Lister blades are designed and manufactured in the UK. The current range has evolved over the years
and now contains several unique and patented features.
Material - The steel used is of a special analysis to ensure that the blades keep their edge when working in the most arduous conditions. The heat treatment - both hardening and tempering is done under
computer control in atmosphere control furnaces to ensure that the maximum benefit is gained from
the steel.
Self Clearing Blades - It is a well known problem that if hairs get trapped between the blades they will
not cut. The patented AC cutters have been designed with a small gap between each tooth, this allows
hairs to be swept into the spaces between the cutter teeth, thus enabling the blades to clip at all times.
Ribbed Backs - The backs of our clipping combs are ribbed, this has several benefits. A lighter comb that
is stiffer font to heel, yet more flexible side-to-side. This gives a better cutting action and allows easier
sharpening of the blades. The ribs also help to guide the comb over the animal.
Driving Sockets - As standard all our clipping blades come with plastic driving sockets. This gives a
blade that runs quieter and smoother. We also manufacture a selection of our blades with metal sockets.
We recommend that these are used for high-load applications, such as with the Laser 2 or for clipping
dirty cattle.
