. These give way to the night: fresh, iconic and vaporous, an
oasis with new details and volumes that convert the Jorge Vázquez woman into a mirage of sensuality and freshness.
A palette of highly appealing and feminine colours, where the bright terracotta maroon is combined with floral roses,
intense tropical greens with hints of yellow chlorophyll, touches of blue and white that serve to cool the warm tones
of the African sunsets. There are different patterns printed, which are already the hallmark of the firm: tropical palm
trees and pineapples, fish and marine motifs, checks, ethnic and geometric motifs.
Jorge dresses women with rich natural fabrics, the firm’s signature style. Exotic natural raffias, fresh silk muslins,
rich cottons and linens, lush silk gazaars, gauzy crepe de chine, delicate tulles...
Jorge Vázquez, in his dalliance with this Orientalist aesthetic, avoids any dramatic fantasy that could be anathema
to his creative world. His garments are modern and free of superfluous and ostentatious embellishments.

INSPIRATION
It is time for partying, dancing, fun and street music. A time for getting together and looking back, for tracing nostalgic memories trapped inside whitewalled streets —white like an abandoned heart that I bring with me year after year full of solitude but void of red— a red that tainted the landscape full
of poppies that I dreamt of, and that dreamt of me. I strive not to look upon those poppies as I pass by, since I do not want the flowers to know what
life is telling me.
I flee from the sun and yearn for night to fall, when the lights, smells, music and dancing will hide me for a few hours from a world that tirelessly forces
me to love pain. I find a cure for that pain amidst all the hustle and bustle when your eyes tell me that time has gone by, that you no longer remember
me and I have forgotten you. And then comes fear, leaving my mouth dry – a mouth that is satiated with yours, eager to feel the feeling that comes when
things are done for the first time.
The night keeps my secret that is left bare at daybreak, and under the sheets I awake, I caress my enthusiasm and fly high, tracing a path that I believe
takes me to my first summer, when I heard a whisper saying: you will love the night, you will hate the dawn.
TRENDS
You will Love the Night completes a trilogy, together with Path FW 2015-16 and My First Summer SS 2016. Chronologically, this new collection is the last,
but in fact it tells the story of how it all began, about the night when you set off on the path to your first summer.
Meticulous pattern work creates the perfect blend between simplicity and technique, bringing together two of the designer’s defining concepts: tradition
and modernity. A loose silhouette made of languid, unstructured lines that contrast with geometric cuts, full of traditional techniques and reminiscent
of craftsmanship.
Various prints confer the colour palette with coherence and tell us about the collection’s conceptual universe.
COLOURS
The colour palette reflects that convergence, that new life, that return which inspires a collection made of clean colours, where the purity of white and
grey backgrounds combines with yellows, the orangey-red tone of a poppy and bright greens.
MATERIALS
True to the brand’s values, the materials are in keeping with its quality standards and natural essence. The collection is made mostly of cotton, with
poplin cuts, raincoats, linen crochet, and of course the brand’s flagship materials: leather, organza and tulle. Weightless fabrics that lead us into a fresh
and romantic summer like a journey back to the beginning.

KAIZEN
Philosophy: The Spring-Summer 2017 prêt-á-couture collection by Esther Noriega reflects the evolution-focused philosophy of the Japanese KAIZEN
work methodology, which is based on the importance of change as a driver of vitality and creativity. A change for the better, towards development
and evolution. SAKURA, the cherry flower, represents ephemeral beauty, innocence and femininity. Spring is a time of rebirth, when new ideas,
concepts and beginnings blossom, where fashion is the driver of that change for the better – the KAIZEN (SAKURA) fashion.
Colours: Botanical colours with an oriental floral inspiration. Orchids: from plum blossom to lilac; cherry blossom: pink and white; a broad array of
greens: gachala, forest, aqua and leaf green; and the designer’s fetish hues: bright red and Sanger gold.
Fabrics: The fabric prints are the designer’s very own unique and exclusive designs, created in collaboration with the painter Ignacio Pastor. These
colourful compositions feature stripes, geometric patterns, lilly pads, cherry blossom, foliage and flowers, dotted with bright little humming birds.
The base of the fabrics are twill, chiffon, mikado, silk, crêpe, tulle and tulle embroidered with lurex thread, as well as cotton batiste.
Silhouettes and forms: The garments are distinctly feminine, creating flowing lines using vaporous fabrics that enhance the figure in motion.
Daytime dresses, tunics, and short and long evening dresses.
Full-length jumpsuits with wide legs. Short jumpsuits.
Palazzo trousers, wide-legged, mid-length trousers and shorts.
Shirts and blouses, with shirts that are short and the front and almost floor-length at the back.
Long, sleeveless vest jackets.
Évasé skirts with plenty of swirl.

