Note: Percentage of voter turnout includes rejected and declined ballots, in addition to valid ballots cast, as reflected in the poll-by-poll results
commencing on page 169. Names appear in the order and as recorded on ballots. Names in bold print represent elected candidates. Percentage of
voter turnout may not sum to 100% due to rounding.
Voter turnout is calculated based on the elector count on the post-polling day Lists of Electors. These Lists include the number of names on the Lists
of Electors after the target enumeration, with the additions of elector information from the revision period, online registrations and polling day swear-ins.
Names of duplicated, relocated and deceased electors have been removed to provide a more accurate number of names on the Lists of Electors.

Note:
Historically, the largest voter turnout was 81.8%, which occurred at the General Election of August 22, 1935.
The smallest voter turnout, prior to 2008, was 45.1% on November 22, 2004.
*Voter turnout is calculated based on the elector count on the post-polling day Lists of Electors. These Lists include
the number of names on the Lists of Electors after the target enumeration, with the additions of elector information
from the revision period, online registrations and polling day swear-ins. Names of duplicated, relocated and
deceased electors have been removed to provide a more accurate number of names on the Lists of Electors.

2008 VOTER TURNOUT
Voter turnout can be calculated in a number of different ways. One way is by comparing
the number of ballots cast to the number of names on the List of Electors at the close of
polls on polling day. This is how turnout has been calculated for past elections.
However, the number of names on the polling day Lists of Electors, while readily
available, is known to include numerous duplicates, since some electors appear at both
old and new addresses, in the case of recent moves.
Presentation of voter turnout using the polling day Lists of Electors continues on the
Statements of Official Results which follow, to reflect information submitted by
Returning Officers.
The following table provides voter turnout using statistics from the post-polling day Lists
of Electors which have duplicates removed. This method of calculation is more accurate
since it accounts for the number of electors, without duplication. Similar data is
presented on page 158 for the 2001 and 2004 general elections.
