Next Meeting: Thursday – 20 August 2015 Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Mounts Botanical Garden at 531 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach FL 33415. North of
Southern Blvd. Meeting is in the building next to the front parking lot. (Do not go through the main
entrance gate.)
President’s Report
Yes, we have another speaker who is going
to be talking about growing bromeliads from
seed, you think maybe it’s time you tried it?
Ray Lemieux is a professional at Tropiflora
and doesn’t use plastic bags or food
containers to grow his seeds. He also grows
those winged seeds that many of us avoid.
This is sure to be something new and
interesting.
Next month, September 26, we get to ride
the big bus down to Miami for the FCBS
Extravaganza. If you don’t have fun it’s your
own fault. Seating is obviously limited so
reserve a seat soon.
I’m sure you’ve noticed the rain! We are
finally getting the rains that go along with
the heat and humidity. Your bromeliads
should be happy as can be. If you haven’t

tossed a few slow release fertilizer pellets
around your favorite plants, do it soon.
The Mount’s Shady Affair is also next month,
September 12, 9:00am – 4:00pm and
September 13, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The club
will have a booth and the usual suspects will
be selling plants.
Don’t forget to bring a few good plants for
the raffle table. You know you have too
many!

Program
This month’s speaker, Ray Lemieux, will be doing a program on growing bromeliads from seed. Ray has a
professional’s perspective on this unlike many of the amateur seed growers we normally hear from. Ray
is a long time employee of Tropiflora and always gives us a great presentation.
Ray will be selling plants from Tropiflora.

No club sponsored ramble this month. Next month is the bus trip to the FCBS Extravaganza in Miami.