The exploration of lines and sumptuousness defines the Malne Madrid collection for SpringSummer 2017.
Delving into the roots of Spanish culture, the colours of the paintings in the Prado Museum,
the wealth of a mystical past and the Spanish Renaissance, the designers at Malne, Juanjo
Manez and Paloma Alvarez, define a style with its own identity that shifts easily between urban
modernity and past history.
The cuts used, inspired by longstanding atelier techniques, pay homage to haute couture, adding
the sophistication, strength and tastes of the 21st century.
The pure white of the poplin, embroidered in gold, pearls, different varieties of silks, gazaar,
chiffon and crepe, define this highly personal, unique, elegant and luxurious style which, like all
New Age work, evokes the past in order to renew it and imbue it with freshness.

«Suddenly, her skin turned into bark, her hair became leaves, and her arms were transformed
into branches. She stopped running as her feet became rooted to the ground. Apollo embraced
the branches, but even the branches shrank away from him. Since Apollo could no longer take
her as his wife, he vowed to tend her as his tree, and promised that her leaves would decorate
the heads of leaders as crowns».
I aim to meditate on the mutant ability of nature and mankind, to reflect on the transformations
of matter and form.
Emulating the metamorphosis of Daphne when chased by Apollo, the collection reveals clean

LINES OF THE COLLECTION
«Lines» has become an introspection of itself. The collection is inspired by the designer’s family. His father and
grandfather and their professions inspired him, leading to a reinterpretation of the straight lines of bricks and plans
in the form of volumes, overlappings and straight-cut garments. This reminiscence is seen in a packet of cigarettes
and the office paper that wrapped the letters he would write to his parents when he was young, which he has turned
into patterns and embroidery.
It is a universe where every last detail has a reason to be and tells a story. The colours represent delicacy, innocence
and nature. They aim to evoke memories, melancholy, nostalgia...
It is based on Lorca’s craftwork, his roots. It blends Lorca’s typical embroidery with the techniques he picked up
during his stay in Lyon. He retrieves the craftsmanship of working esparto grass and clay by collaborating with
several local craftsmen, and he experiments with textiles using wool to create his own felt-like fabric.

MANIFIESTO is a prêt-à-porter collection for men and women, with timeless unisex garments. Straight silhouettes
from the 40s combined with the new, more fitted 1950s look. The collection takes elements from the past and turns
them into something new and contemporary, with a special focus on the details and finishes.
The garments are treated with plastic materials in a process of experimentation and innovation with latex and
waxing on wool or knitwear, treating the surface of the fabric with pleats or ruching to transform them.
The collection also features unique prints and includes poems about death written by my grandfather. It toys with
unions and separations thanks to decorative elements such as eyelets and aglets inspired by Medieval lacing, which
was initially conceived to fasten or tighten items or parts of them, and which is used here on jackets, trousers and
skirts joined by a logo-marked ribbon.
The shapes of the 40s and 50s are brought to the present, structured with classic silhouettes and tailoring
techniques for a contemporary design. New look silhouettes combine with straight cuts and over-the-top volumes
and proportions.

A nomad (Greek: μ , nomas, plural μ , nomades; meaning one roaming about for pasture, pastoral tribe) is a member of a
community of people who live in different locations, moving from one place to another. It is estimated that there are some 30 to
40 million people on Earth who belong to nomad peoples.
Many cultures have traditionally been nomadic, but nomadic behaviour is increasingly rare in industrialized countries. It is still a
significant lifestyle in various societies with a strong indigenous presence, such as Tibet and Mongolia. Some authorities prefer
the terms non-sedentary or migratory as opposed to nomadic to describe moving groups of hunters-gatherers. There are seminomadic peoples who follow seasonal patterns but have a permanent home.
This does not mean they are unrestricted or that they wander around aimlessly, but rather they are established around temporary
hubs whose stability depends on the availability of food and the technology to obtain it. Nomadic cultures are listed in three
categories of economic specialisation: hunter-gatherers, pastoral nomads, and «peripatetic nomads».
Nowadays, we have the concept of urban nomads: people who move from one city to another for work, to improve their quality of
life, out of necessity or for love. We learn to fit into a new city and we adapt to its pace and how it communicates.
The NOMADAS SS/17 collection is a journey through different ethnicities and cultures, picking up ideas from traditional costumes
that are mixed and re-built to create a new vision.
It is similar to the «rave» concept that emerged in the nineties as itinerant parties where people gathered from all over the world.

Pleasure is as simple as hopping into the car, switching the radio on and heading out of the city along a bustling road
towards the sea. This collection brings back the sensation of our first trips to the seaside: promenades teeming with
tourists, rocky docks and pedal boats. It is reminiscent of Godard’s Contempt, showing a melancholy Brigitte Bardot
on the roof terrace of the Malaparte house. Of Alain Delon on a small boat drifting in the middle of the ocean. Bathed
in the sun, that is how our summer was spent.
The collection is a compilation of auto-biographical elements that are conveyed in the form of looks. Asymmetric
cuts, long sleeves and cutwork on the garments. Dresses tied up in crepé knots combined with jumpsuits and striped
tops. Some of the items have been made in separate parts, like broken souvenirs that seem about to disintegrate.

