10. DIGITAL CHANNELS
10.1 Basic knowledge
[IP address] two functions: host or network interface identification (IP address example: 192.168.1.110)
Two versions of IP are in use: IP Version 4 and IP Version 6. Each version defines an IP address differently.
Because of its prevalence, the generic term IP address typically still refers to the addresses defined by IPv4.
[TCP port] Internet protocoll, which helps the datatransfer.
[DHCP] clien-server protocoll, which provide to the network using devices to get every information
automatically by the DHCP server. It provides the IP addresses for the cameras, when it is enabled.
[Fix or static IP address] these type of IP address will not change after a system reboot.
[POE] Power over Ethernet describes any of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical
power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and
electrical power to devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras. These feature is in every
compatible device’s specifications.
The maximum compatible cable long for the POE is 100 m.
We have tested the N411SPOE recorder with a 100m good quality solid copper Belden cable (FTP
connectors). It had no problems, but please make sure that every situation is different and the compatible
long can decrease because of the installations methods.