The word Rumspringa is of German origin and refers to the period during which Amish teenagers can go out and
explore the city. During that time, they are allowed to live outside the community’s rules and must decide whether
they want to go back or stay in the city. This collection is about the various communities that have adopted a
completely different lifestyle to that of modern society and who choose to reject most technological breakthroughs
in favour of a modest and simple aesthetic. Mennonites, Old Believers, Hutterites, Beachy Amish and Amish are the
inspiration for the collection, especially during their Rumspringa.
What makes Rumspringa so important is that it is the only time when they can change the way they dress, wear
trainers, put on make-up and wear printed clothes.
They are also allowed to buy cinema tickets, go to a football match, watch the TV and drive a car.

Gezellig is a collection that began to take shape based on the traditional Dutch outfit, but its inspiration soon spread to draw on everything that had to do with Dutch culture, though steering clear of
stereotypes and literalities.
A colourful, geometric collection with clean cuts, Gezellig is full of elements that inadvertently transport us to the essence of the Netherlands, combining a variety of colours in a carefully planned
manner. It all revolves around the Dutch colour para excellence: orange. This colour shows itself in the collection in two different ways: on the one hand, as a colour in its own right in the plastic-coated
organza and striped cotton fabrics, and on the other hand, it is broken down into other colours that comprise it: red, yellow and white, which are also typical of the country’s emblematic flower, the
tulip. Tulip petals can be seen on the flaps with rounded edges featured on all kinds of items, as if the flower had been plucked away leaving a single petal.
The canals are another of the country’s symbols, and they too are represented in the collection with the reflective speckled denim made of blue fabric with silvery specks, which is enhanced by the
navy blue tones that are present throughout the collection.
The stripes we see in both the women’s and men’s garments are typical of Holland’s traditional lady’s costume, and they also call to mind the striped fields of different-coloured tulips.
The silhouettes are in-keeping with the outline of the traditional costume, with both skirts and trousers drawing in at the waist. And another of the outfit’s essential elements has also been considered:
the apron, which makes its appearance in the form of knotted waistlines.
Throughout the collection we see different types of frills in all kinds of sizes and finishes, which are a nod towards skirts with ruched waistlines, with the stripy pattern on many of the fabrics enhancing
this effect.
Gezellig relies strongly on the smallest of its details: hand-embroidery, which is divided into two main parts to make the collection fully understandable for the observer: multi-colour embroidery which
draws its inspiration from the blades of windmills and the endless fields of flowers; and metallic-effect embroidered leaves arranged in circles to create a pattern – a flower.
In short, the idea is to enhance the most typical traits of a society, a culture, a way of life that may be considered more or less enviable, but is essentially inspiring.

«VISTO! In the late 18th century, the people of Paris were rising against a magnate, a tyrant! So much so that on 16
October 1793 Madame Déficit was sent straight to the guillotine, jeered by the masses».
«Vive la Révolution» is a satirical vision of the revolutionary movements and the power they have over today’s
society. How we protest and why.
The collection is divided into three main characters:
Dictators – heartless blonds who are obsessed with pink and money.
Followers – the militants of the 21st century. Selfie addicts who stalk their leaders on Instagram and Youtube.
Revolutionaries – all the people who don’t fit into the future plans drawn up by the dictators, who intend to rise
against injustice, corruption and discrimination.
Pink as the main colour is mixed with greys, browns and black. We see checked prints and houndstooth fighting
military combat; waterproofs and lace turning those dictators, militants and revolutionaries into rather peculiar
characters.

DELAY
Glitching, aliasing, bugs and delays are just some of the most common graphical errors in this digital age.
They are files that produce incorrect figures or images when read due to wrong or damaged coding, which
leads to an unwanted effect.
«DELAY» feeds on this phenomenon and seizes the paradox of transferring errors to fabrics, stitches
or prints in order to prove that each error can give rise to something new that will make us forget the
problem and appreciate the result. The idea is to take the opportunity to remove the negative connotation
from the concept of error in order to see its constructive and productive potential, using it not only as an
aesthetically pleasing game but also as a statement.

MERCEDES-BENZ, MAIN SPONSOR OF MBFWM
The 64th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid will have Mercedes-Benz as its main
sponsor. This will be the eleventh consecutive edition with the brand showing its commitment
and dedication to the Spanish fashion sector.
Moreover, within the framework of this award, the young talents show will welcome an
international guest designer to present their collection on the last day of MBFWM.
The support that Mercedes-Benz brings to international fashion events and to emerging talent
in the sector is clearly visible with its participation in more than 50 fashion shows worldwide,
including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Beijing, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Istanbul, Berlin, Prague,
and more., as well as the acclaimed Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères.
Staying true to its avant-garde philosophy, the German automotive company Mercedes-Benz is
keeping up its core values: innovation, elegance and design, in a constant pursuit for perfection,
which it shares with the fashion sector. With this sponsorship, the brand is reinforcing its support
for long-standing designers and emerging talents with every edition of the Madrid fashion show.
In line with this goal, during the 64th edition, Mercedes-Benz will be holding the eighth
